'How To Rewire Vintage Sewing Machines' is an easy to follow guide for rewiring the original lights, motors and foot controllers on your vintage sewing machines. Also included is how to add a new light, motor and foot controller. For this book, vintage sewing machines pertains to those made through 1960. While the process of rewiring is actually quite simple, it's not for everyone. It's imperative that you are able to identify the hot, cold & neutral wires. You also need to be able to identify which connections these wires are compatible with in the terminal box. When in doubt always seek the advice of a professional. This manual is meant as a reference, not as a substitute for a professional repairman.Let's save vintage sewing machines, one machine at a time. Review: Clear and concise - I just received the book, well packaged and in good condition, and have not yet used it to rewire my own machine's motor; however, it appears to be a thorough tutorial. The pictures are going to be very helpful for this visual learner. It is for a Singer motor and my machine is not a Singer, but this book covers the basics. Review: Very useful - Simple book. Clear concise easy to follow information. Very useful. Love it.

Repairing Your Sewing Machines Electrical Components.
There are a lot of amateur sewing machine repair people, and while most are proficient with mechanical repairs, the majority are intimidated by anything related to the electrical components. The author has tackled this subject in a very readable manner covering topics such as tools, meters, different motor types, foot and knee controllers, wiring, etc while emphasizing safety. A must book for anyone repairing vintage sewing machines.
