These are smaller than the usual panniers for long treks, which makes them perfect for daily commuters. You cannot fit a briefcase in this, but it will easily hold a lunchbox, 3 or 4 books, your repair kit, and a jacket. This is one of my usual loads riding to the university. The leather is real and very heavy. It will take a year or so to get truly broken in. The buckles are a bit primitive. They could have easily used a velcro system or clips, but I think they wanted to stick with a retro style. It works, buckles just seem awkward in this day and age. There is some good 3m reflective stripes on the sides for visibility at night. My only complaint is that there really is no place to lock this thing to the rack. I used some zip ties, but I also live in a city with extremely low crime. If you want to permanently secure this to your rack, I would recommend investing in some cable locks. The measurements in the ad are accurate, and it comes with two inserts that can be used to make the bags hold their full shape. I recommend using these as they don't stick out too much and it is just easier to plop things in and pull things out. You will need a style of rack that can support panniers (they need to have some sort of guard rail that keeps the bag from leaning into the tire). For the price I was amazed at how high quality these were. Warning, they will make the back end of your commuter bike heavier. When you go to lift this onto the bus rack you will notice a difference. Do yourself a favor and go ahead and order some faux leather grip tape and your bike will look uber sweet,

Love the bags, non leather, beautiful, with deep pockets. the only problem is the buckle STRAPS detached shortly after use, apparently they are just PINNED into place, so pulling on the straps will cause them to fall off

For the price, it's worth it. Not the best build quality as I found a couple imperfections (ex. belt buckle hole was too low on one strap so it resulted in the right flap being higher than the left), but overall a good buy. The Velcro straps the pannier has doesn't really attach very well to my particular bike. I'll have to figure out a way to affix it better so it doesn't fall off so easily. Also, the buckles can be a pain to do and undo.

This is pretty much what I expected. It came a bit scuffed up but considering how inexpensive it is, that's understandable. The material is pretty nice and it fits a 1.5" binder with room to spare! I could fit 2 in there if I wanted. Perfect for going to class and work. Plus, it's super cute!
