I bought this cane to take on a European vacation as a precaution because I had a hip replaced a few months ago, and knew the trip would involve a lot of steps and walking. The cane is attractive and easy to set up. I am a 6 foot man and it was long enough for me at its longest position, and packs easily in the folded position. I am so glad I took it, because after 3 days of a 13 day trip, I was having trouble with steps, and this cane was a lifesaver! It was sturdy and I never had any issues with it not standing up to the task. After literally miles of walking and thousands of steps, both the cane and I made it home in fine condition (although my daughter said I nearly took out a few other tourists, using my cane as a pointer!). It will stay with my travel bag from now on! (Look out, fellow tourists!)

I am in my early 40's and purchased this for occasional use because I suffered a knee injury a few years ago that periodically acts up and I'm forced to take my weight off it for about a week each time until it heals. Ultimately I need surgery, but this will have to do for now in addition to my knee brace. So I'm new to canes and have nothing to compare this to in that regard. I knew I definitely wanted something that folded up since I only use it once or twice a year. The handle is wood and although that sounded nice in the description I didn't anticipate how uncomfortable that would be on my hand, it really digs in. It's smooth and well-shaped, but with the injury I'm forced to really lean on it and it's a bit uncomfortable. It could also be that I'm just not used to a cane. The color is pretty, feminine and a blend of peach and pink tones and the handle is a very dark brownish-red that appears black at a glance. It folds and unfolds easily, although a rubber band is needed to keep it folded up. It's adjustable, although I would warn prospective buyers to pay attention to the adjustment span of 33"-37". According to the instructions, you should take your height in inches and divide by two and the resulting number should match the height of the cane. I'm 5'5" and when I divide 65" by two I get 32.5" which is actually shorter than this cane goes. In my case it's "close enough" at it's lowest, but I've never considered myself to be short and yet I'm apparently at the very minimum height to use this cane properly, which surprises me, so just be sure to check your needed measurements. I was disappointed to discover the "carrying case" is a disposable piece of junk; I saw similar canes with nylon drawstring bags here on Amazon but this came with a junky clear plastic thing that I would not consider a proper case. It has sharp edges and I expect it will tear apart easily. It will do since I only take it out a couple times a year, but if I used this more regularly I would have to go find some sort of real case for sure because this one is a joke. Even with my complaints however, this cane will still suit my particular needs for occasional use and I feel the price was mostly fair.

A foldable cane is a great invention! I used mine most recently on a vacation, and the cane could be easily folded and stuck in my carry-on bag on the plane. It was nice in a group lunch at a restaurant to fold it and place it under my chair where people wouldn't trip over it. In any setting where you had to sit (like. on a tour bus), it was easy to fold it in half and keep in my lap. I tended to use it more,, giving me a greater sense of security, because it was so easy to assemble and disassemble in a moment.

The order went smoothly and the cane arrived timely. Having a foot injury requiring the use of a boot, my daughter found the cane worked nicely to take some of the pressure off, not to mention providing good balance without having to use bulky crutches. Being in school (a nursing program), my daughter was not allowed to use crutches or any support device while in class, so the foldup cane was the perfect solution. Made it easy to use inbetween classes and getting to/from her vehicle. Too, it saved the day by her not having to drop out a semester! Easily stores away/not heavy or bulky. In no way was it unstable either - strong as can be. It is an excellent walking device for those who don't always need one. And the fancy flower design made it a nice feminine touch too. Highly recommended.

Being young and new to a disability, I wanted a reasonably snazzy cane. I ordered the copper swirl and green cyclone colors (yes, because I'm vain and wanted to have different canes to match my outfits). Both colors are lovely, and I've regularly gotten compliments on them. The canes have worked well for me. They're durable, I can collapse it on the airplane when I travel, keep my nieces and nephews at bay easily, and periodically use it to bop a coworker over the head. I even used it to open a beer once (which I don't recommend; it did leave visible dings on the handle). I use it to point at things from a further distance, and have killed three bugs on the wall with it. I'm 5'11", but have fairly long arms, so this cane works for me on the second-from-tallest setting 36" (my physical therapist helped me fit it properly). My friend has the same cane and the height works for her, and she's 5'4, but hers is on the smallest setting, 33 inches. I have been using a cane daily for five months now, and these are my only two canes. They have been dropped, ran into things, survived my nieces and nephews playing with them, gone through security at the airport, and generally supported a busy young-professional. The bottom rubber (nice that it's grippy!) is in fine shape, the metal shows no visible dings or sign of wear, and the cord inside has given me no problems. The only visible damage is on the handle. My physical therapist said he liked the handle, though, because it has a much better grip-style than the candycane handles. I'll mention three small cons: 1. When you inevitably scratch the handle, it's visible, because the wood beneath is so light. 2. The case is crap. I just carry around a piece of fabric I stitched together to keep it from springing back to life suddenly. Even a small strap or two would work fine. 3. Sometimes it clinks as you walk. I think it's an artifact of it being collapsible (the clinking seems to come most frequently after I collapse it, and from the joints), but I think the convenience of collapsing it is worth people hearing you coming. One final note I'd like to add is that if you're new to having a disability, having two of these is *super* convenient. If I limp into the bedroom without one, I'm often really glad I left the other one in there the night before. It also helps when you have memory problems; finding at least one of them is easier that way.

This works well as a basic cane. The part that folds and is nearest to the handle frequently is hard to pull apart, so I often have to leave it unfolded at this juncture, which means it doesn't fit in the plastic ring that is meant to keep it secure. If you're trying to get settled somewhere like a plane and you need to hurry and get settled, it can get frustrating. A loop to put around your wrist, a rubberized handle or a partly rubberized shaft would make this much more convenient. If you have your hands full and need to lean it against something for a moment, there's nothing to stop it from falling over, which I find most annoying. Virtually every time I'm at a counter making a purchase and have to rest the cane against the counter while I get out my wallet and pay, the cane slides from where I carefully placed it and crashes to the ground. Awkward. All this falling causes the handle, which is painted, not stained, to chip away and look worn. The painted shaft is attractive, much more interesting than plain silver or black, and has proved durable after several years. I like that you can match a cane to your personality with multiple options from which to choose. The folding cane is a great concept, but the execution of this one has its flaws.
