December 2019: My daughter is a senior in high school. I used to get her the candy advent calendars when she was little, but now she’s older and doesn’t like “lame chocolate”. I worried that this squishy characters advent calendar would be too childish for her, but bought it anyway because my poor mama heart was thinking that “this will be the last Christmas that she’ll be our little girl.”I can not overstate how much she loved this calendar! The characters were cute, and had a weird tacky-but-not-sticky coating on them. Every morning, she would open the day and be excited to see what that day’s character was. Not only that, but she would take them to school, and all of her friends (girls and boys) wanted to know what it was that day. Often, during class one or more characters would be “borrowed” by classmates who liked the squish.My daughter gave a lot to her friends as gifts, put one in each of the family stockings, and kept her favorites. She told me that this calendar made her so happy!If you think your son or daughter is too old for this, get it anyway! My daughter appreciated a bit of whimsy amongst all the college applications and AP classes.

I love advent calendars, have for four decades, before they became a hot item. This calendar is beyond adorable. It’s going to be difficult for me to put the wee squishies back into their doors at the end (I reuse my calendars). This should hold up to a few years worth of fun.

Its a fun idea for a kid or tween, but they are not very good quality. The box is really Cheesy looking and the squishies themselves kind of look like squishy fetus’. I think for the price it’s a rip off. I wouldn’t recommend.I edited my review to one star instead of 2 because the squishies that comes in the box are not at all like the ones pictured. They are way worse.

Great product! This is my 2nd year to purchase purple lady bug advent calendars for my granddaughters (last year 3 and 8, this year 4 and 10) - and am looking forward to them having as much fun this year as they did last year. Last year, the 3 year old enthusiastically played with her squishes as soon as they were unboxed, the 9 year old preferred a more gentle play and display approach. The 3 yo squishes did collect dirt and grime which really didn't clean off - but she also took them outside and had them tromping thru dirt and sand.

Super cute! Bought for my 3 year old because I don’t give him candy and I’m too lazy to make an advent calendar myself (at least I’m honest). Lol Warning : they pick up EVERYTHING. We are a pet friendly home so within second these are covered in hair. Among other things. I don’t expect these to last after the month - but that’s completely fine by me. He thoroughly enjoys having a surprise every morning with his vitamins and I am pleased with my purchase!

I would recommend the purple lady bug one (it is only a few dollars more) over the battop one, the toys are slightly larger and the box is about double the size I made buying both work by taking the insides out and putting half into each box so my kids could both be happy but both of them will want the bigger one if they were even close to the same size it would be nice

I buy an advent calendar for my nephew every year, then we open them up together daily. This was his least favorite. At first he was excited, then sometimes he didn't even want to open it. The squishy toy has a strong chemical smell when you open it, and then you get use to it. They stayed sticky for awhile. Some of the animals were really cute, some were duplicates in another color, and some we just didn't know what it was...a blob with eyes?

I’m so impressed with this advent calendar. They look even better in person and my daughter adores them. She looks forward to opening it every day and it helps her keep her patience for her Christmas presents. This is way better than the candy filled calendars that are the same every day. She’s 12 and I was concerned she may be too old for it but I’m glad I got it for her and hope there are more styles next year since this was such a hit.
