Something wrong-made dogs SICK!
Something is wrong with these treats! The last batch we received from our April 2020 subscription made all 3 of our little ones very sick! Both the peanut butter apple and peanut butter berry variety gave them terrible diarrhea and vomiting. We are positive it is from the treats as nothing has changed in their diets, they do not go around other dogs, they receive only their regular food, medications and these occasional treats (no 'table scraps'), they never go outside without supervision (so there is nowhere for them to get into anything), and I work from home so I am very fortunate to always be with them (we also have cameras everywhere so are able to see what they're doing at anytime). When they started getting sick (it was after we had started the new bags of treats). As a rule, when someone gets sick, we stop giving treats and only allow their regular food and medication (and of course anything else our vet recommends)-and we did this in this case.Once all 3 finally were over their course of medications from the awful GI distress and were back to 100%, a few days later, we slowly started giving a treat here and there (at that point we did not know the tummy issues were from these treats). Of course, the diarrhea and GI discomfort started right away again in the 2 little ones that had been given the treats. This has been a terrible experience for our babies that did not deserve this (who already have special needs). Our pups have been eating these same Zukes treats for years because they have ingredients that are low calorie and gentle for little bellies. THESE treats are NOT the same Zukes treats that we've bought hundreds of times. This batch really needs to be thrown out before more dogs end up sick or worse! This is beyond unacceptable! We will NEVER buy Zukes ever again-there's no way we're going to risk this happening again!

Non-food (wood type) objects in treats
Our dog likes these treats, but I cannot take chances with safety of feeding them. Found ground up wood sticks in 4 - 5 treats in one bag of these. The batch (lot) number is 10-1256-4.Found wood objects in a bag of these treats in July 2018, but threw out what I had left, and recently ordered two more bags that I thought would be clear by now. I think these should be recalled. Sharp wood objects embedded in these could cause serious harm, or death to a dog. Will be returning what I have left of the two bags ordered.

Smells like bananas! I threw them out.
Zipped the bag open and was hit in the face with this overwhelming banana scent...so, I sampled one....tasted like cardboard; not even a hint of banana or peanut butter. Now, I get that dogs sense of taste and smell is like a gazillion times more sensitive than ours, so it probably doesn't take a whole bunch of strong flavors to make them crazy happy. What struck me then was, why did they have to infuse this product with such an overpowering (and certainly all artificial/chemical) scent? .....Not for the dogs sake certainly. Just because the dog will eat it is not a high enough standard for me.... For me, this has the opposite of it's intended effect. It's fake. It's not genuine ...and if Zukes is willing to do that, what other junk will they put in there for my dog to eat? I threw them away and will never buy this brand again.

Strong smell of banana
I used to really trust the Zukes brand of pet treats, because they were made where I live in Durango. Now that company has been sold, I’ve noticed a sharp decrease in the quality of the products and a sharp increase in the price. I bought these peanut butter and banana treats and when I opened the bag, there was a extreme smell of banana that was totally unnatural. It was actually nauseating and still is after the bag has been opened many times. The pieces are very hard and have a line in the center to break them in half, but they don’t split easily by hand. I have had to use a pill splitter. I am concerned that the strong smell might indicate that the banana is just a chemical additive and too much added at that. I keep giving Zukes the benefit of the doubt, but I won’t be buying these treats again.

My dog loves them, but no stinky meat smell
Most of the treats my dog loves have a strong odor. I like that I can't smell this one (even the smell of bacon gets tiresome after a while!). But my dog must smell something, because she is every bit as excited about these as the stinky ones. I was worried that they'd be prone to crumbling because they are crunchy. But - I've carried them around by the handful in my pockets and they're no more crumbly than the soft treats.

More for small or miniature dogs
I buy a lot of Zuke's products and I bought these thinking I would put them in our lab's treat ball. They are WAY too small for that! When I opened the bag up, I was surprised at how small they were. They aren't much bigger than pieces of rice. This was my fault for not reading the description closely enough and I passed them on to my sister for her toy poodle. I'm always happy with Zuke's quality of products.

small, but not that small
I just wanted to weigh in with a photo. Other people's reviews made me wonder if these treats would be so small that I wouldn't be able to pick them up with my fat fingers! The treats are totally fine. Great for training when you want to reward frequently. My dog likes them. (The lighting in the photo is odd - they're more of a cream color than brown)

Great quality natural treat, perfect for training OR medication administrations!
Funny story, we have 3 rescue dogs and they have 4 eyes collectively. Two have only 1 eye each, and the only dog with 2 eyes has KCS (dry eye) and typically has 2-5 eye medications needed twice each day. Being that she is also a small Pomeranian/Papillon mix, I needed to find a small but tasty treat to give her after each eye medication administration. So glad I found these a few years ago as they fit the bill perfectly!! Not only does she love the taste, they're only 2 calories each, and smell great to me too (vanilla flavor). Love these!

not sure about this brand
My dogs seemed to like these, however one did get sick after eating a few. Ingredient mixed tocopherols is what is added and is not good for dogs. will not buy again.as far as the seller the item was as pictured, I just should have read the ingredients more carefully

We love Zuke's Crunchy Naturals!
My dog loves these treats. I love that they are dry and not messy, as I use them for training so constantly handling them wherever we go. I love that Zuke's offers vegetarian options - great for me, that is, because I don't have to be handling meaty treats!
