Great value for an electric pressure washer. Rated #1 by pressurewashr.com
For home use, I think this is the best pressure washer for the money. I am extremely pleased with the AR390SS pressure washer. I have only had it three days, but have cleaned my concrete full length front porch, my gutters and vinyl awning, and have started on an enormous deck (48ft x 48ft surrounding a pool. What was I thinking?) The deck is in bad shape. It is 20 years old, and has not been kept up as it should have been, so very weathered and covered in black/grey. I painted it with Deck Restore a few years ago (don't ever buy this crap) and most of it came off. I am using the AR390SS to clean the deck, and it is working really better than I had expected. I have looked at a lot of videos on cleaning decks, and see some using a 15degree nozzle. The AR390SS has only a 25degree fan nozzle, so I have ordered a 15degree. With the 25degree, I have to get pretty close to the wood to get it clean, and I have started using OxiClean mix to help break it up. The AR390SS has a detergent tank, but the detergents that won't harm the sprayer are pretty worthless, and you should NOT use OxiClean mix in this tank. I use a brush and bucket to put down the Oxi wash, let it sit 10 minutes, then use an old floor scrubber with natural brushes to scrub it before washing it off with the sprayer. Better, but still won't come clean unless I work on about a 3inch strip each pass (very close to the wood). I'm sure that I am taking off a bit of the soft wood, but plan to paint the deck with KILZ Interior/Exterior Enamel Porch & Patio Latex Floor Paint, which has very good reviews, even a few years after it is applied. Update 07/19/2018: I have used this pressure washer for everything. Cleaning my concrete patios, porches and sidewalk. Cleaning vinyl siding. Cleaning gutters, fascia, and trim. Cleaning my deck and privacy fence has taken me a LOT longer than I had expected (my fault due to years of neglect and a freaking huge deck) so it was a good move on my part to buy this instead of renting one. This paid for itself in two days (vs renting). I still, after a month of nearly daily use, highly recommend this pressure washer. I use the 15 degree nozzle that I bought separately for every job. I don't think the 25 degree would have done the trick. I have used the soap nozzle, and it works fine for spraying cleaner onto the deck/fence. Note: If the washer stops working, check the reset button on the plug. I have accidentally tripped it twice while plugging it into the wall outlet outside.

This is a great little machine that will take care of your house ...
This is a great little machine that will take care of your house needs. It is not a commercial machine but it will make a good homeowner machine. I have a 3000 commercial unit, butafter 20 years of use, me and the machine are old and I decided to get something lighter and easier to use. I bought the 1600 PSi and it worked fine for my use, but gave up the ghost before the warranty ran out. Called custermer service and "Tom" answered the phone time it rang and after helping n=me trouble shoot the machine, he agreed with me that it was defective and within 3 days he sent me a new one which I used for a couple of years. My stepson wanted a pressure washer so I gave it to him and purchased the AR3900SS 2000 Psi. Have had it a couple of weeks and have put it to the test and I really like the extra power, but most of all, I love the soap dispenser for washing my vehicles. I filled the soap bottle a little over half ful of Armourall Carwash and finished filling it with water and it worked perfect with the soap button turned to max, (it probably would work with less but I like putting on lots of cleaner). My car and truck look brand new and it only took a few minutes to wash. I used the green tip, flat spray nozzle. I also did the front of my vinyl sided home in less than 15 minutes with no cleaner. I bought the 10" smooth service cleaner and found out after the fact that I had to order an adapter from Blue Clean to use it on this model. It was my mistake for not reading the fine print on amazon. They listed the models it would fit and the AR3900 is not listed. Anyway, I had the adapter shipped and in 3 days got it and used it to clean over 100ft of walks and it worked well and did a good job. Not as well as my commercial one, but did a good job for the light machine.. My commercial machine was $3000 and this one with the accessories was less than $300 and it does all I want it to do and does it in a timely fashion. I am very satisfied. It is nice to do business with a company who answers the phone and solves your problems if you have any. Great company and great Pressure Wassher

