We try to keep the heating to a minimum - keeps the bills down, reduces our energy footprint, and just seems a good idea to not be generally wasteful, but showers and baths can get a bit chilly during the winter months. We hate to heat up the entire house just to make the short time during bathing a bit more comfortable - one of the drawbacks of whole house central heating. We had a small electric heater that has served this purpose for many years, but this fall, it just wouldn't heat any longer, so, we did a search for a replacement. This is perfect! Very simple operation - on, off, high, low, all one really needs. It has a suitably small footprint, so that it doesn't take up a lot of floor space or get in the way of normal traffic in a small room. I was very impressed that this company has had the wisdom to sidestep the current trend to "bedazzle" everything with expensive electronics which increase the price, provide all sorts of "features" that never get used by anybody, use energy to operate - increasing the operating costs - and ultimately fail very quickly, rendering the heater useless long before it's expected life is over. This device does not have clocks, timers, led displays, multiple blinking colored lights, chimes, wifi connections or any of those other useless features - THANK GOODNESS! That is why we chose this efficient, simple to operate, heater. It DOES have a "tip over shutoff switch" which turns the heater off if it gets tipped over. While we will probably never need it, that seems an appropriate safety feature and very necessary if you have small children or pets that might accidentally tip it over - it is quite small. It works as described, heats the bath nicely, doesn't use a great deal of energy, it is PERFECT!

I'm highly satisfied with the Black+Decker Personal Ceramic Heater. While lightweight, this heater proves remarkably stable, resisting tips unless given a substantial shove. A safety sensor on the base automatically shuts off the heater if it tips; to reactivate it, simply unplug and re-plug the unit. The thermostat also automatically powers down the unit once it reaches your set temperature. A convenient handle cutout in the back allows for easy portability.On the top panel, the left button controls the adjustable thermostat, while the right selects fan and heat settings. A prominent orange-red indicator light on the front confirms when the unit is powered on. Noise output is minimal; I never needed to adjust TV volume, speak louder than normal, nor awakened during sleep from the noise output. In just one day, I barely noticed when the heater cycled on or off.This B+D Ceramic Heater includes a one-year warranty. To activate it, simply scan the code on the instruction booklet. After a brief name and address registration, your heater is immediately covered. While an extended warranty is available for beyond the one year mark, the heater's affordable price point makes purchasing a new unit a more economical option than extending coverage after a year.Its compact profile allows it to fit neatly on a desk or beside a bed, adapting to various spaces. The lowest setting often provides ample warmth, though individual preferences will dictate optimal usage. Overall, this heater performs exceptionally well, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.**Please note: this heater is basic. It doesn’t have a remote control nor does it oscillate. The size is approximately the size of a hard covered book. Not large by any means. I feel even though this is very basic, I feel you will be getting far more than your monies worth. Also not that this particular model is entirely black. There are other models with silver and other makeups of color coordination’s.***IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE: Always plug this or any heater directly into a wall outlet. Ceramic heaters, regardless of brand, are known fire hazards when connected to extension cords or power strips, even those with surge protection.

I’ve been using the **BLACK+DECKER Portable Space Heater (1500W)** in my home office, and it has exceeded expectations. It heats the room quickly and maintains a comfortable temperature even on the coldest days. The unit is compact and lightweight, and the built-in carry handle makes it easy to move when needed.Despite its small footprint, the heat output is strong and consistent. It’s quiet enough to run during work calls and doesn’t create distracting background noise.I purchased it on sale for $21, and the performance rivals heaters that cost twice as much. For a home office or small room, it delivers excellent value, reliable warmth, and straightforward operation.

This is a nice and reliable space heater for the price, it is a quick warm up and has been going for several overnight hours since purchased with no problems at all. For an inexpensive alternative this is the one. I have been using it on my porch for the outdoor cats that come and go and I'm sure they appreciate it on the colder days/ nights. I can hear when I check on it that it is running, so it's not real quiet, but not loud either, more like white noise. I just turn it off and on at the surge protector. It is in a sheltered area I created for the cat's so I don't have to get in there to turn it off.The only con is that it's not fancy, with a timer, temperature control or remote, but for the area and reason I am using it, it's not necessary. I keep it on the higher setting.

TL;DR: All portable electric heaters draw 1500W and gradually circulate air through a room until the ambient temperature matches the internal thermostat. This one does it while in black. Compared to the VEVOR 1000W/1500W model (at the same size), the B&D model giving similar performance while retailing at 3x to 4x manufacturer's suggested retail price (only buy when this is on sale).The design is used in quite a few models on Amazon; it's lightweight, easy to use, and is in a goes-with-everything black. The model heats up quickly and cools off even faster, making it convenient to carry. The fan is quiet enough while the anti-tip peg underneath is quite wide, like a 5th leg (meaning the device has to actually be tipped over before it shuts off).The biggest draw for me on this model is it's low power mode is actually low-power (which is less stress for my extension cable -- I know the instructions say not to use those as they WILL heat up with excessive power drain, but the 750W mode is much easier on those). It's still hot enough to keep warm, though not a great source of instant heat (which you will need to turn to full power to achieve).At full power, it will be very hot up to about 8 inches away. At low power, that distance gets cut in half. Like the Vevor, this is best used under a desk (where the air is partially trapped between your legs and the "fireplace" surrounding the heater) or at face level where you can just feel the heat right away. And any knob-style thermostat is very inaccurate; the lowest the knob goes is like 75° and unless the room is barely bigger than the heater, the ambient temperature will almost never hit that.If you're getting a portable unit, emphasis on portable, AND you don't have many outlets available, this is actually a good low powered unit to have while reducing the chances you're going to blow out a surge protector.

This little heater throws out a ton of heat at the hottest setting. You can warm up right away and feel only hot heat over a foot away.. If I put it in a big room, after less than 2 hours it increases the temp in the room by 14° +. It does have a low setting as well but I only use the hottest setting. I bought this in January 2024 and loved it so much I bought another! I haven’t used the second one I bought, but the first I have now been using for 2 years for many hours a day during fall/winter and still works just the same! That is quality! It doesn’t feel hot to the touch either when it is running. It’s not very loud either. It’s like white noise to me.What is great about this heater is it doesn’t overheat and shut off all the time like 2 other small space heaters I have from other companies. And can sit right in front of this heater and it won’t shut off like the others!!! When you want heat you don’t want your space heater to shut off and this doesn’t. This also throws out a lot more heat. After two years it hasn’t blown a fuse either and it is easy to use-just turn the switch.

PROS:* Heats up in seconds* Puts off a decent amount of heat for its size* Isn't very loud, not overbearing at all.* Has a button on the bottom so that if it tips over, the button will not be depressed, and it shuts off.CONS:* Even with an 8-foot cord, it could be longer since you never want to use an extension cord with a heater* This will not heat an entire room. In fact, it works hard just to heat a very small space. This is definitely meant to just heat the person it is pointed at. I did feel a small difference in a 10x10 room, but only after a couple/few hours of it on continuously.* Even when pointed at you, the 'width' of heat is limited. In other words, the coverage would not be enough to warm two people at the same time in my opinion. It truly is just a personal, one-person heater and even then, don't expect head to toe coverage.

I use it under my desk to keep me warm in my freezing office. Definitely will not heat an entire room. Not super powerful, but inexpensive and works for my purpose
