Seems to be sturdy
Screws had some kind of glue on them (not lock tight) like from hot glue gun. Took some work to clean them up. Using on 700 ADL with VX-F 3x9-40 low rings

OUTSTANDING BASES/RINGS (1” EXTENDED HIGH)
Have Talley unitized bases/rings on many guns and without a doubt some of the best bases/rings out there. Unfortunately I have to send these back. Nothing wrong with them...unbeknownst to me, my son had already purchased this set for a 4-12x50 AO Vortex Crossfire II scope for his 700 BDL .30-06. No sense in them sitting around collecting dust so they’ll go back.A little FYI...I remember a question a while back about whether this ring/base setup would work on a Weatherby Vanguard. I can attest that they will absolutely work on a Weatherby Vanguard S2 model. The screw mount pattern is exactly the same for the front and rear. The front fits perfect just like the front base/ring specifically designed for Weatherby Vanguard S2’s (I think they’re exactly the same). The rear base length is a little longer in this model than the Vanguard S2 specific model...so the rear base extends over the rear machined vertical face of the bolt area opening of the receiver by about an 1/8“. It doesn’t affect any bolt travel nor any case ejection. It simply becomes a cosmetic/aesthetic issue at that point, if you had to use these on a Vanguard S2. As far as fitting other Weatherby models, just not positively sure. Of course Talley makes specific setups for all Weatherby models so it would be a no-brainer to just order those in the specific scope diameter and height needed. Just thought I’d throw this little info in here.As far as longevity, holding zero after who knows how many hundreds of rounds through many bolt-actions in several calibers...I’ve never had a single issue with any Talley lightweight/unitized setups and will continue to only buy Talley bases/rings for future bolt-actions. Semper Fi!

Great Ring/base set
Good looking, nice milling and fit my 700 perfect.Held in my Talley rings is a Bushell Scope with a 44mm objective (end of scope opposite the end you look through)It sits close to the top of the riffle, but not so close as to affect the loading of ammo or ejecting the spent rounds. My hands are big, so I have to be careful running the bolt, if I just grab and go I will hit the the bell of the eye piece on the scope. A little practice with a new grip on the bolt and running the bolt will not be an issue.

Good rings
Mounted on a B 14 HMR with a vortex Diamondback 4x16x44 scope. Great rings for the price.

Scopes should all be this lucky...
Preface:I have used Talley products in the military, as a private purchase, and now in boring civilian life too...The DOD has a habit of going with the lowest bidder, and I don't like that, so I improved on their choices while I was serving as a SOF Combat Weather operator.FIT:PERFECT. Bolted right onto my new Remington 700 SPS Tactical (308 WIN) and I had my new scope mounted in minutes. No changes necessary.FINISH:Talley is known for their reliability, and this product looks the part too!Great surface brushing, not too dull and dead, but not "shoot at me" shiny either.QUALITY:It's a Talley product, and I have used them for years, both in the military and (now) out.I'm confident that this hunting season in WV will prove me right again!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FROM A LIFELONG SHOOTER!!!

Excellent Scope Rings
I have a Remington 700ADL in .300 Win Mag on which I wanted to mount a Simmons Predator 4.5 - 18 x 44 scope. The scope has a 30mm main tube is fairly heavy. I wanted a set of mounts that were rigid, nice looking on the black rifle, and which were open over the ejection port. These Talley mounts are perfect for this use. Since they are a two piece set that are both rings and mounts, they are quite sturdy. They have 4 screws that close each ring, which is an improvement over the similar Remington mounts which only have 2. They look good, having a similar finish as the scope and blending quite well with the rifle. I'd buy them again.
