Great pots for plants that have deep root systems
This review is for "BangQiao Plastic Deep Nursery and Seedling Pots" that come in various sizes. I've bought a bunch of these, mainly for carnivorous plants right now. I found them when I was trying to find plastic pots that are taller than usual for the diameter. Such pots are kind of difficult to find, which led to me exploring other options such as tall drinking cups, and I even considered just using big disposable cups from a fast food restaurant. I'm glad I found these though as they are nice! These pots feel solid. The plastic is thicker and more rigid than a typical nursery pot. As a result, these cannot be squeezed easily to coax a plant and it's soil out together. The exterior is textured which makes them less slippery for gripping. The drainage is well designed and effective. While the price is higher than one would pay for nursery pots, I feel like the quality and taller design more than makes up for it. I have one problem with these pots, and it is rather nit-picky. I'll likely do a terrible job of explaining this, but here it goes. In the pictures that show the drainage holes, you'll see a sort of fan or windmill type of design for the inner section. The outer ring has normal round holes. In many cases, the plastic of the inner edge of that outer ring is not perfect. As a result, there's a bit of excess plastic blocking the opening of the hole where it rides up the inner edge of the outer ring. Fortunately that excess plastic is much, much thinner than the rest of the pot and it can be clipped off really easily or even pressed through with a fingernail. This will open a bit more space for water to flow to those round holes.

Strong and built to last
recently purchased the BangQiao 14 Pack 4.40 Inch Plastic Deep Nursery Pots for my gardening needs, and I have to say, I'm thoroughly impressed. First off, the pack size is perfect for someone like me who's always propagating new plants or repotting existing ones. Having 14 pots on hand means I never have to worry about running out when I need them most. The quality of these pots is top-notch. They're made of durable plastic that can withstand the elements and last through multiple growing seasons. I also appreciate the depth of the pots, which allows for ample root growth and promotes healthy, thriving plants. Another thing I love is the drainage holes at the bottom. Proper drainage is crucial for plant health, and these pots deliver in that department. Plus, the holes are just the right size to prevent soil from washing out while still allowing excess water to escape. The versatility of these pots is also worth mentioning. Whether I'm starting seeds, transplanting seedlings, or potting up mature plants, these pots handle it all with ease. And because they're reusable, they're not only cost-effective but also eco-friendly. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The BangQiao Plastic Deep Nursery Pots are a gardening essential in my book. If you're looking for reliable, durable pots to support your green thumb endeavors, look no further. These pots have got you covered.

Perfect for tree seedlings
I grow tree saplings from seed for planting in bare ground left by coal mining. One of primary problems I have with traditional nursery pots is the way roots get called up and stunted. The unique design of these pots helps guide seedling tap root growth so that when they are big enough for moving to final pot they are easily separated from main root mass. Survival rate of young trees has increased 3 fold since I started using these pots. Durability, thick walls and overall toughness make them highly reusable. All said they are an excellent value. UPDATED: Have now ordered these pots 4 times and am very pleased with the consistent quality of the product.

Great product
These are way sturdier than I thought they would be. Much thicker and heavy duty than normal pots. I am using them to grow Southern Magnolias from seeds. Will definitely buy again if I need more.

One plant nerd’s joy—seeking a deep pot alternative to a hanging pot.
The BangQiao pots are fantastic options for tropical vining plants! A hanging pot seems to be the most ideal kind of container for a mature nepenthes specimen, because the lower pitchers will develop their colors better with more gravity. But for those of us that want to use humidity trays to water our younger tropical pitcher plants, BangQiao provides an effective alternative to hanging pots. These are all *rough* measurements coming up. Photos also included. The pot is 6-1/8” high from the lip to the base, & 5-7/8” high from the internal base to the lip. The external, upper circumference is 5-1/4”, & the internal, upper circumference is 4-5/8”. The external circumference of the base is 3-1/2” & the internal base circumference is 3-3/8”. You lose a bit of the internal height (or depth, I think), as the base bevels inwards. This is designed as a pocket of space for humidity to collect, when it’s available. For my personal use, the height and humidity support of this product satisfy all my needs. But that’s not where the benefits end! I got two ceramic pots from a hardware store in 2019. They were the tallest I could find, and were $8/ea. I had 3 plants at that time, and could only find 2 of the tall(-ish) pots. I had to resorted to using cheap nursery pots for my other carnivorous plants; which is neither an awful nor a great alternative. As more time passed and my collection grew in number, the number of appropriate pots I required also increased. I did not want to go on a wild goose chase trying to find new containers for all of my nepenthes. I also wanted to spend more money on other gardening supplies I needed. I bought some 6” diameter mesh pots, but they were still not deep enough. Rats! But BangQiao showed up on my next deep Amazon search, saving the day. I got the 6” diameter pots for some of my larger plants, in addition to the 5” dia. The quality seems to be consistent from my point of view. They are a lot sturdier than they look, are very lightweight, offer extra room for aeration, and are available at a great price. If you’re thinking about buying these for use on anything tropical & indoors, you will most likely not regret the purchase.

