Pickled Tea (aka Lahpet) is from Myanmar (formerly Burma) and is served as a Tea Leaf Salad or Lahpet Thoke, something you have to try when visiting! It's a delicious mix of ingredients such as: Pickled Tea, Peanut Oil, garlic, dried shrimp, tomatoes, fish sauce, lime juice, chillies and fried nuts and beans (available on ). In Myanmar, Lahpet was used as a peace offering between kingdoms. Today Tea Leaf is offered when visiting a family home or attending a ceremony. Add some tea to your salads, rice, noodle, meat or fish dishes to give them a bit of extra flavour.
