Once upon a Dare

Absolutely loved this book. It is my first book by this author. It’s not my last! Already bought the rest of the series. This is about Olivia and Cole. Olivia is all work no play/ straight laced. While Cole is focused and fun along with guarded. They meet at a bar when Olivia’s friend dates her to introduce herself to him. After a hot steamy night. She sneaks out. She won’t ever see him again. Except he gets the job she thought she was getting. Now he’s public enemy number one! Yet she can’t resist him either.

Hot, sexy and sweet. Once Upon a Dare is a fantastic read. Sometimes dares are worth taking. Olivia is a lovely strong woman who doesn't want a mans help to get ahead. Cole is strong headed and goes after what he wants. Even when Cole comes off a bit strong he is so totally swoon worthy. Olivia knows how to stand her ground. I really loved the love/hate relationship Cole and Olivia have. There is a strong fire between them that just burns off the pages and leaves all hot and bothered. I love when one night stands turns into something else. This was an amazing read and I'm looking forward to reading more in the Risky Business series.

This is a steamy romance, but Cole was hard to like. Olivia told him over and over that if people found out they were having sex (he was her boss), it would destroy her career. But he just would not listen -- he kept pursuing her, and didn't seem to care about the consequences she would face. She also told him she wanted to build her career on her own, without help, but he didn't listen then either. I had my problems with Olivia too, though. She kept telling Cole they shouldn't sleep together -- but she just could not resist him. So she was partly to blame, since he never forced her. It always bothers me when romance authors write about intelligent, successful women -- who suddenly become idiots as soon as a handsome man kisses them. If a woman was as smart as Olivia was supposed to be, she would have been able to resist Cole. Cole did do some pretty amazing groveling at the end, and that helped -- but I just couldn't get past his complete disregard for how their relationship could damage Olivia's career.

I loved this story and the characters. I had not read any of Jennifer's books before and I loved it.. Just the right amount of spice. Thanks Jennifer, a really good read.

Okay, not exactly an auspicious start for a romance, a sex challenge dare in a bar, after drinking…a wild intentional, one-night stand. However, the setting of high powered ad agency, a peek beyond the world of the mad men agency, makes this captivating. Exposing the extra challenges the women, the very limited number of high powered women in executive positions, grabs and pulls in conflicting turns. The ever looming dangers of rumors and innuendo, of sexual harassment, workplace impropriety, of relationship dangers set and maintain a palpable tension of conflict and confusion for each of the main characters. Blundering responses and misread signals provide halts and starts that fuel, rather than stifle the tone and the plot. Risky business? Yep! However, like the selling tag line in the marketing campaign suggests, maybe women can go from boardroom to bedroom by embracing their inner vixen without any apology. Great to see the women network and protect as well as support each other.

What do you do after you find out that the one night stand who gave you the hottest night of your life takes your promotion. Then you are tasked to work with him and he is now your boss? Olivia is a very hard worker and deserves the promotion. The weekend before the reveal her friend takes her out and dares her to let her hair down for one night and go home with a man of her choosing. Olivia finally decides that she deserves one might of wildness and she promptly leaves in the morning. I felt so bad for Cole in this book. It just felt like every step he makes was the wrong one, especially when he isn't trying to be the bad guy. He is a man who knows what he wants and sometimes doesn't always look at the whole picture before he moves forward with his task. These two were really fun to read about. Even when they were fighting, there was still passion and chemistry.

I love to read and this particular book was right up my alley. It was a fun, entertaining, steamy, and quick read! It was easy to relate to Cole and Olivia, and their witty back and forth banter was thoroughly enjoyable. Both characters came across as strong and knowing what they want (at least professionally), while still being likable. The book starts off with a one night stand dare that the reader just knows is going to end up being something far move complicated, and the author does not disappoint. Olivia is up for a promotion and walks into the office of her boss only to come face to face with her one night stand, the man she spent the most steamy night of her life with.... and he got the partnership she wanted and has basically given up any semblance of a social life for, as she's worked towards it with single-minded focus. Things take off from there as Olivia and Cole cannot contain their feelings or fight their off the charts chemistry in the office, but you'll have to read it to find out where it all leads! Definitely a great first entry into this genre for a brand new author, and I'll be keeping an eye out to see what she brings next. Highly recommend!

As if lusting after a new co-worker/boss wasn't awkward enough Olivia happened to have sex with this one the day before starting her new job. They have an undeniable sexual chemistry but ...she is determined to stand on her own two feet & get the job she deserves from her own merits. A quick read with plenty of steamy scenes. The ending was really cute. "Sleeping with the boss is a credibility death sentence." "a dare, huh? Sweetheart, it may have started that way, but in case you haven't noticed, we can't be in the same room without ripping each other's clothes off, so why keep fighting it?"
