pros : 1. first of all sound quality is excellent as expected 2. wide sound stage, of course this is a open back headphone 3. comfortable fit even for long periods 4. attractive design 5. treble and vocals are excellent and it has crisp bass. 6. natural sound cons : 1. not good for gaming 2. not good for bass lovers. as it is a headphone mainly for sound mixing,bass will not be so pronounced. 3. cost is high. but surely it is a value for money headphone. 4. not a portable headphone design and build quality : 9/10 sound quality : 9/10 sound stage : 10/10 portability : 6/10 Overall : 9/10

I am in love with open back headphones because of these. 700x is my very first open back headphone. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, they are very good at what they are intended to do. I also have audio technica ath m50x which is a closed back headphone and is a legend in its category but 700x being an open back headphone sounds much better than m50x in every aspect of music, be it clarity, soundstage and impedance. The only thing that 700x lacks is bass response. Bass is inferior than m50x but it's okay with me. Believe you me guys, go for 700x if you want to experience the magic of open back headphones. Audio technica rocks!

These are Open Back headphones. This is a little different from the typical headphones most people have. Since they are open back, the focus is more on soundstage (how wide the sound is and from how far it seems to come) and it does it really well. But this doesnt have the typical treble and bass heavy personality. This one has a great neutral feel to it. You cant really make out in typical bollywood and EDM music. But if you listen to classic rock, jazz, blues, you would be surprised. It leaks sound outside so it not really for wearing in the metro (not portable) and the cable is very very long. Only reason i didnt give 5 stars is because for the price. At this price the AD900x which is slightly better, should be in worth. Suggested Usage: Listening to Jazz, Classic Rock, Instrumental, Ghazals, etc Best used with: Tube headphone amp really makes it sound very very good. Pros: 1) Great soundstage 2) Very comfortable 3) Accurate sound 4) Long cable to sit far from your source 5) Easy to drive (no need for a headphone amp, although recommended) Cons: 1) Leaks sound (its designed that way, not really a con) 2) Headband is slightly loose (a rubber band can fix it easitly though) 3) Highs can be slightly edgy (fatiguing​) if not using a tube amp.

My first open back headphones to start the journey to the audiophile world. Great sound.. People complain about the bass though, but it has a decent amount of low end and nice airy presentation of the highs and mids. Listening to acoustic and live performances is an absolute pleasure from a headphone at this price range. Proves itself extraordinary for low-key EDM or electro genres like chillstep and ambient as well. Also tested with BF3 and COD:BO3 and found the wide stereo imaging to be helpful for pin-pointing sound sources.

The sound quality right out of the box is absolutely incredible. I do have a small-ish head, and the headphones seems to be supported by my ears more than my head, but they are still comfortable to wear over extended periods. Over multiple 5-6 hour gaming sessions, I found myself adjusting the headphones a couple of times, but never experienced any discomfort from wearing them. The 2 tiny head supports almost feel too delicate though, and I find myself treating them with a lot more care and affection than I would like.

My first pair of open back headphones. Audio Technica doesn't fail to surprise me. If you are new to open back headphones look no further. I heard some people complaining about lack of bass but it can be fixed by tweaking the eq settings. My only complaint is the long cable , but it might be of use to some.

I grew up amongst a bunch of stereophiles, dwelling in speaker boxes, horns, electrostatic and ribbon speakers from brands like Roger, Audio Research, Apogee, Krell, etc......as well as vinyl turntables, vacuum tube amplifiers. So I only knew speakers could sound really really good. And the recording makes a huge difference as well. Before this pair of ATH-AD700x, I already had a pair of ATH-EM7 on ears since 20 years back. They sound ok, but never like the speakers. Fast forward 20 years, my gal asked for a pair of headphones. She had never heard of Audio Technica before this and after letting hear my 20 yr olds ATH-EM7, she was shock that such an old pair still sounded so good. So she finally chose a pair of ATH-ANC900BT (tha all black one). Gosh I was amazed by the sound quality. Definitely better than my 20 yr old EM7. Then I went on a small spree and got myself a cheap pair of ATH-AVS200 (for movies), a pair of ATH-EQ300M (modern version of the EM7), and a pair of ATH-250AV (for movies). The AVS200 and 250AV sounded better than most headphones, but defniitely not as good as the ANC900BT. Then I compared it with my wife's pair of ATH-WS660BT (which seems to have more bass than the ANC900BT), and also my nephew's Sony WH-1000XM5. The 1000XM5 has plenty bass and good for someone who loves bass, but pales in comparison with the AD700X and the other Audio Technicas. The AD700X (IMO) beats even the ANC900BT and the WS660BT (which are more dynamic). The recording definitely makes a difference. Listening to mediocre recording on the AD700X sounds similar to listening to high fidelity flac recordings on the AVS200 or 250AV. Or like the ANC900BT or WS660BT on average recordings. The AD700X with hi-fi flac recordings just sound sublime, crystal clear. Really the monitor headphones you would want to have. They elevate mediocre recordings. Now I wondering how will the AD900X/1000X/2000X will sound like. Or how the A1000X or W1000Z will sound like. I cannot imagine.

