How loud is the vibration noise? Would it disturb others seated next to you?

No it is something you feel but clients can barely hear it. I use it I Reiki treatments where I'm concerned about disturbing their solitude. I love it. Easy to use and battery efficient.

Does the vibration shut off by itself or do you have to manually reset it each alarm cycle?

it vibrates for about 5 seconds and stops. The timer resets and then it will vibrate again when the time gets to 0. You have to switch it back to set to stop the countdown and vibration when not in use. Hope this helps.

Can you set it to vibrate a specified number of times at RANDOM intervals?

The MotivAider will repeatedly vibrate at the time interval you set until you turn it off. Likewise, you can have it do random vibrations no longer than the time you set. It will continue to randomly go off within that time interval until you stop it.

What battery does it use. If not standard AA or AAA, how long does it last?

It uses a AA battery. Lasts pretty long. Has done wonders for my son's attention in class. The other kids can't see it cuz it's in his pocket and they can't hear it either. Great product
