This is such an interesting tool! I've always had a hard time trying to work my way around a curling iron, but this automatic curling iron makes it simple. I think that you must read the directions - don't skip this. I didn't at first, as it seemed straightforward. Bad idea! The biggest piece of advice is - hold down the curler for left or right and DO NOT RELEASE THE BUTTON UNTIL IT STOPS TURNING. If you release the button early, the timer will not run. I really like the adjustable temperature settings, and it has a tangle alert. It will release if it thinks your hair is tangled. Unfortunately, I have very long, thick hair and I had trouble getting it to consistently curl my hair. I kept getting a tangle alert time after time. For a successful curl you have to use a small amount of hair, which was tricky for me. I also tried to start my curls further down, but this seems to require more practice and maybe a tight pull to keep the curler from rotating the hair higher up. It works well for the right type of hair and produces nice curls! Just be patient and know if your hair is thick you will need even more patience. I've added one picture of fresh out of the iron curls and one of the same curls brushed though.

This automatic hair curler is decent once you get the hang of it, but it does have a bit of a learning curve. The design can be a little confusing at first, and the instructions aren’t very clear, so it might take some trial and error to figure out exactly how to use it. I wish the instructions are clearer. If you do get used to it, the curler can produce classic, clean curls that look really polished. One limitation is that it’s a bit tricky to curl the hair right at the top of the scalp, so the curls usually start a little lower down on the hair. This might be more noticeable for those with longer or thicker hair, where handling sections can be a bit harder. Overall, it’s not perfect, but once you understand how it works, it’s a decent tool for creating nice, defined curls.

I never would have dreamed it possible, but this curling iron is amazingly easy to use. I have never been able to get the hang of using a normal curling iron because I’m not able to switch to my left hand and cannot do both sides of my hair with my right hand. It has always been awkward. I am over 60 and the only thing I’ve been able to use is a straightening iron. I’m not even able to style my hair with a blow dryer and brush. I can only dry it, but not style it with one. So along came this automatic curling iron. The instruction manual is very easy to read and understand. I simply did what it said to do, holding the front of the styler towards my head, which means the opening is facing away. I lowered small sections into the opening and pushed the forward button, which is the reverse on each side. I also held the curling iron with my right hand while doing my left side and with my left hand while doing my right side. That way I was able to easily push the button facing forward on each side with the thumb of the hand holding the styler, if that makes sense. I was not able to do my right side by holding the styler with my right hand because everything felt backwards and I couldn’t do it in reverse. The trick for me was switching hands between sides. I used the third setting, which is for normal hair. My hair has gone gray, but the texture is still mostly normal. I used the default temperature and time. When I finished, I asked my husband if I looked age inappropriate. He said, no, that it looked great, that I looked just like a teenager. Well hardly because we met when I was a teenager and my hair has gone gray. Mainly, I was impressed that I was able to do my entire head in a short amount of time the first time I tried. There were no fails around my entire head. I feel like this styler is perfectly safe with no risk of burning, damaging, or tangling my hair. My hair was able to be slipped out very easily after each double beep. It was actually fun to use the styler because it was so easy. I highly recommend it. It is worth the current asking price of only $36 with the coupon. Even the regular price of $40 is a great value for an item like this that works so well and is so incredibly easy to use.
