Great press, lightweight and very easy to use
I purchased this 8-inch IMUSA tortilla press and it has been a wonderful addition to my kitchen. Since it is made of aluminum, it is much lighter and easier to handle than traditional cast-iron presses, but it does the job perfectly without requiring too much physical effort. The lever distributes pressure evenly, making it quick and easy to get flatbreads and tortillas with the ideal thickness. Plus, the 8-inch size is perfect and very versatile for everyday home use.A helpful tip: I highly recommend using two pieces of plastic (like a cut-up plastic bag or wax paper) when placing the dough to keep it from sticking to the bare aluminum. This way, the tortillas come out perfectly and cleanup is instant.Highly recommended for its excellent value for the money!

SIMPLIFY W/ THIS TORTILLA PRESS WITHOUT THE MESS
So I just got this product because I've been seeing my son-in-law use it for about 4 years now and when I was little my mom had us make it tortillas every weekend she had 14 kids so making tortillas for 16 people for the week meant we had to knead a lot of dough might be one of the reasons I have arthritis in my fingers anyways with that being said I never even tried this press all the times I've seen my son-in-law making empanadas and tortillas I never asked him could I see if I can press that but since Amazon offers free shipping and free returns I thought when I get back home I'm going to get me one of those worst case scenario I hurt myself trying to press it on the contrary this thing is so simple you can let anyone use it from the youngest person in your kitchen to the oldest person with arthritis I have degenerated joints as well as arthritis in all of my fingers and wrists the worst part about making tortillas for me is all of the needing and the rolling of the rolling pin again this was so simple and if you parchment paper it makes simple even simpler because now you don't have no mess nothing to clean up even though I wipe down my product before I put it away it needed no wiping it gives you full instructions which I didn't need to look at it was kind of common sense because I used masa some warm water and I put seasonings that I liked in it I used turmeric and black pepper and almost everything that I cook so I put that in there with some salt and pepper garlic and onion powder and Bam I had this tasty tortilla for my chorizo and eggs now I like my tortillas very flat I prefer them flat as a spring roll wrap you're not going to get it that flat but after I pressed it pressed it between the palms of my hands to get slightly thinner and with my last one I didn't do that just to see if I would like it and not only did I like it I loved it especially cuz I had all that flavor in there I would say if you want to save some money on buying dozens and dozens of tortillas you want to get this for me I am the only one in my household who needs a tears I bought it because when I run out I don't like to run out to the store to buy more tortillas but I'm not a bread eater so many times I won't eat if I don't have tortillas when I need them for my food and I need them everyday now me I have tasted tortillas at my son-in-law's house that were sitting in the refrigerator overnight and I personally rather have mine's fresh so I will definitely be using this pretty much every day I'm sure because I eat tortillas if not for breakfast then for dinner I can't speak on the quality right now it seems like it will last a while long as my husband don't touch it never even touch my son-in-law so I didn't know this was metal I thought it was plastic because it looks plastic but I have the gray cast aluminum 8" one like he does because the black one cost like three times more🌮💝🌮

Like others have said, it's pretty low quality, and produces too thick of tortillas. 4/5 because you have to expect what you're getting in terms of quality when it's a low priced item, I was not expecting this to be an amazing press, but it did get the job done. Also, being cast aluminum it's going to be a lightweight product, so people mentioning bending, I'm not quite sure what you expected. It was a good starter press as we didn't want to spend a lot and end up not liking the tortillas we made. They turned out great, and now we need to buy a quality cast iron or wood press.

Works Wel
I purchased this press to make smash burgers and it makes them well. I put an 8"d parchment paper on the bottom press plate, put a 2oz ball of 80/20 on the parchment, then another parchment on top of the ball. Squish the ball till it's 1/8" thick. Get 8 patties out of 1 lb of 80/20. Then I put the stacked parchments in a zip lock then into the freezer for an hour or so. I heat the frying pan to medium high, pull the parchment off one side of a frozen patty, slap it down into the pan and peel the 2nd parchment off. Because the patties are so thin they can be flipped in about 1 to 1-1/2 mins, then put the cheese on and cook for another 1 to 1-1/2 mins. I have not used this press for tortillas yet but after seeing it's performance with 80/20 I believe it will work well for flour and water. You can get the 8" parchments here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GQZ8Y6F?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Having said all of that, there is a minor issue. There are 2 points on the handle and the top press plate where intense pressure and friction occur. The whole press is painted with a thick light gray paint. Where the handle and top press plate meet the paint will quickly wear off and could possibly get in your food. I used a rotary tool with a sanding sleeve and removed all of the paint in those areas. I don't expect that to be a problem any more.

