Introduction to Fairlight Audio Post with DaVinci Resolve 15 (The Blackmagic Design Learning Series)

Mary does a great job walking you through the steps to learn Fairlight (despite the bugs and massive amount of upgrading the program is going through). There is nothing that the writer can do about the rapid upgrades, so sometimes you will find some items in the book don't match the version of Resolve you're working on (Oscillator vs System Test Tones, for instance). You just have to make it work, and it doesn't happen very often, anyway. Mary Plummer has put together an excellent training on Resolve's almost fully featured Audio Editing tool. I got it on my Kindle (on my computer), for a terrific price and I'm very thankful. Nice job all around!

I am new to Davinci Resolve, this book was a lot of help.

Excellent training book with detailed step-by-step guides to professional workflows and problem solving techniques for audio post production work in DaVinci Resolve. The explanations necessarily go into a certain amount of technical depth but never feel as though they are too complex to grasp. The exercises provide a certain scope for practise, whilst the author's cheeky asides to the reader mean it never takes itself too seriously!

For a 'newbie' to audio editing this is a great help (though a little bit technical!) I got this to try as a Kindle ebook at a great price. I don't know why many companies charge so much for the paperback versions of technical handbooks - as a beginner with this kind of software, the high price is offputting. It's even more annoying when you consider that most of these are out of date within a year due to new versions coming regularly.

Like all the books from Blackmagic Design for DaVinci Resolve, this is a great introduction to use the software. I own all the book and am very satisfied with all of them. They go much deeper in detail than the video's in the Blackmagic Training Program. Absolutely recommend if you don't mind reading and want to get to know the software in detail. However, this book had some typos and didn't include the online exam link (fortunately, you can find it online).

This book finally shows all the features of the Fairlight page and how to use them. The style of the book is easy to follow and it comes with lots of examples.
