Afro-Caribbean Rhythms for the Drumset: Afro-Caribbean Rhythms for the Drum Set (Spanish, English Language Edition), Book & Online Audio

I haven't started work on this book yet, but it seems to be fairly comprehensive. As a fan of Chuck Silverman's videos on Youtube etc., this is a book I think will really help in advancing my Afro Cuban studies.

Excellent book from a master drummer

My teacher has the older copy and that’s how I got turned on to this book in the first place. The new book looks more comprehensive and I’m sure there’s new stuff. The Latin and Funk connection is layed out for you in this book. Essentially you can learn how to play Latin grooves for different musical situations and then Chuck shows you the Funk connection. There’s also play alongs!

I love the late great Chuck Silverman and everything he did. With that being said, I bought this and when I tried to listen to the CD's they were blank. Unfortunately the window for returns had closed so Amazon could only offer me a $15 credit. I'm a bit disappointed in that, but it's an uncommon occurrence and I'm sure you'll get good CD's.

This book shows all the essential beats used in Afro-caribean music and how to incorporate them in the drumset. Probably my favorite style of music.

I will like to suggest if you can protect more the books in the delivery, sometimes they arrive a little bit mistreated.