Buyer Beware of this Tortilla Press: It's low quality, breaks easily, and cannot be returned.
I have had positive experiences with IMUSA products in the past. However, this tortilla press is extremely low quality. I bought it in January and have used it no more than five times, as I don’t make tortillas regularly. As you can see from the picture, it broke in half this morning. Other reviewers have also shown a similar break on their tortilla presses. This tortilla press should be redesigned before its sold to other customers. Steer clear from this particular tortilla press as you won't be able to return it and will have wasted your money.

Works well, handle connector likely not made to last
I had ordered this item a while ago and just made tortillas for the first time last week with this press. I have to say it worked very well, made perfect, round corn tortillas that were absolutely evenly thick. So why the three star rating? The connector piece that holds the handle and connects to the pressing platform appears super cheap and skimpy. I actually didn’t trust it to last thru me making my 20 tortillas. It did, yet I am fully prepared to not last long. I had been on the fence of sending it back when I received the tortilla press but decided to keep it since I won’t be making a ton of tortillas. But… if you plan to use it often, if you plan to make a ton of tortillas for a party… I think I’d recommend a more sturdy, more expensive press. A great recipe for corn tortillas is the following: 2 cups masa harina (I love the MaSeCa brand) 1.5 cups very warm water 1 ts salt. Mix with a fork until ingredients come together, then use your hand. The consistency should be very smooth and no dough should stick to the bowl. If it’s too dry increase the water a little at a time. If the dough is too sticky just add more masa. Use immediately. I actually measure out my dough to about 1.5oz each, roll them all into balls and cover with a moist towel or plastic wrap over the top. Use parchment paper on the tortilla press. I prefer pre cut parchment paper that is made for cookie sheets. I cut this in half width wise and it fits perfectly for the tortilla press. Place the parchment half on the press, set the dough ball on top, cover with the other half and press. You can vary the thickness slightly. The harder you press the thinner the tortilla will become. Of course you don’t want them too thin. Do not unwrap the tortilla until ready to cook. I usually make all my tortillas first and set them all on top of each other still wrapped in parchment. Then I heat my griddle or cast iron pan, unwrap the ones I am using and cook one to three at a time depending on pan size. I do not use oil, just heat my tortillas flipping over every 30 seconds until the bubble up, the keep them warm in an over covered with aluminum foil until ready to use.

Great Tortilla Press!
I purchased this tortilla press a year ago and have used it on a weekly basis ever since. I am on AIP so I use this to make tortillas from cassava flour. This is my only source of “bread” for wraps, toast, and sandwiches. I purchased this one specifically because I wanted something light weight that I could easily use everyday. I didn’t want the dread of lugging out a heavy cast iron tortilla press. This press is light weight. It’s super easy to clean if you use parchment paper. I bought like a 200 pack of 8 inch round parchment paper. I only need to use two pieces of the paper for each batch. The tortillas come out perfect every time. It’s so easy to use, and tucks away in my cabinet over the stove for easy access. I never experienced paint chips in the year of having it. I rarely wash it since I line it with parchment paper. I’ve never put it in the dishwasher. Not that I can remember. That could be why it’s stayed so well, and no paint chips. Overall it seems really well made. The press shows no sign of wear, even though I’ve used it consistently for the past year. I was rolling out my tortillas before purchasing this press. It definitely saves a lot of time, and makes perfectly shaped tortillas. I also purchased this at a great price. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money because I wasn’t sure how often I would use it. Now that I am a tortilla making fool, I went onto Amazon to see if might be missing out on a better tortilla press. I am happy to conclude, There isn’t a better press than this one for me. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that I wish it was bigger so I could make larger wraps, but that has more to do with my appetite than the press itself. Enjoy!

Found it too lightweight
Compared with my previous wrought iron tortilla press this was too lightweight and not as capable of getting a good press and nice thin tortilla as I'm used to.

Bom equipamento
Ajuda a abrir a massa dos pães, só precisa de pegar o jeito. Se quiser pães mais finos precisa terminar de abrir a massa no rolo, mesmo assim adianta bastante o processo.

May not be the best for chapatis
We used it for making chapatis but they ended up being too thick. Thicker chapatis work for us so not a big deal. However, it may work well for tortillas.
