Yamaha Trombone Slide Lubricant, 30ml

Semi-professional trombone player here, this stuff is goated. It’s ubiquitous at music universities, at least where I’m from, and it’ll work great on 99% of horns you use it on. Could you do better than this? Probably. Personally, I prefer to use slide cream right after I clean my horn and then switch to Yamaha oil until I clean it again, but if you only use this you’ll be in great shape. Make sure to shake it well every time you use it, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU FIRST USE IT. If you don’t mix it you will use up all the lubricant in your first two applications and have funny colored water for the rest of the bottle. Also avoid leaving it in a hot car, the emulsion will break if it gets hot and then it’s much worse at its job. If that happens, put it in the fridge, shake it a lot, and pray it works. With all that in mind, I will be buying this until they stop making it. 10/10

This Trombone slide cream is literally magical! I previously had a somewhat good-dented slide that you could totally hear the scratching. But as soon as i put a few drops on each slide……oh boy…..HEAVENLY, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ON ANY OTHER SLIDE CREAMS

Excellent Trombone Hand slide lubricant. Easy to apply and use. Less is more. A medium-ish drop on the runners at the end of each inner slide tubes is usually plenty. Put the outer slide back on and move it up and down on the inner slide to spread the lubricant across the runners. The runners are a term for the wider tubes at the very end of the inner slide. Spray a little water on the lubricant on the runners. The lubricant makes the water bead up into little balls so the outer slide rolls on tiny balls of water. When your slide starts to get dirty enough, wipe both the inner and outer slide tubes clean to regain the speed and smooth motion on the hand slide.

Amazing product! I've used various other slides lubrication products(oil, grease, and slide o mix) and this one is my favorite. When did the price go up so drastically though?!?!? This product used to be in the ballpark of 5-8$ and now it's 13$ out of nowhere. This review would've been 5 stars if not for the drastic price increase. Great job on the product, but c'mon... Almost double the price! Not cool

This is the best slide lubricant I’ve used so far.

Great product, keeps the slide nice and smooth. I would recommend getting a small spray bottle and spraying a little bit of water on the slide when using the oil as to make it last longer.
