I love this butter knife
I love this butter knife. It makes cutting and spreading cold butter on toast so much easier. Not sure why it has some bad reviews. It doesn't work as well as a hot knife through butter, but it's definitely far easier to cut cold butter versus a table knife, which only seems to splinter cold butter and make a lot of chopping noise!

Works well
Works well on butter straight from the fridge. Doesnโt tear the bread

Design Disappointment
I first came across this butter spreader at Japan House in Kensington and loved its sleek, minimalist design. It looked beautifully made, and I thought it would be a useful addition to my kitchen. However, after ordering it on Amazon and using it a handful of times, itโs now found its way to the back of my utensil drawer. While it certainly looks great, it doesnโt perform as well as Iโd hoped. I can draw the butter easily enough, but actually spreading it onto bread is quite difficult โ which rather defeats the purpose. In short, itโs a lovely-looking product, but unfortunately it doesnโt deliver on function.
User
Weird angleโฆ
Looks good, but a terrible design. The weird angle makes it almost impossible to spread the butter! The butter collects on the angled side so you have to sort of scrape the butter onto the toast as the angle prevents itโs spreading!
User
Not good for spreading butter
I bought it to make it easier to spread butter from a block. Sadly it does the opposite. It's easier to use a normal knife.
User
Lifesaver when wanting buttery toast with butter straight from fridge
Great product that helps soften straight from the fridge butter, gets a good spread on toast.

Finally a good solution to a yummy problem
This tool/knife makes thin noodle like shaving of butter which spread and melt easily on my toast.Does what it does well and it looks good too! Most importantly, it's made in Japan and not China so no worries on the actually metal use to made this.I had too many nasty surprises with Made in China garbage so I always go out of my way to buy non-China made items especially on something I use with my food.

User
