ONE THING TO WATCH OUT FOR BUT ON THE WHOLE A GREAT BOOT
This is my third pair of Muck Boots. The First pair were the Derwent model and lasted a few years then got a leak through the sole. The second pair was also a Derwent Model and the sole on one of the boots totally came away. I'm a casual user, not a farmer or tradesperson. I don/t wear them every day but I'd say worked them hard 10 days in a month for 6 months of the year working the land and walking the dog. So here's my review broken down into sections of Comfort, Grip, Warmth, Waterproofing and LongevityCOMFORTSo, I've just received this pair of Edgewater II's. First impressions are very good. The first thing I noticed is that where both of my Derwent boots had a steel reinforced ankle area (or something like steel) which used to hurt until it was worn in (it was too high and rubbed) the material around the heel and Achilles tendon is flexible ... time will tell if this is good or bad.Overall the insole comfort is exceptional, soles are flexible and I wasn't feeling the prods of rocks or stones through the sole. They are also light, very light in fact, and I felt Iike I could power walk in them. The upper part of the boot is not too loose and not too tight so shouldn't have any problem getting trousers in there. Size wise they fit better than expected with my previous experience with MBCoGRIPI took them for a walk over the following surfaces and found the grip to be:Wet Cobbles on the flat - quite slippy laterally (side to side)Wet Cobbles covered in leaves on severe incline and Decline - to be honest they held up okWet tarmac - quite slippy laterallyWet Moss over Tarmac - OKGrass - ExcellentFlat Mud - OKMud on a severe camber - OK, some slipping laterally but actually better than expectedOne thing I have noticed is the grip is ok in the direction of travel but its the side to side grip that feels loose. Also the sole cleans itself well! really well, got them muddy and a few minutes walking on grass and they were all cleaned up. Mud didnt seem to clog up which is a total bonus! All that said these are a pair of wellies, not hiking boots or running shoes. You want a sole that performs on the surface it will be used for the purpose most people will need it these will most likely do. These are marketed by MBCo as "Edgewater II are the multi-purpose boots that will look after your feet in the garden, on your muddy dog walk or as you head into town on a rainy day". I'd say they are better on soft terrain than hard.WARMTHOk, 5mm Neoprene, insulated sole = a warm boot. Exceptional for Use aroundI'm going to guess with what these are made of eg rubber and neoprene. These are insulated waterproof boots. Not a pair of crocs. They're not for a summers day and I don't care for it when manufacturers use the word breathable on boots, that lets face it, really wont end up being. I'll be working them hard over the next two late autumn days and I can guarantee I'll have sweaty feet by the end of it.But when you need a warm boot to stop freezing toes - these tick the boxWATERPROOFINGExcellent. I jumped in a stream 1" from the top of the boot with no leakage, right foot only though I wouldnt have been able to get out if I'd stuck the other one in!LONGEVITYWell this is the big question isnt it. I'd say I got 2 years each out of my last two pairs. According to my estimate earlier on I used my Derwent boots approx 120 times each. TBH that sounds pretty bad and if I got this out of these £75 boots that would be 62p per wear. Hmmm. So, you pay more for a boot that is comfy and warm and performs well but how long will it last for before something goes wrong. One of the reasons I chose this pair is because the sole design is TOTALLY different to the Derwent boot, I'm hoping that that wrap around lip of the sole clings on tight with lots of walking and work in the garden.OVERALLA great boot with thermal retention and waterproofing but sadly that little bit of slip in the grip drops it from 5 stars 4 but then pops it back up to 5 stars because of how well the sole cleaned itself meaning - I love it.

It’s a pair of wellies
Comfortable, waterproof and warm. What you’d expect from Muckboots

Great but will they last?
In my experience boots whether cheap or pricey don’t last longer than a year before splitting. These look well made and the souls look sturdy but the real test is longevity and you don’t know that I the first few months. For now though, I’m happy.

Muck boot drops in quality
Love my Muck boots, last pair were hard wearing and comfortable and only replaced as they wore out. This new pair are not as wide or comfortable they look less robust. Time will tell but suspect I will change earlier just from a comfort view point and may not be muck boots again. May be cheaper to produce in China but the fit and quality suffers.

Neoprene muck boots for all weathers
I bought these boots to keep my feet warm and dry as I suffer from Renauds..They are indeed warm, but I haven't tried them in the cold weather yetNot a boot I would wear to go on a walk over hill and dale, as they are heavy, and don't give enough flexibility as I found to my cost..For walking the dog on even terrain or slight hills it would be ok..They seem to cope with very muddy and slippery conditions, but in a walk through a national trust wood etc, I found it made me work twice as hard, this might not be the case for others .. Otherwise recommend

comfy enough
very comfortable & fairly warm unless standing still in cold weather, then the soles get very cold.biggest gripe is the tread, which simply doesn't last & they get very slippy & zero grip pretty quickly - after a few months only in fact. After a year or so of admittedly constant wear, they basically fall apart. Too expensie for what they are.

Great comfort, not such great grip
I am an avid walker and I do not let cold and wet winters get in my way. In the past I have worn hiking boots with gaiters but sadly no matter how good the boot the top is always prone to getting wet and soggy feet. This winter I decided to try to find some 'walking wellies'. They need to be warm and waterproof. I first tried a pair of Aigle Parcours 2 which were too tight across the foot for me and after reading a review on a rambling website I went for a pair of these.I really like the fit, support and comfort. I have wide feet and calves and the boots are very comfortable and I've never had a sniff of any discomfort whatsoever. I wear my wellies with long ski socks and my feet have always been warm and dry. I'm not sure how hot your feet may get in the summer in these but I'll hopefully be back into my walking boots by then. What I don't like is the grip. The tread pattern on the bottom is bizarre, I am sure there are good scientific reasons for this but in anything but the tiniest bit of mud I find my feet slipping way too much. Plus on hard, wet surfaces they really do not feel secure at all. However the comfort stays.I am sure there is a really good reason why someone cannot add the sole of a walking boot to the body of wellie boot but if they could I would definitely have a pair! However I am not a farmer, I'm not a horsey person and I don't live in them. I just walk in them, for miles. I guess it depends on what your needs are, I don't think you would be too disappointed with these, If they had better grip in reasonable mud and wet pavements I would heartily recommend them for walkers but I wouldn't buy another pair for my needs.
