How can i get it to stop blowing out too many bubbles? It is often sucking in too much air and blows so many bubbles it frightens my fish.

I cut the skimmer media in half and sandwiched some filter floss the tweet the two half’s. I haven’t had micro bubbles since. Perhaps it just slowed the flow similar to closing the output slide. I do know it that cleans the water a bit more this way as an added benefit.

Can the suction cups be replaced?

I don’t see that they can. You can figure out a work around with plasti-molded magents though. Worked just fine on my older skimmer.

is this unit self adjust for different water level?

About an inch of play really. The plastic top that slides in the top of the unit is about 2 and1/2 inches long, so it can handle an inch fluctuation either way. This didn’t work for me since my sump water level raises about 5 inches when I turn off my return pump for feeding. IMO this is a great in tank skimmer for 75 gallon or less, but not great for a sump in my case.

can this skimmer replace the built in skimmer on the aquatop Recife 24 gallon aquarium?

This skimmer is not a protein skimmer if you’re using the Aqua top reef as salt water then no this will not do the job
