Bought as a replacement for broken waste. Easy to fit - just follow the instructions. And ensure you remove ALL old sealant before starting. After reading other reviews I decided to use plumbers tape to ensure no leaks, but that might not have been necessary. Works well (no leaks!), looks good. Good value.

I had to undo an elbow on my sink and accidentally dislodged existing waste which was fitted with plumbers gunk and silicone. So that started leaking and I had get rid of that. Picked this up as the only thing I could find next day that fitted my requirements - had to be click waste with overflow and no plastic anywhere. This thing is chrome coated brass, silicone seals, easy to undo top clicker to clean the waste. It can be easily fitted with no plumber’s tools as no gunk or silicone is needed. It also means you can remove it and clean it after a year or two and just refit it with no drama. Seals seem decent. The bottom seal actually has thread to stop water flowing down the core so pay attention to make sure it is properly in threads when you fit it. On the first fitting mine did seep water through threads. I refitted with some plumbers tape on the thread and it is fine now. Will see how well chrome finish lasts, but general design and construction seem good. For emergency replacement I couldn’t be happier.

I have installed a couple of these as replacements and found them to be quite straight forward to install and of good quality. I did encounter an issue though. I noticed a small amount of water was escaping down the threads and through the lock nut, despite all the seals been in place and fitting properly. Not wanting to use any sealant, I eventually figured out that using PTFE tape to seal around the threads (probably 15-20 turns) then tightening up the lock nut fixed the issue perfectly.

I’d never fitted one of these. I had some difficulty but only because I was dealing with a pedestal basin and the plumbing was so hard to access that I had to work ‘blind’ after watching YouTube videos on how to do this job. Fitting this sink fitting was the easy part. I used Plumber’s Mate sticky goo to seal it in line with the video and it worked well but I will try something less sticky next time. This new pop up plug unit looks really great and I’m very pleased and happy to recommend it.

Nice design, good quality, easy installation (no silicone required). But, the bottom part (which goes into the basin) is so sharp. I got multiple cuts while installing the first one. And used gloves for the second installation.

Nachdem ich mir eine neuen Armatur fürs Waschbecken zugelegt hatte, musste ich feststellen, dass ich auf ein Detail dabei nicht geachtet hatte, nämlich das die neue Armatur keinen Hebel auf der Rückseite besitzt, um den Waschbecken-Verschluss damit auf und zu machen zu können (wie immer man das jetzt korrekt nennt), also musste schnellstens ein neuer Verschluss her, und da bot sich natürlich so ein Pop-Up Verschluss an... Diese Pop-Up Verschlüsse haben den Vorteil, dass sie zum einen unabhängig von der verwendeten Armatur sind und zum anderen -bei diesem Exemplar zumindest- der vorhandene Auslauf des Waschbecken schön von dem entsprechend größeren Stöpsel verdeckt wird, was eine sehr schöne und gefällige Optik ergibt. Insgesamt ist dieser Verschluss sauber verarbeitet und kommt -gut verpackt- ohne irgendwelche Kratzer daher, was in dieser Preisklasse nicht immer der Fall ist! Nach der schnellen und einfachen Montage dann die erste Enttäuschung: unterhalb des Waschbeckens kommt irgendwo noch zwischen Waschbecken und Abfluss noch Wasser durch, d.h. irgendwo ist noch etwas undicht. Auch nach längerer Suche konnte ich die Ursache nicht wirklich finden, aber mit ausreichendem Anziehen der Verschraubung konnte ich das Ganze zumindest auf ein Minimum reduzieren... ich vermute, dass der Dichtungsring etwas unterdimensioniert ist, zumal hier in einigen Bewertungen von diesem Problem zu lesen ist. Ich habe dann noch über mehrere Wochen einen kleinen Auffangbehälter darunter positioniert und in diesen ein saugfähiges Schwammtuch gegeben, um die letzte Restmenge austretenden Wassers aufzufangen. Inzwischen ist das Ganze aber irgendwie von selbst dicht, sodass ich den Auffangbehälter nur vorsichtshalber noch ein wenig drunter stehen lasse, aber wenn das Schwammtuch auch in den kommenden Wochen noch trocken ist, dann kann der Behälter weg. Da ich keine halben Sterne vergaben kann, werde ich für die anfängliche leichte Undichte keinen ganzen Stern abziehen, denn das wäre allein schon aufgrund des sehr guten Preises und der sonstigen sehr guten Verarbeitung unfair, von daher 5 Sterne mit einem kleinen Minus im Hinterkopf... ;-)