Product is amazing, but shipping damages them
have purchased these a few times, and actually just purchased another two orders for them today. I had a set arrive this morning and the box was demolished, just absolutely obliterated by UPS. Looks like it went through a shredder for large boxes. And sure enough, the plantar that sits at the top of the stack has damage on one side of the rim. Sure, it's still usable, but I purchase these because they are reusable and remain in pristine condition season after season. So to have one start out already damaged is frustrating. If the seller reads this and is interested in replacing one large 6.1" pot then I'd be grateful. The pots themselves are amazing! I've tried everything, starting with peat pods, peat cups, solo cups, disintegrating cups, re-purposed water bottles, other cheaper reusable cups. Everything falls apart, or is a pain to manage. Drilling holes in dozens of solo cups takes time and doesn't evenly distribute water. Peat collects mold and falls apart in about 4 weeks. These things are perfect. They are extremely durable, so much so that UPS only managed to damage one of them despite absolutely destroying the box they came in. And that one is still usable, just ugly. They are far thicker walled than you are probably thinking. They have zero flexibility to them, which means they don't accidentally break when trying to get the plant out. But also means you have to use creative means to release the roots from the pot. I just slide a butter knife along all the edges carefully, then things slide out with a little shake. These uptake water extremely well, and yet lose no soil out the bottom. I have transitioned to ONLY using these for my preseason starts. I use the largest ones for tomatoes, the 2nd size down for peppers, and the smallest size for several other veggies that go outside almost immediately after sprouting. I grow about 150 plants per year. Just buy these, you don't be disappointed (unless UPS throws the box off a 10 story building, in which case you'll have one busted one).

Still great after a year full-time in the sun!
For starters, some folks have mentioned issues finding matching saucers, so let me mention the same brand has 7" saucers (for the 6.1" pots, or other sizes also available) here: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XTK26K6. I LOVE these planters. I was getting tired of continually up-planting my tomatoes while waiting for the right weather for outdoor transplanting. I also wanted something I could start small squashes, pepper plants, etc. in. Then I ended up using them for all sorts of other plants too. I came back to order more smaller ones for misc. seed starting, but I'm happy to report that the large ones I left out all year round in the hot sun and they are not faded or brittle at all. Very thick plastic. I love the grey color, could wish they would also come in terra cotta and white as I've seen some saucers in. The saucers are also good and thick, and deep enough they could be used by themselves as succulent trays or the like. Very Very happy with my purchase, especially after years of buying the thinner green or black plastic divided domed kind of planters only to have those melt and warp in the heat or crack from a few months of use. I expect to have these for several years, and can't believe how inexpensive they are relative to that. They could also work as decorative planters for those that like a bit of an industrial feel. For my tastes they work better as a utilitarian seed planting pot, but I feel that for my needs they are definitely worth every penny!

Best - High Quality
High quality, excellent for moving my Monstera and Fiddle Leaf Fig propagations from water to soil. I'll be using these instead of the cheaper, flimsy pots. It actually took a little more research to find a high-quality planting pot like this. The only thing is, it would have been nice if they came with the same high-quality Saucers to catch excess water draining from the pots. I highly recommend the BangQiao Nursery Pots. March 20, 2026 -update: as much as I really like the Nursery Pots, I had to take one star off because the Pots didn't come with water trays.
