ABSOLUTELY THE BEST SUPPORT EVER - & IT WORKS!
I love this device, but now I like it even more1. You see, I lost my keys the other day, just days before a trip to my home in Mexico. If I couldnโt have found them, Iโd have had to cancel my trip. So, I got out the Key FInder device and pressed its button twice. It went off, but I didnโt get a response to it. So, I hit it again, it made an unexpected sound and died! further double presses of its button produced nothing! I was pretty freaked out, as I had no idea what I could now do to find them. The lady, who sits my house, and I searched for 2 hours, and nothing! So, I gave up and went to Amazon to see if there was a warranty o the Key Finder. I not only learned that there was a warranty, but I also managed to find a phone number for the makers of it, as well as doing a web search and finding their web site. So, I tried to call them, but only reached voice mail. I left a message there, and I also sent one through the message portal I found there. Not 15 minutes later, I got a call from a guy who, I suspect, is the designer of the device & the founder of the company. He explained to me that these devices work by actually โlisteningโ for the tones that one hears when the button on one is double clicked. The other one hears that tone, and responds with the same tone, so it can be located. He also pointed out a page at his web site, where one can click on a link, and whatever device youโve accessed that web page with, if the device has the ability to produce audio, will generate the necessary tones, so the Key Finder will hear it and respond! So, I got out my smart phone and went to his web site. When I clicked on the link, my phone emitted the needed tones. So, I began to search for the keys with it. But, I still got no response in the house, upstairs. So, I went down to the garage and tried it. I also got no response. But, then I remembered something the maker thad told me, about how he sometimes loses things , and his wife always asks him if heโs looked in the refrigerator! I remembered that Iโd been showing my house sitter where she could find food, and that Iโd opened the big chest freezer in the garage. So, I walked over to it, and as soon as I lifted the lid a crack, I could hear the thing going off! My keys were hiding under a bunch of Salmon fillets! So, not only is this a great device, but it has some of the best, most caring support, that Iโve ever encounter! They're sending me a replacement for my failed unit under their warranty. Plus, now that I know about the ability to use my Smart phone to locate one of them, I can use the 2nd one for a 2nd set of keys! No longer do I need to keep it in a drawer, where I can always find it! Iโve recorded that tone onto my Smart phone, so now I donโt even need to load the web site to use it! There is one caution I would give you - routinely change the battery in the units, and do it annually. They wonโt be fully used up yet, but other devices that are less critical can then use them until theyโre expired, so they donโt go to waste. You surely donโt want them to expire in the units, only to discover that, when youโre trying to find you lost keys! If the unit on the keychain has depleted its battery, you will not be able to locate them! In spite of that - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Reliable and effective. BEST brand!
I have had the KeyRinger brand for years, and I love mine! Yes, NICE and loud, adjustable, and things are findable many feet away, though many of the walls of my home or business (sometimes I have to walk around a little...) For the past several years it has been the XL model. A few years ago I took the time and patience to learn how to assign a number to each and "set" them: then I have an entry in my phone contacts where all the labels are listed, and the URL for the website for calling them. My car keys are #1, office keys are #2, purse is #3, and so on. I pair my insulated stainless steel tumblers for coffee and for ice water with Gearproz HydroNet carriers and keep track of those too. The customer service is great for Keyringer--someone even answers the phone or responds to email and coaches you through. I had to have a warranty replacement once...but wow, a TWO year warranty for an electronic gadget is generous. I have some working well that I have had for years (yes, keep those batteries up--but even they last quite long in the newer KeyRingers...typically a year or more). One of my KeyRingers wore out after probably four or five years of use--understandable--I cheerfully went online and ordered some more to support this business and as one of the best bargains of my life.

valuable investment
As someone who often misplaces keys and other small items, I was eager to try the key finder pair. After struggling with the frustration of lost belongings time and again, I hoped this device would offer a reliable solution. Once I received it, I was curious to see how well it would perform in helping me locate my essentials quickly. One of the standout features is its loud alert, which truly lives up to the claim of being one of the loudest on the market. Whether my keys are buried in the couch cushions or hidden under a pile of papers, the sound cuts through the noise, making it easy to find them. I also appreciated the long-life replaceable battery, which means I wonโt have to worry about running out of power anytime soon. This convenience is a major plus for someone constantly on the go. However, there are a couple of minor drawbacks I encountered. While the sound is indeed loud, the device can be a bit bulky, which may not be ideal for those looking for a more discreet option. Additionally, the range isnโt as far as I expected; it can sometimes struggle to connect if Iโm in a different room. These issues didnโt greatly diminish its overall effectiveness, but they are worth noting for potential buyers. Overall, I believe the key finder pair is a valuable investment for anyone prone to losing their keys or other small items. The combination of a loud alert and long-lasting battery life makes it a practical solution for everyday use. Despite a few small inconveniences, it has certainly reduced my stress when searching for lost items. If youโre looking for an effective way to keep track of your essentials, this key finder is definitely worth checking out.

