Barfly Measuring Cup, 2.5 oz, Stainless Steel

I typically prefer Japanese jiggers but this Barfly jigger has a lot going for it. It has metric and imperial measurements and goes up to 2.5 oz which is rare. High quality and easy to read. Stylish. Any cocktail enthusiast or mixologist would appreciate this product. Would buy again

Summary: This is an alternate use for this measuring cup. The other day I was adding fuel injection cleaner to my motorcycle, and didn't have an accurate method to measure, well this stainless cup, with all the different sizes is perfect. Now I don't need to guess how much I'm adding. Observation: I watched a review video which verified the measurement, by using a digital scale. First you "weigh" the cup, then zero (TARE) it, then add the liquid (used water). One thing to note, which is note stated in the product literature, is the number is BELOW the corresponding line on the cup. Pros: Good fit & finish; clearly marked measurements. Cons: Cost (a little high). Conclusion: At $10, rating this 5-stars.

They actually do... I have owned plenty of jiggers in my day. I worked for years behind the bar and then in R&D and this is hands down the best of the best. There are many good jiggers and a ton of crappy jiggers out there but this is next level. 2.5 oz and the .5 is a game changer. even if you're only pouring 1.5 or 2.0 ounces. Easy to read, easy to pour into even with handles and mixing bowls (welcome to R&D). As far as I am concerned there is NO BETTER jigger for sale anywhere. Props to the Educated Barfly for hipping me to this.

I am a big fan of japanese style jiggers but I love that this has ml even tbs! especially if im making a british recipe i dont have to convert anything. very nice and clear measurement lines and everything.

I really like this style over the Japenese style jigger. If I need to measure fresh juices, I can place my juicer over the top and all the juice goes into the container instead of half on the counter. I also like that all the measurements are on one side. You don't have smaller measurements on one side and then need to flip it over for the larger sizes. This cuts down on the mess if you need to measure 0.5 oz and 2 oz with just one tool. I only have two small "complaints". The markings aren't super clear. It's not immediately obvious that the measurement is listed below the line, and on the inside, you can't see the written measurements well, so you need to remember how many lines to count for the volume you need. I also wish it had a 1/4 oz marking since this is a pretty common measurement. That way I could do all the measurements in one container. But overall, it works great.

I love that the lines are on the inside and outside of this cup. Also sturdy and easy to clean.

Love the incremental measurement lines

I got tired of having to flip over a Japanese jigger for smaller measurements (thus dripping liquor on the counter from a prior measured pour). But I kept finding many different jiggers to not be accurate at their line designations. Enter the Barfly Measuring Cup. Not only is this jigger accurately measured (I weighed the volume), it also helpfully gives you the oz, ml, and Tbsp designation (extremely helpful when utilizing different cocktail recipes that use differing measurements. Also, because this jigger has a 2.5oz volume, your typical 2oz measured pour isn't precariously sitting at the top edge, leaving you holding your breath trying not to spill any as you pour. The only knock I would give this is the measurements aren't stamped on the inside, where they would be way more helpfully placed when pouring. But it doesn't take long to memorize the line designations, so this gripe isn't worth knocking it a star.

The solution to my measuring issues. My standard 25ml, 35ml and 50ml jiggers were not cutting it for me when I needed a bit more accuracy when mixing drinks with non standard measures. Has become my go-to jigger for most of the stuff I make now and seems reasonably well made (as all barfly kit is) a must have item for home cocktail making. Has measures in Ozs, MLS and TBS.
