This is what you need if...
I have two generators, one small (4kw) and one large (8kw), both from the same manufacture. They have different 220v outlet configurations. The difference was the "locking" tab. On one generator it was up and on the second generator it was down. This adapter allowed me to use the same cord on both units. I don't use both at the same time so why buy another expensive cord, so this adapter worked great.

Great adapter
The adapter worked perfect. I was able to take my extension cord with a 20 amp plug on it and plug the cord into the adapter which then gave me a 30 amp plug to plug into the 30 amp receptacle on my generator. The adapter worked so well that I am going to order another adapter for another generator that I have.

Works exactly as described.
Perfect for connecting the cable to the house from my old generator to the new one without having to rewire the cable. Basically plug & play. Rugged.Means I can use my old generator as backup.

Solution to my problem
I have a 20 amp power inlet box hooked up to my cabin electrical panel. So all I have to do is turn off main breaker and connect the generator cord to this inlet. The reason I needed this adapter is I got a new generator which has a 30 amp plug which is different than my old generator which has a 20 amp plug. This adapter solved my problem by coverting 30 amp down to 20 amp so I don’t have to replace the power inlet box with a 30 amp box. Since I’m not going to exceed 20 amps it will be safe and running already through a dual 20 amp circuit breaker will also provide protection.
