Great buffer and you get exactly what you pay for
I run a detailing company on the side and I've been doing it about 12 years and used over 20 different types of polishes and waxes. Most of the reviews that are bad are people who have no idea what they are doing. I keep reading easily correctable problems. Here's the low down.I remember I paid like $26 the first time for this buffer. It lasted heavy use for 3 years 2 months. On small aircraft, cars, trucks, etc. But I definitely got my money's worth. The good:-The orbital buffing takes a beating and keeps on going.-You can press hard enough to get a good buffing and it's motor is strong enough to keep going.-The ergonomics are great. Holding at different angles etc moving around hard to get places and around bottom of airplanes and corners of body panels.-The 6in is great because it can get a lot more that you don't have to redo by hand later. (Tight spaces etc)-The on/off button is easy to use and press quickly and is in a good spot on it for that.-The cord is connected to it in a good spot. I jut skin it over my shoulder and it stays out of my way most of the time.-The handles allow a firm press with two hands and much greater control over it.-It's less than $30. Way better than any of its competitors for what you get.The Bad:-I have Black and Decker products that have lasted way longer than 3 years. So I was disappointed when I heard a pop and lost it. I still have a cheap nicad battery operated craftsmen bottom of the line drill that is 9 years old and works great.-After just under 3 years the glue started to lose its effectiveness and the pad was starting to separate. But it was an easy fix with some gorilla glue.-As soon as you try to one hand it in the middle, you accidentally turn it off and it gets annoying sometimes from a palm press. Minor issue.-6in pads are hard to find when not looking on Amazon. 2/6 auto places near me had what I was looking for.Tips:-Don't use any of the pads that come in the box. They are crap. But that's not what you're buying it for. Buy aftermarket ones on here.-There's a foam pad on Amazon that works great. Quick search will find it at reasonable prices.-Watch basic tutorials on waxing if you're new to buffers on YouTube. They will solve 95% of the issues I read about on here.-Give the buffer a chance to work. Don't have just one issue and decide it's crap. It's not crap. You're just getting frustrated too quickly. Try changing polishes or waxes. That might be the issue or your paint might be too far gone to get the result you want etc. It's a buffer. Not a magic machine.-If you use it correctly with good polishes and waxes you will still get a great result 90% of the time.-Any general car, NuFinish works wonders. I suggest Meguiars, Turtle Wax, Adams polishes, or Chemical guys and their top of the line products on special cars. I use Turtle Wax Black on my black truck.Overall:Definitely worth the money and buying again. It's competitors just aren't that great in comparison. There could be improvements that I would pay another ten bucks for. But it's inexpensive, does the job well for a few years of heavy abuse, and you have great results for an inexpensive investment.

A great entry-level orbital buffer that offers excellent performance and value for the money.
The BLACK+DECKER Buffer Polisher WP900 is a great entry-level orbital buffer that offers excellent value for the money. Its 6-inch random orbit action ensures a high-quality finish, making it suitable for both waxing and polishing tasks. The dual-handle design provides comfortable and easy handling, allowing for extended use without causing hand fatigue. The polisher comes with two wool bonnets and two foam applicator bonnets, giving you the flexibility to tackle different detailing tasks. The foam applicators are durable, even if they get a small tear when removing them.Additionally, the separately sold bag of applicators fits right over the original ones, allowing for faster use and extended convenience. The motor spins at around 4,400 orbits per minute, providing sufficient power for light to medium detailing work. The 10-foot cord offers ample reach, making it convenient to use without constantly switching outlets. The buffer is also quiet, powerful, and vibration-free, making it a joy to use. It's light yet feels professional, enhancing the overall experience.I feel lucky to have found this product on Amazon, as the entire purchasing and delivery process was seamless, making it one of the best experiences I've had.Overall, the BLACK+DECKER WP900 is a reliable and budget-friendly option for anyone looking to maintain their car's finish without breaking the bank. Highly recommended!

EXCELLENT FOR SMALL TO INTERMEDIATE SIZED JOBS...
The BLACK+DECKER Buffer Polisher, 6 inch Orbital Car Polisher, with Wool or Foam Bonnets (WP900) was purchased during September of 2017 for the price of $29.97 plus tax. The same product is available now for the price of $39.99 plus tax (December 10, 2024).It's an orbital car polisher, either it works, or it doesn't. This one does work as it's upposed to...as well as one would like it to work. The most important aspect of using a machine such as this is using it properly. However, if for some reason, the polisher is being utilized in a manner that may impart damage to the vehicle finish, it actually disengages. There's only a certain amount of hand pressure that it will allow before it stops orbiting.Essentially, all one must do is guide the polisher...no pressure is required from the user.I have been using this polisher for 7 years now and it has performed flawlessly. The only aspect about ownership that I am not so thrilled about is cleaning the bonnets. Other than that, I would recommend this polisher to anyone who needs one for a job that's not too large!

middle of the road
this is the second time I have purchased. I buff the car 5-6 times annually. Previously one lasted 26 months before it fell apart. Performance degrades as you use it (and it get much louder). for the price point and ease of use ( yea, is very comfortable to use and difficult to make burn errors) I feel it is worth the $50. Is a typical B&D product. Update, second use already making grinding noise.
