Selectip Gel Rollingball Pen Refill, Black, 1 per Card (8523)

This is the proper refill for my wonderful heavy Cross pen that Cross no longer produces (which is awful because it is heavy and is the only pen, I can use to write so anyone can read because I have essential tremor), but back to the refill. The ink flows freely with no blots, the ink flows at a consistent rate from the minute the point touches the paper, it dries quickly. The only time it starts to skip is right when it runs out and I have always thought that was a big help and great way to let you know time for a new refill. One word of caution. It will not write on photographs that are glossy or glossy paper. The slick paper (like wax paper) does not allow for the ball to gain traction.

Love this ink! I write often, and I’m usually replacing these inks every three months. I have two primary Cross pens that I use regularly. Great contact on paper, and just enough friction in the flow to write neatly. One downside, is that it takes a second for the ink to dry on the page. So make sure you don’t smear what you’ve just written.

Good quality refill.

This refill is not reliable. I end up traveling with hotel pens in my briefcase as back up because my beautiful Cross pen works when it feels like it, not when I need it to.
