This rod is well made for easy installation on a closet system! The brackets are adjustable to any width by loosening the set screws. I installed the buttons on the cubby, removed the brackets from the rod to install them to the buttons then reinstalled the rod locking all set screws down. It includes wall anchors for those without a closet system. The rod functioned exactly as I had hoped! It pulls out to hold my outfit of the day and will collapse out of the way when not needed! A couple of items to watch for. The center rod needs to be removed from the outer pipe to install the black stop washer and screw, then it is fed back in from the end without the white bushing, the pull knob must be removed for reinstallation. My pull knob was loose from the inner pipe when it arrived and the threaded stud had fallen into the pipe. I had to get the threaded stud out to be able to reinstall it. I added photos of the parts for easier understanding, I like pictures.

If you have an IKEA storage system I do not recommend. The distance between screws do not match IKEA PAX storage system. Price was great in comparison with others.

Product is fine, but installation is a pain! Everything was fine until I tried to tighten the screw that holds the bar onto the mounting brackets..the *microscopic* screw. Luckily the bag included two extra screws (which are currently residing somewhere in the back of my closet.) After I lost the first one, I decided to turn the sliding pieces upside down so the screw holes are on the top. After I lost the second one I got the idea to put them in the hole with one turn and then attach the bar to the wall, then screwing them in completely. Once installed it works great!

I have the tiniest 1960s closet with zero space to hang anything while getting dressed or steaming clothes. Enter this little valet rod — I didn’t even know this was a thing, and now I’m wondering where it’s been all my life! I mounted it to the inside of my closet door, and it’s perfect. Now I finally have a spot to hang outfits or freshly steamed clothes without juggling hangers and doorknobs. Total game changer for small spaces!

I wanted to love this valet rod, but it fell short — literally. While the idea is great and the design looks clean, the functionality just isn’t there. The biggest issue is with the extension mechanism (or lack thereof). There’s no secure connection between the two parts of the rod when pulling it out, so if you extend it too far, it separates. This makes it unreliable, especially if you’re expecting to hang heavier clothing items or use it frequently. Installation was simple and the gliding motion is smooth to a point, but the rod’s instability really limits its usefulness. It might work for very light-duty use, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a sturdy, dependable addition to your closet. A better locking or support mechanism would make a big difference here. Until then, it's more frustrating than functional.

Good product in concept. I was looking for something to hang in my laundry room to steam clothes with my hand steamer. This works well. Easy to install by drilling it into the side of my cabinet. Was able to adjust it so that it fit on my upper cabinets. Not very noticeable when pushed in. decent for the price. Looks decent installed. And fits in with the decor of my laundry room nicely.

You know how you can see something that you didn’t know you needed, and once you get it, you don’t know what you did without it? Well, this is one of those things! I have a small walk-in closet that is stuffed to the gills. I never had a place to hang things as I was putting together an outfit or bringing clean clothes to organize with all my clothes. This works great. I have a shelf unit in the closet that I attached it to in the pre drilled holes. Installation was easy peasy and extra screws were included in case you lost one (which I did ;-) ). It seems sturdy and is well made. Perfect addition to my closet.

IBURTEN Ultimate Valet Rod for Closet, Pull Out, 12" Retractable, Chrome (ASIN : B0DT6CWY9P) This rod has been pretty frustrating. First, the internal stop wasn't installed. When I pulled on the rod, it completely came out of the base, as did the loose stop washer and screw. There were no instructions about this, so I think this was a factory mistake. It took me a while to figure out how it was supposed to work. I had to take out a plastic piece in the base - which wasn't easy, and I broke a nail! Once I got everything re-assembled, I was ready to install it in my existing closet system. Except it doesn't fit. I have different hole widths in different sections of my closet system, and this doesn't fit any of them. I'm going to have to drill a hole, and use an existing hole. I haven't decided on the location yet, but the rest of the installation should be straightforward.
