Will it work on a track ball mouse so i can use it on a usb input?

This cable is designed as a programming Cat cable for certain amateur radio transceivers by Yaesu, with the 8 Pin Mini DIN wired specifically for these radios, and not as a mouse-USB adapter. Besides, the description states: "USB to 8 Pin Mini DIN Male" and I strongly suspect your track ball mouse has a male PS/2 type connector, so you will not be able to connect it directly to a USB port using this cable.

I’m trying to connect my video camera to my computer via S video. Is the 8pin mini din the same as an s video input?

I'm so sorry, I only know its working pretty well for MIDI signal information which are coming from my KORG Keyboard running to USB of Mac Pro. First YOU HAVE TO TEST IT (cable)for me it was the unique solution I can tell you, maybe try it

The 8 pin mini din male end shown in your two pictures are different. which picture is correct?

To my knowledge, the 8 pin mini din is a standard configuration. In other words, there is only one configuration.
