Bog standard novelty dexterity game
Literally no skill to this one...Novelty wears off after a few plays but at £4 it keeps kids occupied for an hour or so.

Much enjoyed by seven-year-old
This went down very well with my seven-year-old great-nephew.

Kids love it

Not keen
I’m not mad keen on this game. Lots of plastic, rather tacky. There is no skill involved - just sheer luck, and my children’s interest was lost very quickly.

The Jump
I remember when a boardgame came with a board and some dice. Now it seems that the boxes contain event gaming as you all gather around for some novelty fun. Drumond Park's 'Super Ski Jump' is in keeping with this new mentality and places a snow based twist on a theme that is normally left for the gymnasium. The first thing you notice about 'Ski Jump' is it feels like one of those games that are cheaper to buy as you have to assemble the thing yourself. I am not against a few clicks and clunks to get a game up and running, but this is almost flat pack in nature from the building of the course itself to attaching all the stickers. To get the game looking decent it takes a while and that is not always an ideal situation for a gift that you want to play immediately.Once you have put the time in to get the game going, the actually activity is fun, if a little short lived. You set the characters off from the top and then must tap a button to fling them at the end. You gain points for various things like twists, clean landing and distance. Top up the scores after several runs and you have a winner. In trying to mimic the scores of real sky jumping this game is at least a little noble, but it does not really feel that fun or competitive. Most families will just play a few rounds for fun and not bother with any rules. This is well enough, but does not really make for a long lasting experience. The ephemeral nature of the game is not helped by being pretty plastic in nature and not that sturdy. A decent enough blast of fun, but a traditional boardgame still has more nuance and replay value.
