Life saver
Definitely a life saver, extremely impressive and easy to install. We have an automatic feeder with WiFi / camera for if or when we leave on short trips. Unfortunately the day after we left on a longer two week trip, I saw on the camera a stray cat chasing my cat away and eating all her food - every day. I couldn’t do anything as I watched my cat starve (not really starve, cats are survivors but what an inconvenience for her). That’s when I purchased this great product and a pellet gun! Easy to install, easy for my cat to use (only my cat can access her room), great app that’s easy to use, with lots of extra features including notifications and tracking. My kitty now has her own safe space without having to wear a collar that could possibly get hung up or lost. Absolutely love this product and highly recommend it. It made my new pellet gun completely not needed. See? It saved my cats life from starving by giving her a safe space and her own food. And it also saved that overly aggressive stray bully cats life that was taking her food for herself. Life saver!!!! Anybody what an unused pellet gun?

The BEST cat door Ever!
I LOVE this cat door. I don’t know what these other reviews are doing but this is a quality and sturdy door. And I’m particular with what I buy. All the things you can do from your smartphone besides being able to track your cat’s comings and goings makes it worth the price you pay. We have a cat that lives in our shed and keeps the rodent population to zero. With this door I can make sure he’s safely locked in at night and it also doesn’t allow strange cats or other wild animals to even enter the shed, keeping my cat safe from unknown "friends." On bad weather days I can even keep him restricted to inside with no outside access. ALL FROM MY PHONE. Love it! And my husband will say it was easy to install and to get it up and operating. One of the best inventions ever made when a cat mom is stressed whether her cats are safely tucked in bed at night or bad weather!!

Plastic Junk. Horrible App. Very Hard to Install. DO NOT BUY!
*****UPDATE**** I'VE HAD THIS FOR OVER A MONTH NOW. THE APP IS JUNK. THEY UPDATED IT WHILE WE WERE AWAY AND IT LOCKED MY CATS OUTSIDE. SECOND. NOW THE CURFEW MODE DOES NOT WORK. DO NOT. I REPEAT DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS YOUI ARE WILLING TO LET YOUR PET DIE OUTSIDE IN THE HEAT OR COLD. All of this is plastic junk. I installed the door in wall next to the door. First off, you mount the door with screws from the outside. And screws are not long enough to reach the inside part. Not only that, they did not think about weather at all. I have to add caulking and other items to keep the weather out. So prepare to buy that as well. I needed two extensions each is only 2 inches. These are plastic crap that you need to duct tape together. They do not snap together nor does the lip go all the way around. You also need to seal them, unless you want water to come through and into your wall. And remember this is the tunnel from the outside that your cats will be using. Next, know that the outside trim piece is plastic and does not fit tightly around the plastic extensions. There is 1/8 inch space all the way around. Once again, get ready to caulk and seal or you will have water in your wall/door. Now, lets talk about the App. It sucks. Period. Once you have trained you cat to go through the door it reads the chip, which just a long number. You can change the number to the cat's name, BUT you must fill out ALL the profile data for the cat, including a sub bread. WTF? Next, to set the time zone, you know so you can use the curfew feature, it has EVERY SINGLE TIME ZONE LISTED AND NO WAY TO FIND YOUR CURRENT ONE. You scroll forever, past Madagascar, and still no Pacific time zone, listed. Again. WTF? You can turn off the dumb green cat ears. Trust me, when you see how bright they are, you will turn them off. If not, it's like having a stop light in your living room. Finally, the door is ok, but the cat must almost bump the door before it unlocks. I would not recommend this product. In fact, I wish I could return this and get something else.