So, I was in the market for some new headphones. A friend of mine had suggested the AudioTechnica ATH-M50x, but after perusing lots of extensive reviews on them I decided against them. The most important factor to me is comfort, and from what I had been reading about those, they weren't necessarily bad headphones, they just weren't very good ~$200 headphones. And apparently, they take "some getting used to" in terms of comfort. I was turned off by both of these sentiments and decided to look for something else. I figured open-back may be the way to go, and eventually settled on a pair of the ATH-AD700X's. In my opinion, the best things about these headphones are, ironically, things a lot of people have outlined in their own reviews here as being negatives. Let's start with the mechanism these use to stay on your head. You have likely seen many reviews here saying the mechanism these headphones use is "too loose". In my opinion, they are not too loose at all. They grip your head with a very light, feathery touch. At first it may feel like they could slip off if you just tilt your head the wrong way, but they will not. Unless you're thrashing your head to some VERY SERIOUS metal there is no way these are going to fall off, whether you're laying down in bed or sitting in a chair. Also, I have always had difficulty laying down in bed and using big headphones. More often than not, the cans just get shoved into strange, awkward positions, or the whole thing is really just gripping my head way too tight and it gets VERY uncomfortable VERY quickly. That is not the case with these headphones. They are extremely comfortable to wear in bed, and they sound great too. Next, let's go to the cable. I've seen SO MANY reviews saying they hate the cable for being "too long", and they hate how the cable "coils up." In my opinion, these are actually things worthy of praise. I would rather have a pair of headphones with a cable that is too long than a pair with a cable that is one inch too short. NOTHING is more frustrating than that. As for the cable "coiling up", when in use this is never a problem. The cable is so long that any coiling is going to occur pretty far away from your body. And the cable "coiling up" sounds like a bad thing at first, until you see HOW it is coiling up. This cable has a tendency to coil up into the shape it was originally packaged in. So if you put the headphones away somewhere, you can rest assured knowing the cable will VERY EASILY arrange itself back into a very space efficient form factor. This is a pro to me, because I do not have a dedicated microphone. So I will often switch between headphones when using my computer. Additionally, you will know the cable is also SAFE in these conditions. I have broken many headphones over the years because I have poorly maintained the cable. This cable going into the exact arrangement I need when I wish to store it somewhere, with very little effort on my part, is a godsend and I am totally cool with that. Now that these two are out of the way, let's move into some more pros. The sound is great. I'm not an audiophile, so I have no opinion on how "chocolatey" the mids are or how "minty" the treble is, or whatever buzzwords those people like to use to describe their sound equipment. But what I can tell you is, the sound is very clear and crisp and you will no doubt pick up on details in music that you never heard before, especially if you've spent your whole life using substandard, cheap headphones or "gaming" headsets. I play a digital piano through my DAW software, and immediately I could tell a massive difference in not just the overall quality, but also the clarity in the finer details of the various piano libraries I had been using for months --- details I previously did not even know were there. And this is straight, out of box performance. No EQ, not even hooked into an audio interface. Just plugging right into a line output on my computer case. So, how about audio clarity in a noisy environment? In my opinion, ambient background noises are only SLIGHTLY easier to hear through these, than my usual pair of closed-back headphones. I have a fan in my room that I run pretty much all the time on the lowest setting. Even with my usual pair of closed-back headphones, I can hear the fan. The only time I can't is if I barrage my ears with a constant stream of very loud noises. The same exact case applies with these headphones. If the sound is loud enough you will be completely tuned out to any external noises. I don't even need them that loud to reach a point that they overpower the sound of my whirring fan. Are there any cons I can think of? Not really. I guess they aren't quite as bassy as my usual headphones could get, but I prefer that. Sometimes stuff would just sound so...mixed up and muddied on my other headphones, and that was all due to their closed design. I'm sure someone with vastly superior background in audio equipment can find something to dislike about these headphones, but I'm a simple man. As that kind of person, I really can not find anything to dislike about these headphones. So far they have been a blast and I am loving them. If you are a relatively simple person too, and you just want to get something better than whatever dollar store headphones you've been using for years, these will definitely be good value to you. I will not be giving any rating towards "Noise Cancellation", because these are not noise cancelling headphones. Why that is even something I can rate on these doesn't really make any sense to me.

In assoluto la miglior cuffia per fps competitivi sotto i 200€. Si tratta di una cuffia aperta (quindi senza alcun tipo di isolamento contro rumori esterni) , necessario l'utilizzo in ambienti poco rumorosi per apprezzarne appieno le qualità. Il loro soundstage incredibilmente ampio e l'elevata tridimensionalità vi permetteranno di posizionare i nemici con estrema facilità . Facili da pilotare anche grazie alla loro bassa impedenza. Hanno gli stessi driver audio delle ath-ADG1X che in più offrono il microfono incorporato, valutate al momento dell'acquisto quale più si adatta alle vostre esigenze. Due piccole note dolenti su il supporto per la testa (nel primo periodo di utilizzo si ha la sensazione di una cuffia poco salda, sinceramente non ho mai avuto problemi) e il cavo (non staccabile, si intreccia facilmente). Difetti che comunque non vanno ad intaccare un prodotto eccellente. in foto vedete queste Ath-700x sulla sinistra mentre a destra le mie altre cuffie gaming chiuse, delle beyerdynamic dt-770. Acquistatele ad occhi chiusi. Se avete domande sarò ben lieto di rispondere nei commenti. Diffidate da recensori che non riportano la scritta "acquisto verificato" in quanto probabilmente non hanno esperienza diretta sul prodotto.

Estaba acostumbrado a la versión cerrada de estos audifonos (los ATH-M50), en los cuales el bajo resalta mucho más.... Así que escuchar este tipo de audífonos (abiertos) cuesta trabajo acostumbrarse (ténganle calma si vienen de un background similar). La fineza y detalles en medios y agudos es notoria desde la primera vez. Sin embargo en lo personal si me quede con esa espinita del detalle de bajos... creo que depende mucho de gustos y del tipo de musica que escuches (yo los uso para producir musica electronica, entonces talvez el sonido de bajo es algo que busco más la hora de escuchar). En cuanto a comodidad se refiere son muy ligeros pero no son ajustados... entonces acomodarlos en el spot perfecto puede ser batalloso (más si eres como yo que se está moviendo mientras escucha) ya que se van cayendo poco a poco.