Got it together and was loving it - way sturdier and more powerful than the crappy Home Depot model it replaced
*UPDATED BELOW* Just took it out of the box today. Some small assembly required. Needs a 5/16 or 8mm Allen wrench - I had to search but luckily I had one. Got it together and was loving it - way sturdier and more powerful than the crappy Home Depot model it replaced. It was doing a great job cleaning the deck! For about 45 minutes. Then it just quit. I thought it was a breaker or GFCI, but no. Unless the GFCI on the unit itself is defective. No warning, no sounds or smoke or anything. Will have to return it. Hopefully it goes smoothly and a replacement works better. ****update**** I returned this for a replacement. The replacement arrived in 2 days. I was very pleasantly surprised how smoothly the return process went. UPS not only brought the return label, they even boxed it back up for us and took it out of the house. Can't get any more hassle free than that, though that is likely an exception to hos it is supposed to go. Having the experience of putting it together the first time, I was up and running in 5 minutes. Finished washing the entire deck in no time. What impresses me is the fact that the connections are very sturdy. Not cheap plastic, but serious connections that are easy and very solid. The pressure is good, the unit works great. I am guessing the issue was with the unit's own GFCI, based on the behavior of the replacement unit's GFCI responding differently. Only other suggestion I have is to include an allen wrench in that size. I have both a metric and a standard allen wrench combo tool, and the standard did not go big enough. The metric one barely did. Many homeowners are not going to have one that big, and if I had to go to the store before using the washer that would have been a bummer. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Works great; purchased accessories with savings over gas unit
Ordered the product to replace a 1650 psi unit that finally died after nearly 10 years of use. Struggled with this decision between gas and electric and when you read other reviews, you release that there is always someone that hates everything. After struggling and looking locally, I decided to purchase the AR Blue Clean AR390SS, which is 2000 psi model. I also purchased a few other accessories (like a hose extension, extra o-rings as I'll need them sooner or later and a snow lance) and the washer arrived one day after all the other accessories. I was worried about shipping damage, as that was mentioned by others. There was none. The original carton was in another carton which was in a box with essentially no packing. Assembled in a couple minutes and turned to washing a car. My old unit stopped cutting out the motor when the trigger was released, so I have to get used to that again. Always a good idea to purge the hose of air as that can be a temporary disruption if you hit an air pocket. I get more pressure from this unit that my previous Husky model but less fatigue. The stream is strong and the tips are easy to change out. The hose does retain some amount of the reel loops, but nothing unmanageable (like others said, don't pull the hose off the reel from a distance ...pull the hose off the reel before you start using it to prevent tipping). Tip: For those that need the power of gas, you should buy gas. Most household uses are handled sufficiently by a unit like this at the cost of a little more time and less chance to damage what you're cleaning. Electric units do not have the maintenance concerns like gas units do. Will 2000 work so much better than 1950? No. Better than 1700? Probably. But do I need 3000? Realistically, no. Product concerns: The clip that holds the top part of the wand doesn't always stay attached to the unit, so that needs to be pushed back on occasionally. Would be nice if there was a pocket for the GFCI/outlet block to store it easier. Overall, small items and will not keep me from using the product. I've had for a couple weeks and used twice (once to wash a car and once to clean a deck) and find the 25 degree tip and the turbo tip together make for a great combination. Would purchase again based on what I know now.

