UPDATE 10/25.2020- I'm pretty sure they changed the recipe. I gave it a few months and about a half dozen bottles over that time. This was my favorite but I no longer use it. The extract is thicker now and tastes sweet and artificial.I love this product. I get grumpy if I run out before my next pantry shipment. It all started about 18 months ago when I became addicted to Trader Joe’s sparkling pineapple water. I couldn’t stand all of the 1L plastic bottles I was going through (about 3-4/day). My husband bought me a soda stream to help cut back on my pineapple sparkling water habit, but I had a difficult time finding a flavoring that I wanted to add to the water. This extract did it for me. I’m not saying that it makes my homemade sparkling water taste like the Trader Joe’s version, it is definitely a different flavor., but it’s one that I love equally as much and what could be better than walking into the kitchen and making it whenever I want? My daily water intake has tripled because of this extract.

Excellent flavor and perfect concentration

I needed this to make pineapple cake and it worked perfectly. This is not a common flavor to find and sugar fee too. Exactly what I needed.

This is more concentrated than other extracts, including from this company. Ive used it exclusively in soda water. At first I was putting too much and it was irritating my throat, so much I thought it was a defect in the product, and I'd have to throw it away. But it turns out, you just need a tiny dash to give a decent pineapple flavor (and strong aroma), which doesn't irritate the throat!

I have ordered Olive Nation pure pineapple extract in the past, and been happy with it. When I ordered it again, and received the product, it was labeled as "Pineapple Flavor Extract." I called the company, as I know that flavors and pure extracts are two different things. I was informed that an internal company review determined that the label should reflect the name of pineapple flavor extract, rather than pure pineapple extract, but that the company had not yet updated their Amazon page to reflect new images. In other words, if you ordered Olive Nation's pure pineapple extract in the past, and you were happy with it, you are getting the same exact product, just with a different name now. I hope this helps anyone who may have had the same questions that I did. As a general rule, I only use pure extracts. However, I have this product in the past and had good results, so I will continue to use it.

The aroma is wonderful. However, when using it to flavor frosting it was very subtle. I had to add quite a bit, which gave it a bit of a harsh aftertaste. The harshness did mellow after sitting for a day or so but the flavor wasn't as prominent as I had hoped for.

This product costs more to ship than the value of the item. It to took two weeks to arrive and when baking with it it has a very sharp chemical taste and aftertaste. It does not taste anywhere close to pineapple. I'd encourage you to look for another product.
