These work great. Note that the subassemblies are also screwed together. Be careful not to disassemble while only trying to disconnect the hose.

I’ve been using garden hose back flow regulators for 30 years. I’m familiar with their function and operation. We had an old leaky one, so I ordered this new two-pack. After trying both repeatedly, they simply didn’t work. The expected water evacuation (spray from the valve) did not occur. Also, the devices produced a lot of noise when the hose was running. The reviews are generally good, so I guess we just had some rare issue with both valves. Rather than exchanging them, we went on to a different brand. I’m sure the seller would have made good, but we decided to skip the hassle. EDIT: We purchased another brand and it works properly. That seems to rule out any role of the hose type or our hose bib etc.

SHIPPING WAS VERY PROMPT....PACKAGED GOODS WERE IN GOOD SHAPE. NOT SURE IF THE VALVE REALLY WORKS AS A BACK-FLOW RELEASE..OR MERELY A BREAK TO KEEP HOSE WATER OUT. VERY NOISY WHEN THE GATE VALVE IS OPENED FULLY.

These seem to be well made and I liked the good quality hose washer and Teflon tape included. The most difficult part is removing the old back flow preventer. I found an angle grinder works well, but you need a gentle hand. It is ok if you scuff the threads of the faucet some because the water seal is between the washer and the flat bottom of the faucet.

Worthless replacement parts that don't work and fail to prevent backflow. Newly installed and pretty much acts as a useless coupler while failing to relieve pressure once the water is shut off. Avoid this defective brand and supplier at all costs. This product failed to come with a user guide and even a spec sheet, leaving certification, quality, and tolerance in question. Dealing with these low costs suppliers is exhausting.

These are very well constructed compared to the plastic one I have. They should last longer. They connect fine and work as they should. The only issues I had with both is at both outside taps when the water was running they would make on and off high pitch humming / squealing sounds. Definitely wakes you up if your system is on the timer. I tried purging any air in system, tried turning taps on and off, even tired the tap only half on to help reduce pressure but it didn’t stop it. I ended up removing them from my tap directly and moved them further down the hose to another connection. I don’t hear the sounds anymore even when running when I’m standing right next to it so it must just be the water pressure at the tap causing the problem. All in all very well built but the sound made it not possible for me to use as I intended. But I am using it just not directly at the house tap.