Great potential...some issues need to be addressed
We got the flap connect professionally installed but we had a couple of issues with the product. First, the flap magnet was not strong enough so the door did not close properly which allowed our inside cat to sneak out through the door. When I called the customer support they sent me a replacement door with a stronger magnet which seems to do the trick but then we had one more issue where the batteries would completely drain in less than 2 weeks. I was told that the entire unit could be defective and that they would send me one more replacement unit but it took more than 3 months to get it as the support said the product was coming from somewhere in Europe. I was a bit skeptical if it would truly work again (by now we were way past the return window). We spent over $2000 to get a new back door installed just so we could install this product and not being able to use it for almost 3 months left us with a lot of frustration. It's been a month now since we got it re-installed again and thankfully this time it seems to be working as expected. I shall post an update if anything changes. Pros: Love the ability to monitor all our cat's door usage through the iPhone app and also control the unit remotely. I get cute "meow" alerts whenever one of our cats uses the door. I like the feasibility to either use the app or manually lock/unlock the door Cons: Setting up the app initially can be a little tricky, I wish the original product came with a stronger flap. Tip: Do not use regular Energizer or Duracell AA batteries. get the Ultimate Lithium one as they seem to hold the charge better. Update: 12/25/19 : The battery issue still seems to persist but not as bad as the first unit. Second unit gave us around 1 1/2 to 2 months of battery life compared to 2 weeks. The flap’s latch stopped working and our cats were no longer able to come in. As a temporary workaround, I put a tape so our cats could open the door from outside but this also means any small animal could come in. The SureFlap customer support sent us a replacement latch but that did not help. They ended up sending a new unit ( 3rd time) which I installed today. Will post an update in few weeks on how this 3rd unit is working. That said, I am very reluctant to recommend this product to anyone who intend to use it during vacation as I would freak out if my pets cannot come in. This is a great product and I am hoping that the manufacturer takes all the issues into consideration and improves the product.

Life-changing cat door!
The curfew feature on this cat door is life-changing! I like to keep my cats in at night. I used to rearrange my schedule to make sure I could be home to call my cats and lock them in on time. Now the cats can let themselves in and be secured inside. I can also see if they've made it in or not. The cat door isn't perfect at knowing when a cat has gone in or out, but it's good enough. I also have air tags on my cats so I can check their location. I had the base model of SureFlap for years and my boy cat could get out by turning the knob, unlocking the door with the chip in his head, and then pulling the door towards him. We had to use a physical barrier to lock him in at night. I was worried he would do this again with the new SureFlap. Sure enough, he did on the first night! The manual lock on this version is more robust, however, so I was able to lock him in manually. But that defies the point of getting a cat door with a curfew. I reached out to the company and they sent me a new frame with a modification on the lock where a cat can't push the lock down. It works like a charm! My boy cat can no longer escape. I saw several reviews where people complained about the batteries running out quickly. In the last several months before I purchased the new Connect model, that started happening with my old SureFlap. I'm not sure why. I would literally run through new batteries in just a few days sometimes. I got a replacement battery eliminator kit, which uses 3 dummy batteries and then one live one that connects to an outlet. You can see the wire in the attached picture. Now I don't use batteries at all. Highly recommend this cat flap. It's also been fun to see my cats exit and enter, and see how much time they're spending outside versus inside.

Doesn't keep cats inside
Overall this is a great product. I would have given it 5 stars if it was able to alert when pets who are restricted inside exit through the door. I have some very smart cats that sneak out with the dogs. The door does not register they leave, but it will let you know when they enter. Also, the cats have figured out out to open the door from the inside by pressing the button down whole pulling the door in. I worked around it by screwing a piece of wood above the button so the cats can't hold it down. It should have two buttons like it has on the outside to keep animals out. Like I said, I have very smart cats and they have figured out this door 🙀

Works purrrrfectly
Absolutely love this thing. Was worried it would be too small, but my fat *@$ cats seem to enjoy easily squeezing through it. No more begging at the door to go out - and I basically don’t need a litter box anymore because they prefer going outside. Also, the phone notifications saying “hi” and “bye” to each cat when they enter/exit are super cute.