Plastic parts crack and break
November 2019 - Realized I never updated this review. The company sent me the water inlet part that broke. They knew exactly what I needed and sent it out quickly (suggesting my experience isn't uncommon). Was all ready to follow the video and fix the part. Turns out you need a screwdriver so long to take the thing apart that I couldn't even find it to order on Amazon. Washed my hands of the whole thing and bought a different (and highly rated) electric pressure washer from a chain store - my new pressure washer was probably $50 more than this one and since it has metal parts and fittings, it weighs at least twice as much (and the warranty is a year longer) - so learned my lesson adjusted my review to one star and will never buy a plastic power washer again. June 2018 - I've sent an email to the company and will update this review if they respond. I bought this pressure washer in September 2016 to replace a gas powered pressure washer that was difficult to maintain. I used it 2 or 3 times last summer to clean a screened in porch. The plastic handle on the hose reel broke the first time I used it, so I stored the hose around the handle. The hose is very stiff so I'm not surprised that the handle broke right away. I got it out earlier today to clean my porch for the summer and noticed that it was leaking like crazy. There is a silver colored attachment for the garden hose and that silver attachment is connected to a black plastic piece that goes into the body of the pressure washer. That black plastic piece apparently cracked over the winter (my pressure washer is stored in a garage that never goes below freezing) and was spraying water everywhere. I checked the website and that is not a part they sell. I haven't disassembled the unit (based on other comments it sounds very difficult to take apart with almost 20 screws - google "Getting to the AR390SS Water Inlet" to see what's involved - assuming I can get the part) - but am disappointed about this fundamental failure after one season of use.

Now, almost perfect.
Okay this is an update as of 3/10/2016: In my original review I said I would have given it 5 stars if it was as described. They finally got it right so here's the 5 stars. I'm now in possession of the new and improved hose and spray gun and it is a night-and-day difference, No more kinks or twists that won't work out. No more junky wire lock to keep the hose in the gun. And mostly, no more coil memory in the new hose. I installed the new hose in a 40-degree morning and it laid out straight. The positive connection for the hose to the gun is now screw in and seals great. If I could have them change one more thing it would be to add a kickstand or something to help make it less tippy. As to AR. Jeez, what an amazing company to deal with. Unlike many manufacturers who seem to have an out-the-door-and-done mentality AR was amazingly interested in feedback. More importantly, they took that feedback and did something with it to greatly improve this product. AR is probably the best company I've ever dealt with in terms of customer support and customer response. Very nice working with them. Original review: If the pressure washer had been as described I'd give it 5 stars but there are 3 serious issues that aren't as described by the manufacturer. First, the hose is a piece of junk, not the "Upgraded braided hose for less kinks" in the description. Imagine the cheap clear vinyl hose from your local hardware store with some reinforcing to handle the pressure. This stuff will not pull straight, keeps trying to coil itself back up, and you end up fighting loops to work. Plus the force the hose exerts leads to problem number two: this thing tips over real easily. I have yet to be able to unreel the hose without holding the unit upright while I fight the coils of hose off the reel. Once the hose is off the reel all the force is at the reel which is at the top so a slight tug on the hose tips the thing over which leads to problem number three: everything is on one side of the unit. When it tips front all of the force of the fall is concentrated on the water hose connection. The first time it happened I was lucky to be using a cheap hose which just pulled out of the connector threads. Come on AR, add some feet to the front of this thing, it wouldn't add $1 to your cost. Lesser problems include the snap-in wand holder falling out when the wand is removed. (There are three user installed pieces, two of which are screwed in. The wand holder really needs a screw too. Also the soap is dispensed much (MUCH) faster than the 10:1 ratio stated in the instructions. Even at the lowest setting you'll suck a pint of soap out of the dispenser in about two minutes. Also, you better make sure the water input is completely air free or the pump will start screaming at you. So why am I keeping mine? Because the machine itself is great. The quick connects work and don't leak. The nozzles swap out quickly (helps to rinse off all that excess soap). And once the air is out of the supply line the thing pumps out the water. I was able to clean three years worth of algae, moss and lichen off a greenhouse without scrubbing. Even with a hand wash it takes about 15 min to wash a car. Now if I can just figure out how to keep it from tipping over. UPDATE: 11/28/2015 - So another problem has cropped up re: the hose. It no longer locks into the spray gun securely. It won't blow off so it is catching on the locking wires but when I turn it on water shoots out everywhere. I'm pulling a star because I don't like getting soaked. Bottom line: now I have to buy a better hose and a new spray gun. I should have just spent the money on a better unit when I bought this and saved all the hassle.

