CNC Workshop Setup
I recently built a new stand/enclosure for my cnc machine and needed a new place to put my laptop when I run projects. When I found this item, saw the price, and read a lot of great reviews I figured it was worth a try. Also, I asked a couple questions on the item listing and several people gave answers that were helpful in making my decision to purchase this item. If you happen to be one of the people who answered my questions, thank you!!🙌🏻 I changed the way it mounts. Instead of assembling the clamp-on parts of the unit, I just used its holes and mounted that directly onto the frame of my cnc enclosure (which is simply framed with 2x4's). This is PLENTY secure, and the arm moves around easily and I can also swing it out of the way enough for me to pull my welding cart out if I need to. I did notice when the arm is swung over the right (so that i'm standing side by side with the cnc machine), it has a little more bounce/play but if I swing the arm around so that I'm standing directly in front of the cnc machine, it's much more solid. It's probably because of the way I mounted the main pole part to my cnc enclosure. It's not a big deal at all and I'll probably just make something to secure the top couple inches of the vertical pole to the enclosure as well. This will eliminate any right-leaning play. Overall assembly was easy, but the text/diagrams in the instructions are pretty small and a little difficult to make out but I got through it and ultimately emerged victorious. The cable management clips are nice. They're definitely helpful. This item is exactly what I was looking for to use in my shop with my cnc machine.👍🏻

Thick metal. Great workmanship except the screw.
Wow. Well everything went well of assembling the laptop desk mount. The screws though from the panel where the laptop sit on mounts to whatever the other mount is. Is very easy to stripped. But I assemble perfectly fine. The metal the strength of it is super. When typing on the laptop or even tapping it does wobble but it's no big deal. It's very min and I didn't bought this mount to even use it but just to store it there because im using mouse and keyboard with monitor. I have it also to keep from if any bugs go up its very min. Either way this is fantastic for the price. I knock one star. Oh instruction paper is good size but small lettering. Hope they blow the lettering bigger. But this is best bang for the buck.

Well-made, easy install
I have two work laptops and a personal laptop and needed some desk organizers. These desk mounts were well-reviewed on Amazon so I gave them a try last year. They’re very easy to install and all the parts are well-made and feel heavy duty. They keep the laptops off the desk and are very easy to adjust in terms of height and position.

95% satisfied
Got one for the laptop, liked it so much, I bought another for my LED monitor. The current monitor does not have the VESA mounting holes, but 4 velcro pads took care of that. The next one will. Loved the second one, right up until I grabbed the wrong nut off my bench to put the plate on the swivel mount. discovered too late that I had threaded a fine thread onto a course thread stud. But hey, there's a handy allen slot on the end of the stud, so I can spin it out, spin a set screw with some thread lock on the nut in, and be back in business. WRONG WRONG WRONG In their effort to stupid proof the mount, they also made it UN-REPAIRABLE. Well mostly. They squished the tail of the stud, so even if it came loose, it couldn't come out. But since it was dark behind everything, I went ahead and tried to turn the stud out, got it most of the way, and then ripped out every thread there was. Wound up drilling it out so I could put an M5 set screw and 2 nuts in, with the threadlock, and eventually getting it mounted and the monitor in place. What should have been a simple stud replacement became an hour ordeal because somebody took stupid proofing a bit too far, and yet not far enough at the same time. BTW, had to use a long set screw and two nuts, because there wasn't enough clearance to put a long bolt in place of the stud and get the hex head past the swivel base. Yes, it's my own brand of stupidity, but if you're going to make something non-removable, make it NON-REMOVABLE, not partially and then non. Once I was past that hiccup, loving it for the monitor as much as I love it for the laptop. Edit: One thing I had to do for my laptop unit. The stud that holds the plate to the arm prevents it from going completely flat when it's up. Flipping the arm over solved that, but no mention of the necessity to get it flat in the documentation. In the flat position, there is no pull on the stud, only retaining it on the flanges. 2nd Edit: NOTE: This is adjustable, but the hinge bushings ARE NOT suitable for constant movement. Got it to pivot my laptop and 2nd monitor out of the way and secured while traveling. The main bushing at the mounting tube for the older laptop is starting to sag. The arm for the new LED monitor is not having a problem... yet. It's plastic and can not take the semi constant 180 degree movement between stowed and use positions with the laptop weight. I will disassemble when I have a chance and see about upgrading / replacing whatever I have to work with. This is an older laptop, so newer / thinner / lighter laptops and tablets may not have a problem.

