Zoom H3-VR Handy Recorder

This is the neatest, most practical, highest quality little recorder I have ever owned! Put it on a high stand, turn it on, connect to it with your iPhone, record for hours in Ambisonics A. Then take it home, download to your computer, turn it into any of several formats to enable you to listen in surround, stereo, binaural, or Dolby 5.1 surround. It doesn't get any better than this!

I was nervous about spending the money for this purchase but I am now very happy I did. I get exceptionally high quality recordings from this audio recorder; much less white noise.

I've used this for recording panel discussions and it's great to be able to pan to the person speaking (in post through software). Also nice for recording ambiences. Not too sure about really loud source sounds. Works great. A bit fragile! Buy a case for it.

H3 control app isn't on android... it's always something... always ONE thing about every product on earth shafting someone... i didn't even think to check.. every other control app they have is on android... except the H3 app. wtf. fml. you think you know someone... wait, what was i talking about?Yeah you can't press record remotely without an iPhone! WHAT?! That's totally wack. No wired remote adapter for the BT slot. No control over USB on PC. Nothing. Can you emulate an ipod on pc? I don't want to set up any account with Apple! I don't know if I you want a BT antenna on an ambisonic microphone... these things HEAR rf!No remote means you edit file.. every single time you must cut the start and finish off yourself. You'll never get a clean start or finish on the SD card without an apple device...W A C K

This is the 3rd Zoom recorder I have purchased, and they have all been exceptional devices. I was excited for having the ability to control this one with an app on my phone. I didn’t realize that it was an additional $40 purchase to make this happen. I bought the Bluetooth connector but had I known, I would have ordered it when I ordered the recorder.I do look forward to using this to record live acoustic bluegrass music in old churches throughout the Midwest.

I use this to record my past life regressions. It is so great and picks up everything. Super clear recordings. Make sure you get a micro SD card to record on.

Great addition to my recording arsenal. Picks up 360 degree conversations and other audio.

this little device will pick up audio from 50 feet away easily. I use it for paranormal investigations and it did not disappoint. just keep an eye on the audio settings and make sure to download the zoom program for it. clear crisp and virtually no distortion. i had to amplify the sound over 300% and there were no ill effects that took away from the quality, as crisp as standing next to it. spend the few extra dollars.......
