PUPPIA International Puppia Harness Soft B Vest RED Large

I have been looking for a harness that is easy to put on our West Highland Terrier. He is having a pacemaker placed in his neck and it is imperative that he have a comfortable alternative to his collar. Most of the harness choices are complicated and not something my husband is going to want to mess with. Also if we have a dog walker come in, I don't want to risk our dog's health with something put on incorrectly. This is well made, attractive, and a no brainer. It goes so easily. I place it open on the floor, place his 2 front paws into the holes and the rest just wraps up and secures with velcro, and finally there is one well constructed plastic clasp. The 2 rings on the back fold over the clasp for securing to a leash. The best thing of all is the rings do not roll or move down the side of the dog during a walk. That drives me crazy. They stay on the dog's back where they belong. Our dog weighs 18 lbs. The large size fits but I ordered a second in XL since when he has surgery I don't want anything too well fitted. Since he alternates in weight between 16 lbs and 18.5 lbs, I am set. I don't think these will work too well for big dogs as Westies are pretty small as a breed and we are into the L and XL for a fit. Beware Big dog owners but Bravo for any small dog owners. This is great! Also I thought the Camo style was pretty cute for our city dog. A fashion statement of sorts.

Brilliant design for a puppy. Simple to put on, fits perfectly on our 11 week old 5 pound Havanese puppy. The only issue we had was the lack of any sizing info. So, we ordered an xs and exchanged it.

I ordered the small first for my 12# dog. It looked like it would fit a 6# dog. I ordered the large next since the small was so tiny. The large was too large. I returned the small and the large and ordered the medium. It fit perfectly and I as exactly what I wanted. He is a Bichon and can somehow get out of a lot of harnesses. This looks very comfortable and he is secure.

I’ve purchased this harness over 6 times in the last few months — unfortunately my puppy likes to chew through it. That said, it is durable, just not indestructible. The brand offers a lot of color options, which I love, and I really like the 2-system safety feature. My dog is about 18 pounds and the size medium fits well. Overall, it’s a good harness, especially if your dog isn’t a heavy chewer.

Got a size L for my 16lbs mini poodle mix- it fits and looks great! She came with a Puppia medium but it hardly fit, and the medium of another brand was a little big and wonky for her, and not as much fabric (easier for her to slip out of). This one is sturdy, enough fabric, and feels safer. Definitely worth a few extra bucks!

The soft vest harness is well-made and appears very comfortable and durable. The large size was too big and bulky for my 11 pound poodle, but the customer service was excellent and refunded my money. My poodle has a very slender build (chest diameter of 16.5 inches), so the size that would best fit an 11 pound dog of another breed might well be the large size. You might have to do as I did and get one of each size to see what fits the best. Be advised that the jump from the medium size to the large is appreciable: it's not just the diffence in chest diameter the harness will accomodate - the hardware is considerably larger and more heavy duty on the large harness. It would be ideal if there was a size between the medium and the large, but the medium was barely able to fit my poodle comfortably because the fabric is a little stretchy and not stiff at all. The corresponding size to a medium in this vest style to the style of Puppia soft harness that has a fixed neck opening is a size small. The hardware goes from dainty to larger when you go from the small to the medium in the style with the fixed neck opening. This vest style is slightly more involved to put on than the style with the fixed neck opening, but I prefer it for my poodle because she pulls when she sees a person or another dog. When she pulls, the vest harness doesn't put any pressure at all on her trachea area whereas the one with the fixed neck opening does a little. Granted, had I gone with the medium rather than the small in the fixed neck opening style, that may not have been an issue. Another reason I prefer the vest harness over the other is that it seems a little more comfortable. Also, since it's a little vest, it gives my poodle a bit of warmth in a cool house and I feel good about leaving it on her all day. I love Puppia's Soft Vest Harness so well that I really, REALLY wish it came in "designer" colors and little frilly designs, too! The Puppia soft harness with the fixed neck opening has some absolutely adorable versions! I'm impressed with the look, quality, and comfort of the Puppia vests. Now that I know my dog's size, I'll order a couple of different colors in the soft vest style and hope for some new, frilly versions in the near future!

I bought this harness in size medium for my 10 pound mini dachshund puppy and it fits well. It is a little bit loose around the neck area but she'll grow into it. Her chest is around 14inches and her neck is 9.5inches. Since the velcro part is adjustable, I can put the harness over her sweater and her jacket. I tried many other harnesses before deciding that this one is the easiest one to use, and the most comfortable for my pup. The other harnesses were very hard to close/open the clasp and difficult to put on my dog since it had to go over her head. Some other harnesses I used seemed to choke my dog or hurt her throat when she pulled on the leash but this one does not seem to hurt her at all. If you are worried about your dog being able to escape the harness, as long as you get the right size, it shouldn't be a problem. However, if the harness is a little loose, your dog may be able to back out of the harness. I don't think I am going to ever use a different harness again! I have been using this harness for about 3 months now and it has gotten a bit dirty but it is still holding up very well and the velcro has not worn out at all. I definitely recommend this harness for puppies and dachshunds. It is a little more expensive than some other harnesses found on amazon but it is definitely worth it.

Purtroppo ho dovuto restituirla perché troppo piccola per il torace del mio bulldog inglese di 70 cm, ci ho sperato le andasse ma il prodotto è veramente bello il colore brillante e il tessuto di ottima qualità e traspirante! Peccato non sia possibile acquistare la XXXL perché non disponibile. 😞

Great harness... my pup hated having to have her previous harness pulled over her head, so she much prefers this one. It's well made, sturdy, and fit's pretty well. I have a Cavapoo puppy, so she has a very slight frame. As a result there's a little room around her chest on the front, but it's still a really good fit. I've had two of these, as we bought the medium size for our pup when she was younger, and she's now grown into a large. We loved the harness so much that we bought the same one in a larger size. To give you a size reference, we got our pup the medium size when she was about 3kg in weight. We switched her over to the large when she was just over 5kg. She's now just over 7kg in weight and there's still a bit of room for her to grow into it further. The main clip cannot be adjusted to be made tighter, but the jacket is essentially held on by the large velcro strap behind it, and there is a little room for adjustment there. Overall, couldn't be happier. The pup hardly knows it's on when she's wearing it, it looks great, and it's very well made. Highly recommended.
