My resistance level isn’t working
Unfortunately, after receiving this product and putting it together we have came to find out that the resistance level doesn’t work. It is stuck on a level and does not go up or down. None of the programs work either. On a bright note, I reached out to helix and they are sending new parts and someone out to my house to fix it. I’m just very nervous that the fix will not work and I’ve spent all this money on a piece of equipment that I was so excited to receive. I was reluctant on spending this much money but have used the Helix at gyms and loved it! Now I’m so disappointed!

This machine is absolutely awesome - it is commercial quality - better than what ...
I have a home gym with everything from a mounted bike, bow flex, weights, bands & roman chair. This machine is absolutely awesome - it is commercial quality - better than what you find in a gym - and boy what a workout!!!! It is such a nice change from the constant forward and back motion that finally starts to wear on the knees - this is now my favorite workout...Now I will add an eliptical, and maybe be done with the gym!!

GREAT WORKOUT; POOR DISPLAY
This workout is so killer, it's almost an impediment for beginners: you can't get your heart pumping for long if your thigh muscles aren't strong enough to sustain you for 20 minutes. Of course, the idea is to build strength and stamina over time. I'm a pretty strong speed incline walker (former runner) and can only do about 10 minutes on level 2-3 on the Helix---that's how tough it is. (I just add those 10 minutes to a 30 minute speed-walk workout). Take away: don't get discouraged if it takes longer to build up endurance on this than it normally does for you. Keep stepping!PROS: The Helix is FUN. I hate working out at gyms; I like to meditate in my own way during a workout. I put on a nice music set, turn the lights low (or off), close my eyes, and off I go. I feel like I'm flying---while at the same time my thighs are on fire. It's a weird, delightful sensation. It's super fun to change direction---there is a moment of weightlessness in there that puts me in a good mood every time. I end up drenched in sweat and out of breath---which is exactly what I signed on for.CONS: I must say, the display on the Helix is just awful. For the money, I was surprised by this. (I'd expect it on a cheaper model, but this is no chump change we're talking about here.) The contrast is ridiculous; I can only describe it as white-on-white. I have almost perfect vision and can only make out the display on occasion. The heart rate monitor is indecipherable. The programmer won't let you reset until you've been 'off' the Helix for about 60 seconds (which is frustrating if you want to switch workouts in the middle of the workout---say, go from 'manual' to 'fat burning'). I generally don't put much faith in the display on any machine----I'm only in it for the workout----but this 'poor contrast' issue might be a very frustrating factor for some.Hope this review is useful! Thank you, and happy sweating! :)

Provides a great workout!
I absolutely love the workout I get on the helix. Definitely better than an elliptical or a treadmill. It’s extremely easy on the knees and my whole family can use it. The reason for four stars is the awful display. For gym equipment at this price point I expected a much better display. The programs only allows 20 minutes intervals. I like to do at least 40 with a general goal of 60 minutes. There is no way to reset the display so I have to hop off and unplug and reset an get back on. Not a big deal but just a pain when your in the middle of a workout. Overall I highly love this addition to my workout routine!

Hardcore piece of workout equipment.
I have had this unit for two years now and have been very impressed with the results it gives as well as its reliability.I used to own a club model Versaclimber for the simple reason that it was the most intense aerobic workout I had found short of skate skiing. When we moved, I no longer had the ceiling height to accomodate the climber and needed to find a suitable alternative. This fit the bill perfectly. My wife and I both use this during the winter months when it is too cold, dark or icy for us to go and exercise outside during the work week.It is a very intense workout and far superior for strength and cardio conditioning than a treadmill or elliptical. Honestly, I could see many people being unwilling to workout on this machine because it is nearly impossible to cheat on it like I see people doing on the ellipticals at the gym by bouncing up and down.I use a Polar HRM and can say that this machine helps both in building my aerobic base as will as improving my anaerobic threshold. It also gives fast and impressive results in muscle toning to my butt, core and legs.Durability over the past two winter seasons has been great. No issues at all.

Almost a 5, but for...
Great indoor cardio machine. I wish it could fit through standard doorways so we can move it room to room as desired. Would give it 5 stars if we could. Set up was straight forward, other than we had to move it unassembled to get it in house and workout room. That was awkward and heavy.
