Fits great. Works great after a year. It has a removeable cover plate that you can take off to add a brass gear instead of the plastic one for extra longevity. I started having issues with the other headlight intermittently not coming up or going down but replaced that motor assembly as well and still had issues. Turns out I had to replace the "Headlight Lamp Module Actuator Control Relay 1990-2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am" which you can get from Hawks motorsports for about $200. So if one or both of your headlights isn't working, you might want to try replacing the headlight control relay which is REALLY easy to do.

When I would lock and unlock my 1999 TransAm with my FOB, my headlights would open and close and then motor would make a grinding sounds. I replaced my driver side headlight motor with this one, and it works perfect, no more opening lights when I lock/unlock car! Quick delivery too!

The ever classic Firebird problem ... the headlight gear grind. This part was a direct drop-in fit and installed perfectly. The motor operates quietly and my light goes up and down like it is supposed to, no grinding, no parking light pop-up. The one thing I really like, and the reason I chose THIS brand, is that the housing cover plate is secured with screws, rather than being chemically bonded together. This means that when the gear wears out (because we all know they wear down ... every single one of them does) I can pop the cover off, rotate the gear 180 degrees, and put the cover back on. I no longer have to screw with Expoxy, JB Weld, Gorilla Glue, tension plates, etc. Someone was finally smart enough to make a serviceable headlight motor! I had to ding one star because I ordered on Prime, 2-day shipping, and it took 3 days. Amazon told me it was delayed arriving at the fulfillment center.

Appears to be a good product. Got it installed and it works as it should. Good choice. I was this thinking of purchasing brass gears from TDS and replace the old with those, but I found this whole unit on Amazon practically the same price of just the gears. You add about 1 hour if you were to replace the gears, between prying open the old case, replacing the gears and than waiting on the glue to set up before reinstalling. So overall, pleased with this and not having to jump thru those extra steps.

Noticed the passenger side headlight acting funny a few weeks ago and one day it started having a grinding sound after it was turned off/closed. This issue also caused the headlights to flip up by only engaging the fog lights. Normally they won’t pop up until headlights are selected on the knob. (Normal operation returned once headlight motor replaced.) So I ordered the motor which came in quick and replaced it without issue. The only difference I could see is that the original motor has a push pin molded on the main harness connector that allows you to clip it to the chassis to keep it out of the way and from dangling. This replacement motor did not have that clip but it’s a small sacrifice to have a working headlight. No more embarrassing grinding noise!

So the install was typical and easy enough. I went ahead and put abrass gear inside so there is no issue in the future. The housing has screws instead of epoxy which is better than OEM. However, I’ve had this on my TransAm for about 8 months. Nothing to hold the hardness into the wall. So it dangles. It’s extremely hard to get in there to add a zip tie and anything to keep it from hanging or moving. So I feel the weight of the hardness is pulling on the plug fitting over the headlight prongs. The electrical plugs that slide over the prongs have a lot of play. Not nice and tight like OEM, very loose. I used a little Siliconized RTV to help keeping the plug from sliding off. The head light has flicked on and off due to poor electrical fitment. Looking for a solution to stop this. It’s just annoying how cheap replacements parts are for an already cheaply made car.

I bought this and fought with installing the motor for a while. I thought it was a done deal and less than a week later, it won’t come all the way up. I flipped the switch a couple times, and now it just jumps and doesn’t move up at all unless I help it.

Installed into my 2001 Pontiac Firebird. Works perfect.

2 local auto parts stores wanted $450 PER MOTOR and a 6 to 12 week wait to n get them. These motors were under $100 and here the next day. They fit perfectly and work just like oem.

My mechanic said he couldn't find one to fix a headlight that wouldn't open up. I had it the very next day from Amazon to give to him to install it. It works perfectly now.