We need Dragonzord power now!
Sorry my inner Gen-X is showing. But honestly that is sort of the same premise of this gadget. A double-click on one finder plays a magic tune, and the other finder responds (just like Green Ranger summoning his Dragonzord with the Power Rangers flute). I guess its sort of related to the old Clapper (again, Gen-X) where you clap your hands to produce a sound and a light goes on - same vibe. Personally I refuse to use Bluetooth finders, because I've had my phone battery die in mere hours with Bluetooth perpetually on. And the RF finders I believe have lower effective range, although you can make the argument that since this is sound-based, in a noisy outdoor environment, or city street, it may not be able to "hear" the tune. But I love this. I made a shortcut on my cell phone for the KeyRinger webpage that has the "Call All KeyRingers" button so even if I lost both items with finders - I could just play the magic tune and they both start responding, and it really works! The sound does get increasingly loud. Yes I guess it could hurt your hearing if not turned off. It scares me a little bit that to deactivate the sound you have to successfully locate the loud one and press it. Imagine if it falls behind a fence or behind a heavy stove and you can't easily get to it. Then you're stuck with it ringing for 15 seconds. But if the point is to hear a loud sound to find an item, clearly this is mission accomplished. I really like this gadget, its a refreshing change from the Bluetooth, RF, and GPS SIM card type finders and trackers that is a welcome one. Its unique and straightforward technology that really works well provided your home or environment is quiet enough for the audible activation to work. I would probably want one even if I didn't need to find things (though I'm forgetful and do) just on the scientific premise alone - its just that cool.

quality construction, nice loud activation, when needed.
I hate key finders that don't make loud noises. If you cant hear it, what is the point??? I had one you could barely hear it two yards away. Then I got another one that worked great for about 6 months, then quit on me. So far this one is LOUD, and seems to be much more sturdily constructed. Like the set up, also of not having a separate base station for the units. Each unit is serves as a base station to activate the other finder. Very cool. If I have problems prematurely, I will update this review. For now, I love it. UPDATE 09 Sept 2017. So I left my keys outside in the pouring rain. The key finder was under an inch of water. I thought, oh great I've ruined it. But I took the battery out and used a hair dryer to try and dry it out as best I could. Still didn't work, so I just put it to the side and said I would order another pair when I got around to it. Then I decided to test it just on a whim a day or so later. It has come back to life and is working fine now. Outstanding!!! Edit 07 nov 2019.: the units i have bought are still going strong. I have had to change the batteries and it was a pain in the rear, but a small price to pay, for a quality product. I cant begin to say how much time these things have saved me overall. Still giving it five stars, despite the changing battery issues.

Battery life, etc ruins my product rating
I've bought this product 4 times because it works so well. I've bought the finders for my mother and sister, both of whom have a lot of trouble keeping track of things. These are connected to their cell phone cases and their keys; if either gets misplaced, locating the other is a piece of cake. BUT... when the battery dies on one of the finders, it's a BIG problem. It's VERY difficult to get into the battery compartment. One battery lasted so long, that I didn't mind too much paying for another set to replace them. But when the finder I bought last December stopped working, I was determined to replace the battery instead of buying another one. (I can't find the seller's contact info or I'd be calling them directly). I was finally able to get it open, with the help of my husband (he used a tiny screw to depress the buttons while I pulled the cover off). Then I replaced the battery, only to have it still not work. I would definitely like a replacement for the defective item. These things are not cheap.

This Is The One To Get
The short version, if you're looking for something that will help you find your keys, stop looking and get this. I bought this long ago, never wrote the review. I've looked at many others, had a couple others, mediocre at best. The KeyRinger isn't fancy, it doesn't display anything, it just finds your keys because it is LOUD. Not only is it LOUD, it flashes the little red light, which even in the daytime can be seen. The latest situation was my keys (for a different car) fell between the seats. I went to drive the other car, and had no keys. I took the KeyRinger for the first car, clicked the button, and waited. They say I don't hear the best, but I immediately could hear the other one. It took two tries, but I found it, with the help of the little flashing red light. I've got four of them, I'm really wanting more because my wife and daughter have keys too, but of course they don't lose them like I do (LOL). But having the KeyRinger, it is guaranteed you won't lose your keys. The only potential problem is if you let the battery run down, but I've had mine several years and it is still going strong. I'll probably be replacing it at some point soon though, as I use them often. (Other key finders are so ridiculous that you can't even change the battery!)

Almost a great product (update: it actually is a great product!)
I bought a pair of these since my wife has a habit of misplacing her keys. The product is quite effective for locating them when she can't. It's almost a great product. We've been toting them around for several months now. My one complaint is that it is too easy to set it beeping while in my pocket, not a good thing when you are in a meeting. If you don't carry your keys in your pockets that wouldn't be a problem, although my wife has managed to inadvertently set hers off inside her purse. It would be a better design if the push button that causes this was another kind of switch. All in all it is a well made and effective product, but I'm demoting it to 4 stars for having the problem noted. Update: I was contacted by the company after posting this review. It turned out my false alarms were being caused by a factory setting, where you are given 1 second to do the double click that activates the beep which signals the device is going into search mode. Lo and behold, you can change that (and quite a few other settings) through the company's website. They even walked me through the process to verify a successful change to a double click interval of 1/10th second, which I'm very unlikely to trigger by bumping my pocket. That fully addresses my complaint so I've raised my rating to 5 stars. Pretty impressive capabilities for this kind of device, all in all, and great customer service. Through the web site you can actually set up multiple combinations of device behavior if you opt have need for more than two.
