Although I wear hearing protection, eye protection and leg chaps when cutting firewood I've always found safety helmets uncomfortable. As I was cutting down some standing dead ash a fellow came up to me and told me how he had a friend recently killed by a branch breaking loose (a widow-maker) and hitting him on the head. So, when cutting a tree down I will now wear a helmet. You're never too old to learn and heed advise. This helmet seems to be fine and good insurance. However, I'll first look up to see any potential widow-makers.

The only reason I didn't return it because it did save my head from getting hurt multiple times. it's comfy to wear but the strap is horrible. it doesn't stay and often fall out when looking down. the chin support in the strap blocking the eye viewing when the straps fall out from the chin. I finally so annoyed by it and removed the strap completely.if you want to wear a miner's flashlight, the design doesn't accommodate that so it slips and fall off easily.

I am glad I bought this. Summer in California can be hot and I needed a lightweight, comfortable, ventilated breathable hard hat. The AMSTON Safety Hard Hat fits the bill. I have to wear a hard hat the entire day to set up antennas and climb masts... This hat was perfect with all these requirements.

Wear this on various job sites...I don't have to wear one every day, but it's there when I need it. Come with detachable chin strap.
