Timberland PROMen's Helix 6" Waterproof Composite Lace-Up Boot

Most comfortable for about six months.
Wore them for about a year. I do maintenance in a warehouse, lots of concrete, blacktop, and metal. Also work in a freezer occasionally and I'm sometimes in rooms with two inches of water. I do not clean or treat my boots. With all that I loved these boots, coming from a pair of redwings. They keep my feet dry and relatively warm. The soles don't freeze as fast as my redwings. No problems with slipping in various fluids. They had no break in, were comfortable from day one, and I could be on my feet for twelve hours and come home without sore feet. They have held up really well other then the orange hexagons on the bottom falling off, but they are just a piece of thin rubber. Now for the bad, the insoles lasted about six months. They started making my feet ache. Replaced them with dr scholls and I'm back to being happy. I'm disappointed they didn't last a year but these are still great boots, just ordered another pair after trying keens and danner.

They are great until they get wet.
My husband loved these boots, has been wearing work boots for about 25 years now. He said these were the most comfortable boots he ever owned, and it helped with a lot of his foot pain. Unfortunately last night there was an accident and he spent about 3 hours in 2 inches of water, and unfortunately these boots did not make it through. A lot of cheaper, unfortunately less comfortable boots, have made it through a night walking in 2 to 4 inches of water, the next day stuff them with newspaper and about 24 hrs they are good to go. These boots the complete inside fell apart, the insole area disintegrated into mush. And the smell was horrific. I know shoes will smell, especially if gotten wet, but this was different and just bad. My husband was cleaning clean water, so there was no chemicals that may have gotten in the boots. It's just unfortunate that these would disappoint so much.If anyone has a recommendation for a comfortable and better built boot, please let me know. Thank you.

Best work boots that I have ever owned
I got almost 4 years out of these boots. In fact , I am still wearing them. They are holding up great. My feet never get wet. I work for FedEx. I only get about a year out of other brands. The only reason I am purchasing another pair now is that the boots are showing their age. I am reluctant to give them up because they are so comfortable. Before I purchased these composite toe boots , I had two foot accidents. I haven’t had anymore foot accidents. I hope my new pair are as good as these.

WARRANTY WARNING:
Do Not buy Timberland boots from Amazon or your warranty is voided. Not disclosed at purchase. You will only have 30 days to return. I had a 60 day defect with stitching coming undone on both boots above the eyelets. Tried to return through Amazon and was denied. Tried to return directly with Timberland and was denied. Timberlands lifetime warranty is only good if purchased directly from Timberland or authorized retailer. Turns out Amazon is pretty much EBAY in that anyone can sell anything. When I tried to file an A-Z claim with Amazon was given sellers info. Seller was Beauty & Nutrition. Contacted Beauty for return no response. Out $174!

Was skeptical, but I'm very happy
(Husband writing here) - I've worn Red Wings and to a lesser extent Danner for 30 years. Couple guys at work got some Timberlands so i gave them a try. Tried to buy local, but they didn't have my size, so went to The Big A. They are very very comfortable. No need to break them in - light and comfy straight out of the box. I was super skeptical, because i only knew Timberland for street shoes. We build docks at lakeside homes, and there's a lot of kicking and water - one month in and they still look new. I'd give 5 stars but it's too early to tell. After they arrived, I returned to my local Whistle Work store and bought another pair, more dress-like, still with a steel toe. Can't believe I'm not wearing Red Wings...

Could be better
After my wolverine boots finally got worn out after a year and a half I decided to go with a different brand. We all know timberland has a high name when it comes to boots, so I decided to give them a try. Especially since these boots $60 cheaper. I have to admit I'm disappointed with the fitment and comfort of the shoe. I thought it would just take a week or a few days to break them in but it's still feels like I'm breaking them in at the moment. They have gotten more comfortable with use but with my feet I noticed a rub and awkward spots along my ankles and the inside soul of my foot. You get what you pay for I was just expecting a little higher quality fitment. It doesn't get moisture out of the boots once it gets in there and aren't very breathable at all. They are waterproof and I've been able to soak the shoes in different chemicals and water. So far have held up too that. I wouldn't recommend these Boots unless you're buying them for weekend uses. I work 70 plus hours a week and I can tell these shoes are going to be replaced faster than the wolverines.

One year later...
I have owned these boots for a year now, I work in these as a professional and also wear them when working around the house. The only reason I am buying a new pair is that my company buys me a pair once a year. I do a lot of walking in my job, in not so great places. They still have plenty of tread, and the boots are still waterproof. Actually not a thing wrong with them... buying exactly the same thing and will see how long the first pair will make it!

Solid Boot. Terrible Laces.
I bought this boot as a more robust replacement for my work footwear. It's solid and fairly heavy with excellent toe protection. I also don't have any issues with comfort. It's heavier than I'm used to but it hasn't caused me issues. But the laces are awful! I had them for two weeks before both laces were frayed to the point of uselessness. They had frayed in one of the eyelets. Apparently some slight friction from movement was enough to ruin them. I ended up pulling the laces off of my old boots and putting them on the new ones.So if you do buy these, have a backup pair of laces just in case.

NOT THE BEST
I've been in construction for a decade now and have had many many work boots, honestly I am very disappointed in this brand and shoe. First off I went for the 11.5 WIDE so that my feet would be comfortable in them , turs out they weren't made wide at all. Secondly , within 2 days of wearing them , the metal clip to strap on the laces to the ankle broke off..... very disappointed in these boots considering the $$ i paid for them

Comfort or durability your choice. ^_^
Had been wearing TL boot for a long time now. The comfort in this boot, no question ask. 12hrs? 14hrs? Not a problem. Heavy rain? As long u wear ur rain coat or pants. Ur feet will stay dry. Especially i ride my bike on rainy days. It stay dry.The only problem is the rubber at the sole. They are thin... hence wont last. Compare to those regular boots. I will keep this short.

Good quality shoes
I bought these shoes in Singapore as I needed them to work in a gold mine overseas. They are very sturdy, I like the fact that the composite toe is lighter than steel (and you can walk through a metal detector at the airport without having to take off your shoes. As per the recommendations, I went for a bigger size (I took 12 instead of 11 normally) and I chose the wide option - that really helped as my feet are wide and for once the shoes were not too tight.I have been walking in the mine for two full days now with no pain at all - which is better than virtually all shoes I have ever bought
