Fun activity book for children or adults. Finding items, word puzzles, and trying to work a maze ... good for thinking and great for a cold or rainy day activity. My great niece and nephew enjoy these books by Highlights. I enjoy them too.

Full of a variety of fun and multi-level challenges

My son absolutely loved this activity book, and we ended up spending a lot of time with it together. The variety of puzzles is impressive — mazes, word searches, logic puzzles, sudoku, and more — so it never feels repetitive. The puzzles are challenging enough to keep kids interested without being frustrating, which is a great balance. It’s perfect for quiet time, travel, or screen-free activities at home. The pages are well-designed, and the book feels sturdy. This has been a great way for my son to stay engaged while also working on problem-solving and focus. We’ve already gone through many pages, and he keeps coming back to it. Definitely a great choice for kids who enjoy puzzles.

Bought for my 10-year-old as an activity during a vacation; he loved this book. The various seek and finds and other puzzles were challenging enough to keep his attention while not being so difficult to spurn. Very engaging overall.

CAUTION re 8/2024 Mfg date: If you have the version of "Highlights Ultimate Puzzle Challenge!" that shows "Mfg. date 8/2024" on the back cover (I'm not talking about the publication version, but rather the Mfg. date), you should glance at pages 134 and 135 before you use it or gift it and make sure the picture of Fisherman's Wharf is in COLOR. Mine was not, but I'm not sure if all copies of the 8/2024 version are defective. The Fisherman's Wharf puzzle is supposed to be in color and you can't find all the objects without it being in color because some of the objects the reader is directed to locate are in color (e.g., blue totebags). (It is also hard to find the other items on the page without the color because the color helps to provide definition). Anyway, I ordered this book from Amazon three times-- the first one I received shows Mfg. date 7/2022 in Jeff. City, MO on the back and is PERFECT and deserves 5 stars! I'm an adult and have been enjoying this book SO much that I bought one as a gift for my adult sister (I'm not sure what Mfg. date her copy had). More recently I ordered yet another copy for myself since the book was on sale. I figured that I can wait a period of time and work on some other puzzle books in the meantime, and then I can return to my new copy of the Highlights books much later and enjoy it all over again after my memory of the puzzle answers fades. BUT, when I thumbed through the 3rd book after it arrived today, I noticed the color defect on pages 134 and 135. I flipped through the rest of the pages and I don't think any other pages had the same problem. So, I'm giving this purchase 4 stars instead of 5 due to the defect. I might try seeking an exchange/replacement from Amazon to get a different copy, but if they only have the 8/2024 versions left, and if those are all defective, then there's no point. I'm checking w/ publisher to see if they know. It is still a terrific book even with the defective color printing issue in the 8/2024 version I received.

The kids love these! It keeps them off phones and tablets! I leave these in my car for long car rides! They love them and so do I!!! Mother approved!

I got several puzzle books for my grandkids for Christmas and my granddaughters were completely mesmerized by this book. I think it's great when kids step away from videos and games to actually stretch their brain. This book provided a variety of puzzles that really appealed to kids. Can't go wrong with this one! By the way, the granddaughters are 4 and just over 6 years old. (Age group reference) I think the puzzles were more aligned with the older one, but the younger one enjoyed watching and trying.

I was impressed by the size and price. Perfect for ages 9-12.

Book arrived torn and book binding was faulty

I would say this book is penned with perfection comprising of anything, and everything! To be loved by this age group, 9-13 and I believe even younger and older teens would be interested to solve such a composition. It includes a huge variety, and when i say huge, i mean huge. It has a long index. I've included few pictures of some puzzles for sample. Difficulty is mostly moderate. Page quality is also good. Finally, I always believe that books should be the most seeked gift rather than gifting toys/repetitive things like mugs/teddy or whatever, even for adults books are the best gift. And this is one book I liked 👍🏼