Fantastic mount, even for keyboards
I looked at all the keyboard dedicated mounts and most reviews had issues. So I ordered this to put my 17" keyboard on. This thing is heavy duty and even though narrower than the keyboard but the bottom lip holes it right in place and is perfect for what I was looking for. My desk has a rounded front and I have three monitors. The one on the left is my work monitor and since that placement means I had to lean over to type on the keyboard all day. I'm a systems/software engineer and work from home full time, so needless to say, my back, neck and arms would get sore after a days work. In comes this fantastic arm with a perfect length. Once extended it places my arms in a perfect position to type when I'm sitting straight up in the chair. So it's a winner for those with awkward situations like mine. One thing to note is, the price is great, but it comes in a lot of pieces, so lots of assembly to do. Instructions are good but tiny text so at my age, had to squint to see which screws I needed. The arm is strong and stays steady and swivels to the side of the desk when not in use. Build is heavy duty and stable if you tighten things as they are supposed to be. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone needing it for a laptop or keyboard. Nicely machined and solid.

Great Mouse arm
I mounted this upside down under my desk to serve as a mouse holder since my chair arm is a good 6 inches below the top of my desk. Only issue I had was the laptop tray wouldn't go flat until I figured out it would if I just flipped the arm over. Seems plenty strong enough to hold my hand, when fully extended, without slipping down the pole so I'd say it works quite well. No sharp edges, they are all smooth/rounded, which is good because my keyboard is in my lap so my arm brushes against it from time to time. It comes with a cable clip that has slots for the 3 allen wrenches used to adjust it. Also came with screws to mount a monitor using the vesa mount (which is normally attached to the laptop tray). If for some reason you decide you'd rather have a monitor mount you can convert it to that. Just don't put the little circles that keep your laptop from slipping over the screws so you can remove the visa mount without messing them up. Tip: Don't just use the rubber circles, the entire thing has a sticky side and the less slipping the better! It's all smooth metal, so things slide easily on it without something to add friction. I have another wali mount that uses this same tray for an actual laptop. Only issue I have with it is the 1/2" strip of metal keeping the laptop from sliding off is too short for my laptop. It sometimes slips over it when I'm messing with the tray. That said, the front of my laptop is rounded and badly angled up in the front, which is a poor laptop design for anyone trying to use a tray and many don't work at all (Win7 era Dell Inspiron 15 - 3000 series - it was given to me for free lol). It would need 1" to keep it in place, but I can see how there might be an issue with thinner laptops having a strip of metal above the keyboard. Anyway, I used a wrench that came with it in the middle to keep it in place so it's all good (might change it out for a binder clip later).

GOOD PURCHASE
Very strong and durable. My ONLY dislike is the the LIP that holds it in place is SHORT and my laptop has slipped OFF a couple time but luckily I caught it.

Easy Setup, Very Sturdy
Easy to setup, great for my macbook, very sturdy making me comfortable that my laptop wont fall off. I have noticed at times that the screws on the bottom become a tad loose at times but just a sleight tighten and its good to go

Super sturdy
Just installed this on my sit and stand desk. Love that there are multiple ways to mount it and that they are all very sturdy. Appreciate the detail of having a space to hold the Allen wrenches so that they don’t get lost. Would have been nice if a small wrench and Phillips driver were included to mount the laptop tray.
