ENKAY - Illumify LED Lighted Desk Magnifying Lamp

The lens is 3X magnification. So the focal point is about 3.5 inches from the lens. This is a consideration depending on the tool you are using as you work on a project. In other words, the tools can bump into the lens. To help my mother with this issue we got her a " Personal Folding Table" (Amazon, Cosco, OfficeMax). The table has a molded top, is adjustable and is sturdy. Thus mom could have a lower working surface and she adjusted to using her tatting shuttle without hitting the lens. Also with the lower work area, the lens was low enough that she could look through it well. The lens is relatively large and the lighting totally surrounds the lens so your hands do not create shadows. Figuring how to best use the lens took patients and some adjustments but it was all worth it. Mom can now do some reading and do some of her crafts. We had to return the first lamp we had ordered due to an intermittent electrical connection. The light would not stay on. The return and replacement order could not have gone smoother. Plus there was no postage fee to return the lamp. This magnifying lens will not take poor sight and make it perfect but it can help make a difference. We are grateful to the person that designs the lamp.

I love my mag-lamp. I use it every day. My only concerns are the lens has ridges on it - so you have to get in the right angle for a clear view. The lens is plastic - not glass. I am not sure if I can replace the led parts if it quits working. In all the lamp looks nice and works nicely. I wish the head could swivel - it only angles down.

Excellent lighting and magnification , however the lamp only moves back and forth,, it is not flexible and has no swivel between the "top " and the "neck" which makes it hard to maneuver for a hobbyist or someone who needs to move it around. It is a fantastic lamp and may work well for a stationary reader....

All plastic, not very sturdy and the light isn't that bright. If this was priced at about $30 it would be worth it but at $60 it's not. There is an Allen key in the box to increase the tension on the arm but no instructions. The magnifier is ok but the light is too dim which detracts from the detail you can see.

My husband did a lot of research on these type of lamps before deciding on this one which I purchased as a gift for him. He received it very quickly and is thrilled w it. He plans to use it to paint his small detailed war gaming pieces and it is adjustable to different heights that will work well for that. He pointed out a couple of technical features he appreciates including the magnifying glass cover to close to perhaps prevent the sun from hitting it and causing a fire. Great product!

Actually this would have been a very good product, but it failed. I wanted to return it for another one, but Amazon has no provision for product exchange. So I went through the Amazon return process which worked perfectly, and I got my refund. With refund in hand, I tried to reorder the lamp, but it was out of stock. I tried again later, and it was in stock but costs one and one half times more! With product information that I got off the box before I returned the lamp, I searched the net for another distributor, and I was able to buy the product at the same price that I received on the original purchase. Amazon's inability to exchange products and Amazon's fluctuating prices made all of this harder than it needed to be. Thankfully, there are other ways to get products.P.S. The replacement lamp is working fine.

I use for lighting and magnifying area where I make bead jewelry. The magnifyer is great for seeing the small holes in the beads and the lighting helps me complete the project more easily and rapidly. It is also great to use with needlework also.

I have enjoyed the lamp and am pleased with my purchase. The magnification is good and is good for reading or working on projects.

I do a lot knitting ans or very close up work and was thinking I might have to giveIt up due poor declining vision , night time being the worst with this EnKay desktopProblem has solved.

there is no warranty????? light did not work very long. now stuck with broken useless lamp
