The Nat Americans loved goldenseal. I first learned about it when a spiritual teacher used it to pack a gash on her forehead with a paste of goldenseal. There were no scars! The taste is bitter. It stains if you take it out of the capsule. Nevertheless this is a miracle herb. I take it at the first sign of a sniffle or cough. Nature's Way is one of the highest quality product lines Definitely something to have in your holistic first aid kit.

A good herb for natural cleansing especially when taking with green tea

I have taken Natures Way Goldenseal for over 35 years. I am allergic to penicillin and since grade school suffered from respiratory infections and strep throat. Have tried different brands of goldenseal and the are not all created equal. This brand works so well that when my son was 3 years old he would ask me for goldenseal because it would eliminate his sore throat. He is now in his 30’s and still request this herbal remedy. Note, there is goldenseal herb and goldenseal “root”. I only buy the root because the herb takes too long to work. Also, not something you should or need to take for an extended period. Just like prescription medication overuse will build up an immunity to the herb. I rarely need it but keep it on hand as the shelf life is typically 2 years.

I am pleased with the results of this product. We have used it to pack wounds on people and pets and not once has one of these become infected. After being attacked by by a 130lb Police K9 during an examination I resorted to Goldenseal instead of the ER. In our state, a dog would be euthanized for delivering a bite of this nature so I spared him the death sentence and treated the wound discretely at home. I used the contents of one capsule to pack the 2cm deep puncture wound and rubbed some of the powder into other punctures which were less deep the covered with bandaging. I also ingested 2 capsules 3x day for 5 days and there was no sign of infection. The wound healed with minimal scarring so I am pleased with the results. I'm a fan of Nature's Way Goldenseal Root capsules and always have them in my cabinet.

Golden Seal cured me from getting Strep Throat every September! It's known to be the Herb Kingdom's anti- biotic! People with high blood pressure should be cautious, because it can raise it. I use this root to fight sinus infections, too. I take 1 capsule 3X's per day for 2 weeks. Give it a rest after that, because it gives your kidneys a little work out. This natural remedy works wonders on yeast infections & heals just about anything! Just drink plenty of water with it & respect its great powers! Good stuff!
