Very sturdy - makes a great stick for protection against coyotes
I live in an area with lots of coyotes that are bold enough to grab a small dog being walked on a leash! The coyotes haven't killed any people yet but they have gone after some small children. I wanted to have some defense against coyotes when I'm in my back yard so I made a stick with this on the end. It's very sturdy. I'll probably never need it but a good boy scout is always prepared.

This South Bend Frog Spear is the best add-on item I have bought to date. If you check out the price of what a frog gigging outfit costs you will find that, if you buy this and add your own handle you will save $20 or more dollars. I would recommend this item to anyone looking for such a product.

You get what you pay for. It's not the sturdiest metal however the points are razor sharp. Broke a tine off on one of my first frogs but I've been going strong a tine short ever since. Overall very happy with the price I paid. It came with a nut and bolt to attach to a handle which I just ordered a broom handle. Instalation was pretty straight forward. Would definitely order again.
