It was between the SteelSeries QcK Prism cloth and cheaper XL alternatives. In the end I opted for the SS QcK Prism XL as after watching unboxing videos I saw the material was slightly different than even the other SteelSeries alternatives. It is thicker and smoother than their regular XL cloth and it is less smooth than their hard cloth. It is also thinner than their heavy duty alternative. So it actually was the perfect material that I was looking for in terms of smoothness. I didn't want something that was too cloth-like in feeling. I wanted a very smooth polyester feeling but not something that was too slippery like a hardcover material. The RGB lighting has a great range and in the SteelSeries software which I already use for their mouse and headset it was immediately recognised. You can either have them all go to the same colour scheme or you can customise it individually. It has two independent zones (top and bottom) and the light is of course brightest on the left side of the mousepad where the RGB lighting is situated but even during day time the colours reach the other end of the mousepad which is impressive. You can fully change the colour scheme and there are many possibilities here you can also change the general brightness level of the pad as well. This was especially great as the pad has an insanely good max brightness level. I was really surprised! In my pictures you can see the brightness level with it about halfway, I turned it down as I didn't want it to distract my eyes from the action going on my monitor in games. But you can find the perfect sweet spot that suits yourself by adjusting the brightness level in the SteelSeries software. In terms of the surface it has held up really well these past few months of constant use and cleaning it is quite easy you just need a slightly damp cleaning cloth - ideally a microfiber cloth that does not leave cloth residue after going over it with a damp one you can use a dry one. In terms of dust collection I notice my desk seems to collect more dust than the cloth, don't ask me how that works, but in any case cleaning it once per month was fine for where I live. If you live in an area with more dust in the air you might find you need to clean it more often. The cloth works well with my mouse and I noticed an immediate difference versus using the mouse on the table surface. I never get any tracking errors while using the mousepad and I would definitely recommend going XL as then you no longer have to fight the position of the mousepad when adjsuting your keyboard position. I use a different position of my mouse and keyboard for different games. Apex Legends - Call of Duty I put my keyboard at an angle and use the mouse quite close to the keyboard while strategy games like League - Minion Masters - StarCraft 2 I use the mouse further away from the keyboard and the keyboard straight. This is where the XL comes in handy as I just have so much room to move my mouse and keyboard around on the pad without ever having to move the pad itself. I have a very smooth table surface and the pad stays in its position. Though overtime I do notice it moves ever so slightly each day and I just have to re-position the entire pad a few times a month. A word of warning, you will probably need to get used to the pad the first week, as the RGB is wrapped in a plastic sewing for durability. But once you find the sweet spot in terms of how you want the pad to be positioned on your table (in my sitting position and on my table I found it best to have the pad overhanging the edge of the table). But in any case once you find that sweet spot the RGB sewing won't bother you anymore. Additionally just from daily use the sewing flattens down with the pad a bit so it gets more comfortable with usage.

Awesome mouse pad There are a few rgb mouse pads now on the market but I’ve had two of these over the years now and have loved owning it both times. The size of the pad is great it fits a full size keyboard and still leaves plenty of space for your mouse. The material itself is really nice and your mouse will glide across smoothly. It also has a nice padded base that grips the desk well and is comfortable on your wrist on long uses. To clean can be a bit of a sod because of the sticking round the edge for the lighting effects and the fact if you don’t dry it flat it will warp slightly, if it does soak it again and leave kt a few days to dry again, sorted my one back out when it did this. The steel series control software is also easy to use and has great colour choice. The colours themselves come through strong and bright and the split or rainbow modes look great in the dark.

A few others have mentioned here that the brightness of the LED strip to the right-hand side is much dimmer than the left-hand side. The connector is based on the left side, so it makes sense. However, some video reviews showed it working fine. On speaking to SteelSeries, they arranged a replacement. Unfortunately, that had the same issue. This could just mean that it's down to the amount of power available through the USB ports on my system. I don't have anything else to test on. All that said, it's a perfect pad. Easy to clean, big and looks great, especially with the LED synced up with other products. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent product, ordered to replace a smaller one I’ve had for a number of years. Rolled out and laid pretty flat right away, overnight this was then completely flat. Cleaning can be a pain with these led models, but the look on the desk is worth it.

Absolutely love this product! First of all the mat is made out of excellent quality fabric, it is robust and the rubber material underneath keeps the mat in place. The LED lights are a lot bigger and brighter than I expected and I love how you can customise through the Steelseries software. Additionally the stitching that holds the LED lights to the mat is strong, flush and complements the design. After testing out many games, I can safely say the mousemat safely meets your needs if you want to play fast paced competitive games. Overall although this product is pricey. You are getting an excellent quality product. I have used this for month prior to this review and there is no sign of wear.

Not sure what all the complaints are about regarding it not staying flat. Mine went flat after 2 days of the keyboard and mouse being laid on it. Really good mouse mat, little bit of glide on the first couple of weeks but as it's wearing it doesn't seem to be as slippery. Perfect size, plenty of space. RGB is bright enough, it slightly fades towards the right side but still looks great. Happy overall

It is just a great mousepad, and the RGB lighting is bright and easy to change with the software. Moreover, the cleaning is easy, albeit I found it best to use a lint roller on it for maximum clean-age.

The mouse mat is great I can put my keyboard and have enough room for my mouse. Very smooth and the lighting is very neon and bright. I had a coolermaster mousemat before and this is brighter and the stitching is high quality and white not black so the light stands out. Very happy to order from Amazon it was great value too local shops took too long to get stock and was 33 dollars more very fast shipping during covid and faster than expected. Thank You Amazon!

Die Oberfläche fühlt sich angenehm an und die Maus gleitet sauber und präzise darüber. Besonders gut gefällt mir die RGB-Beleuchtung am Rand. Sie sieht im Dunkeln richtig gut aus und lässt sich passend zum restlichen Gaming-Setup einstellen. Auch die Verarbeitung macht einen hochwertigen Eindruck und das Mauspad liegt stabil auf dem Schreibtisch.

very good quality and performance for the mouse. the only problem is the lightning is strong and bright at the source of the cable while it's fading at the other side. which lead to kind of bad uniformity of colors. stars changed from 4/5 to 3/5 since the colors got weaker and weaker sadly.
