Great image
Great price and excellent image quality. The camera has more room inside than the 4MP version to store the cable so you don't have to drill a hole.

No better than 4MP (2K) Camera
I was extremely disappointed in this camera. I thought I was upgrading, figuring 4K would allow me to see more detail. This model does not. I have 7 Hikvision cameras. They all function well, look good full screen. But they all have the same flaw.... you cannot zoom in on an image to get more detail on a face or license plate. I was shocked a license plate on this camera was worse that my 4MP Hikvision bullet cam. Same distance, same camera location, same car location. Also, I have this camera located inside of a window, so using the IR doesn't work, I turn it off. THe bullet cam does really well, getting color on a dimly lit street. This turret cam is aweful w/o IR... no picture at all at night. Needless to say, I returned it.

Good 4K POE camera
The HIKVISON 4K POE camera has a lot of great things going for it, and a few holding it back. Overall it feels well-built physically, great camera footage and features, but lacks on the software execution side.Included in the box are a quick start guide, CD, drill guide, slightly longer install guide, the camera itself, Ethernet end protector cover, and screws. They do NOT provide a base mount / junction box. The wires go directly out the back with no way to go out a side. So, if you are not putting the wires through the wall behind it, you will need to buy a junction box separately. Which is odd, as they provide Ethernet weather cable covers in the event you do have the wires out exposed to the elements. Everything is packaged securely, so even if handled roughly in transit should still be okay.Physically the thing is sturdy and built to survive the elements. I have no qualms about leaving this outside 27/4. The MicroSD card area is well hidden and protected. The camera angle is adjustable by hand, and held in position by a tension screw. With the video on highest resolution and H.265+ with default image settings, the picture is pretty good, but not exception fine detail. As it is a wide angle 2.8mm lens, you won’t get fine detail at a lot of distance, so you probably want to stick with the 4mm or more if you want to capture license plates at greater than 20 feet.Connecting to the web interface of the camera requires to use IE to get access to all the features, a big red flag. Even worse, not everything seems to function correctly. I still have not been able to download pictures or videos from the microSD card. It also does not seem to have file rotation (aka the microSD card can fill up), and if it does, it is not documented.Speaking of documentation, you don’t get any manuals or guides on how to navigate the UI or help for acronyms in the interface. As a software engineer, I feel this must have been designed and written by the intern of the lowest bidder. Yes, most of it works, but be very thankful you can just use the ONVIF features and hook it up to a real NVR security system.I do think I would buy this again if looking for more cameras, but I would definitely keep an eye on the competition as well.