Significant Design Flaw - Cat Easily Defeats Lock
Wanted to give this 4 stars, but then this happened: One of our cats started roaming outside during curfews, and kept getting logged by the app as entering, but never leaving... No such issue with our other cat, so I started to investigate: The locking mechanism has one locking tab on the inside that gets pulled down by the automatic mechanism when your pet approaches from the outside. Then the pet can push the door inwards and enter. Somehow our feline Einstein found out how to push that tab down with one paw while sitting inside and clawing the door towards herself with the other paw. Voila! Escaped! Now she always leaves that way, even with no curfew active, when she could just walk through. Our other cat never learned how to do this. On the outside, there are TWO locking tabs that both need to be pushed down at the same time, and they are spaced apart just enough to make it pretty much impossible for a cat to push them both down and at the same time pull open the door. Two cats would have to work together (I am sure they are working on that, too...) So, entry is much better secured than exit. Luckily, no racoons in the house yet. But, the design simply would need two tabs on the inside, too. A few other things I think should be improved: 1. The door eats batteries like there's no tomorrow. Well, at least that's how it feels. Four Amazon basic AAs last maybe 1-2 months. If your door is installed in a hard-to-get-to location, like mine, it's a bit of a pain. No AC-DC wall adapter option available. (I rigged one up now myself using some surplus 6V DC wall plug and running some wires. Works like a charm.) 2. The frame that you need to cement (or screw) into your wall or door and seal against the elements contains most of the mechanics/electronics of the whole door. So, if that needs replacement, you are looking at tearing out your installation with all its sealing/wall patching/paint color matching, etc. The entire door mechanism should be detachable/replaceable except one simple, cheap frame piece that you could leave installed in your wall. Probably not an issue if your cat door is installed in a simple wooden door. But I had to break through a brick and stucco wall. 3. I have not found out how to set different (individual) curfews for different cats. While several curfews can be stored, only one seems active at any given time, and it applies to all pets.

A life saver no more being a doorman at 4am for our cat
This has been installed a couple of weeks now and it has been well worth the money. I decided to fully install it myself and just about managed with hand tools on a UPVC door, so if you aren't at all handy then you would best be hiring someone to do that for you. Setting it up with the wifi hub was straight forward but just so you are aware the hub is connected via lan cable to your router at all times so make sure you have enough ports on your router. We have our hub by the front door and the cat flap is in the back door and there's a wall and a couple of meters between them and we haven't had any connection problems. Setting up the cat's microchip was easy and posed no problems. Our cat wouldn't use the cat flap at first which is what we expected so it took a lot of coercion (treats/food) and nudging but he got there quicker than we thought he would because he is so used to us being his doormen and would just sit by a door and window and meow until we let him in but we didn't cave in as we showed him that the only way in and out is through the cat flap which meant that if he wasn't going to use it we would go outside and coerce him to use it and the same for if he wanted to leave the house. This has now meant that he has learned that he can get in and out using the cat flap on his own so now I'm not having to get up at silly o'clock to let him out. He is a stubborn cat and still after 2 weeks comes to the front door and windows but if we ignore him we'll here him clambering through the cat flap followed by a meow on the app. My only criticisms with the cat flap so far is the very slight delay in the flap opening and how strong the magnet/resistance is which means that there is a few Harry has looked out of the cat flaps before he finally goes through and on occasion it takes 2 attempts for him to go through which shows on the app as him exiting twice at the same time, so if you don't have a particularly strong cat be aware. In regards to the app it is great because you can control the cat flap functions ie in only/out only and the curfew which is why we initially purchased this cat flap. Because we have been letting our cat use the cat flap carte blanche so that he gets used to it we haven't used the curfew feature yet but will start slowly introducing it soon (hopefully it doesn't confuse him) but to be honest I'm not sure if we will need to use it at the moment because the app shows that now that he is pretty much used to it he is in during the night and doesn't go out til about 3:30am which we are ok with at the moment. The app has been great as well for these first few weeks because we have been able to see our cat's progress and we know he has been using the cat flap whereas with a traditional one we wouldn't have known that he was using it as much. The app is great because we can see how much time he spends outside and the times he goes out and comes back in and in the app as well if your cat does manage to go out/in through a door or window you can change it yourself in the app so it doesn't wreck your stats too much. And now that he is used to it we have started seeing patterns so when it comes to setting up the curfew functions we can bare them in mind. The app and cat flap function perfectly fine and the only thing that I can see at the moment that need adding is the function to change the notification sound with in the app so that it can vibrate or play a different sound other than a cat meowing. I highly recommend this product as it functions perfectly fine for my purposes and I can now get a full nights sleep.

Clever technology.
Clever piece of kit. Longer battery life (months not weeks). Change settings remotely using App, and also you know if cats are going in and out (see picture). You have to purchase the complete internet kit for this to work. The app is a bit clunky but works. Peace of mind as you know whether your cats are inside or outside.
