I could speak about Berserk for weeks--scratch that, YEARS and always have something new to say about it, so I won't or this will be the longest review in the history of Amazon. Instead, I'll focus this review on this physical book alone.After the massive disrespect Berserk suffered from its 2016-2017 anime adaptation, this Deluxe Edition absolutely makes up for it. The quality is impeccable, the book is huge, sturdy, heavy, and the pages smooth and thick so there's no transparency to them and they're not coming off any time soon. If there ever existed a manga that deserved this fancy oversized treatment, that's Berserk, don't doubt that for a split second. The art has so much heart in it, so much movement and energy, so expressive, and getting to enjoy that in this size and quality is nothing short of mind-blowing. A "parental advisory" and barcode stickers are on the book but they came off easier than a banana peel and left no trace of glue whatsoever. Make no mistake, with the price on Amazon during the preorders sitting around $32 dollars, new readers better go with this edition over the original paperbacks. Not only this is a greater bang for your buck, but you're in fact SAVING MONEY since each of the original volumes is about $15 each. So the money that would get you two of those volumes can get you this instead, that's one more volume in spectacular quality.I bought the original volumes up to the most recent one (39) and after checking out the Deluxe Edition at my local B&N I was instantly convinced: old fans shouldn't think twice before re-buying the whole series in this new format. At the pace at which is comes out, I really don't think you can't reserve $35 each roughly 3 months (volume 1 came out on March, this one on July, and the next one will be out in November), so reserving 10 dollars a month is a joke. A child could do it with their parents' allowance!So, there's no excuse to not go for a next-level way of enjoying such an epic story presented with such amazing artwork. I can't shill this book enough!That said, I could say I got one grievance with it, and only one: pages that are supposed to be full-color are B&W (see my first image of it), so this comes close to perfection but it's not quite there. But since color pages are so few and far in between, and there's so much more good to this, I can overlook it. At least the original covers are printed in full color toward the end of the book.So only two things should ever stop you from getting this: you're too young and/or faint of heart.

c'est beau, c'est lourd, c'est impressionnant comme ouvrage.les dessins ne sont pas un simple agrandissement, mais un upscale vectoriel. ce n'est pas aussi quali que si c'etait dessine pour ce format, mais c'est largement mieux que tout les autres grand format que j'ai pu voir.. certains on meme des pixels a cause de l'agrandissement.ici, non. L'image est niquel, le papier de qualite, la texture cuir de la couverture est tres bluffante pour du cuir vegetal.Les petis soucis, sont sont prix unitaire et il faut compter 15 ouvrage.. ca fait une grosse somme tout de meme. La peinture rouge qui s'en va un peu a certains endroit.. mais ca fait un cote use, dark qui va bien je trouve.Et le gros probleme, c'est pas le livre. C'est amazon qui traite tout les livres de la meme facon. que vous achetiez un ptit de poche a 2euros ou une edition prestige a plus d'une centaine d'euros c'est tjs sans aucune protection et les livres arrive avec les coins abime ou carrement des coups. tout le fait le meme constat.. mais rien ne change.normalement j'aurais finis de me payer la collection dans .. 2 ans.

The book is in excellent condition and an excellent product overall.However, since the product description does not list the chapters in the book (a crucial detail for anyone interested in purchasing this edition) it is very easy to order the wrong volume mistakenly.My only issue with this listing is that the product descriptions should include a chapter list so customers can be better informed when making a purchase.

What to say about the book. My son just loves the entire series. This is his 2nd and 3rd is on its way. It is definitely collectors delight.