I like it but no soap is dispensing
It requires very little assembly and worked great the first time. The power is all I need and it cleaned spots on my driveway that I thought would never come up. The tips are easy to change and it it runs flawlessly. However, I may be doing something wrong but I can not get it to suck the soap out of the container. The instruction simply say to turn the knob on the front to the amount you want to distribute. The suction hose is at the bottom of the container with no apparent obstruction yet the tube remains empty and nothing comes out no matter what the control knob is set to. This is an important feature to me so once I get this figured out I will give it 5 stars. Based on the instructions alone, the conclusion would be that it is defective, but I will not give up so easily since it arrived earlier today (which by the way arrived well packed and on time). Hopefully I will figure it out soon.

POWERFUL, MUST-HAVE MACHINE
QUICK, POWERFUL, EASY TO USE. I previously owned a lower level Blue Clean model that was 1600psi and was smaller and shorter in size with much smaller wheels, inferior handle, no hose real, and had plastic, not metal, wand and tips. For the minimal increase in price, this model is a whole new world - Much more powerful, much faster to clean with, better cleaning in less time, feels so much more substantial and is so much easier to maneuver and handle. Water use is negligible and I can use this all day, every day, for an entire long weekend without a noticeable spike in my water bill, or electric for that matter. This one is a more professional feeling model than the one I owned previously and the other, though it worked reasonably well, was more like a toy by comparison. The upgrade is well worth the small to moderate increased in price and the increase in power saves you in cleaning time. As for assembly, it's pretty much zero. Just a few things to snap on. ***My only peeve with the manufacturer is their failure to include the 5/8" Allen wrench necessary to attach the water inlet to the front of the model. I'd venture to say that most people, even people with a tool collection (like me), don't have that size Allen wrench lying around, and for this price point, it should have been included in the box. The only other minus as other reviewers have mentioned is how flimsy the handle on the hose real is. Quality and durability of this component seems far inferior to the rest of the machine and it's doubtful, even with care, that it will survive more than the first few uses. On a plus note, the company has a U.S. phone number where someone in Minnesota actually answers the phone. They are helpful, friendly, and truly English-speaking. ...This is a great, superior model of pressure washer. I believe it's Blue Clean's highest home model. I would advise spending a little more to get this one. Ladies, don't be afraid of its larger size. I am a 5'2" 50-plus female with little upper body strength and this model is easy for me to maneuver and use. Yes, it's heavier than the lower models but the big, chunky wheels and tall, strong handle make it easy to move from place to place. ..RE SELLER: I purchased this as a first time buyer from Albany Tool Company here on Amazon. Item arrived very quickly in a fresh, brand new box and in fresh, brand new condition just as expected. I appreciated receiving a fresh item and not someone else's merchandise return. Since when I purchased this item the screen noted that I got their last one in stock, I worried about getting a leftover item that no one else wanted or something that was previously returned as defective, but that was not the case and what I received was in fact a pristine, never-opened, brand new item.. Their price was also lower than other merchant's for the same model. I am quite pleased with Albany Tool Company and would absolutely purchase from them again. Highly recommend.

The green one works best for this application
This product was out of stock when I ordered it in March. The two month wait was worth it. The unit works flawlessly. It has four adjustable head attachments with the orange one providing high impact that will take the paint off your car if you are not careful. The green one works best for this application. As others have noted the hose does tangle somewhat and I wonder if the product could be improved with a more flexible one. There also should be extra fittings to hold it better in place when you tug on the hose when you are moving about as it tips over easily. Overall though, 99.9% happy.

Excellent pressure washer!
Surprised as hell what a great value this is! Much better than the last Karchers I used. Great pressure, love the fact it quits running when the trigger is released. The only issue is the hose is awfully stiff and difficult to keep from twisting, perhaps will get better with more use. Otherwise, excellent value and I would highly recommend it. I bought this model from Amazon in large measure because of other reviewers rating of their Customer Service experience with AR. I am fed up with buying junk from Big Box Stores that carry crap products they can't provide service for.
