According to the McCormick web site, the product is made with C. cassia (Chinese), not C. verum from Ceylon. C. verum is considered to be the superior cinnamon.

Q: is this cinnamon Non-gmo?

There is no indication on the jar with this information. I would assume if it was non-gmo it would be indicated. The customer service number listed on the label for questions is 1-800-632-5847. We have used McCormicks cinnamon for a long time and it's our go-to product. My husband mixes it, with other things, in ACV. Hope this helps.

You can but you won't get the same effect as with the Cinnamon suger, unless you don't want it to be sweet. If you do, than combine the cinnamon with some sugar on top of the oatmeal
