WiFi makes it very convenient
Bought this to replace a 15 year old Brownell Trail Cam. Amazing how inexpensive the tech is with these new ones. My old one was 12megapix and this one does up to 48mp shots. The daytime shots are excellent for most objects. People and animals come out very crisp. The small exception is with fast moving objects like vehicles, there is some fuzziness to where license plates are not read well. I suppose this is to be expected as the camera wasnt meant to capture moving cars. I was using this as a security camera in essence, for my side yard. The great thing is I could access the files wifi from inside my house (This was possible from an area of my home within 15 feet of the camera).Night shots were so-so. Compared to my other trail camera it was leaps and bounds better. But from my experience with any IR night photos, any movement at night causes blur, even on my high quality security cameras. These were significantly better than my old trail cam, but dont expect 4k crispness at night.I end up using this trail cam at the 32mp setting. I find that the highest few settings dont get too much more sharp than the 20mp one. I hear these cameras just use rendering to get the higher mp and the native resolutions are much lower. All in all, for the money, this is excellent. I would consider getting a couple more for my vacant land to "keep watch" over things. The wifi is convenient. It does take one or two attempts sometimes to connect to the app. Downloads are pretty fast when you are close to the unit. It is nice not having to remove the card to download photos. I just find the ones that are significant and choose them. The others, I can erase remotely. The wifi also makes changing settings easy from the phone app.I highly recommend this trail cam.

It works great for videoing wildlife at night
We were having problems with deer eating our trees, berries and garden on our 1 acre lot. We needed to know where and how they were getting in, so I bought one of these cameras and used it in video mode to see when and where they were getting into the garden. Then I bought another one to check on their route in and out of the property. If my spouse let me, I'd buy 6 of them. No more guessing how old the deer poop is and whether that leaf was gone yesterday or not. With this camera you can see their faces. We got to know exactly who and what is in our yard at night (a lot more than I imagined!).The Good:-- They work! The motion detection seems to work well. Don't point it at a busy road if you value your batteries. It will pile up video after video...-- This camera works with an app for downloading and viewing the videos. Not all cameras have this feature, so buyer beware. Once the camera is connected to your device the first time, it is easy to reconnect. You can share from the app so there is never a need to remove the tiny memory card.-- The image quality is good if the target is say 8 to 50 feet away. Any closer and the image gets fuzzy. Any further and the IR illuminator doesn't reach. The Bad:-- The batteries that come with the camera don't last long. Don't buy this for the batteries.-- There is a temperature stamp on the video that's just plain wrong.-- Connecting and downloading videos takes a while. About a minute to connect and a minute per 20 sec video to download.-- I wish the IR illumination was a wider angle. The field of view is fairly narrow.-- There is a usb connection but it doesn't seem to do anything. I'd like to download to my laptop but the app only works on tablets and phones. So download to my ipad and email videos to myself. Not ideal. All in all I'm quite pleased. We now have a fence that works to keep the deer out, in part because we could monitor their behavior. And it's really interesting to see what all is out there at night.

Updated:: Looks and feels like a quality camera, but...
My previous review is below. I'm updating this since I have had another try at getting this to work like I want it. My goal was to mount this inside of a street parked vehicle so to catch license plates of night time door checkers. It appears that the sensors do not work through glass\windshield. I have since mounted it in a tree and it's triggering as expected. I'll give it a week and I'll update with the outcome. This is a relatively simple camera setup, and setting it up was a breeze. The Wi-Fi Bluetooth connection to articulate the settings and to access the photos and videos is simple however it is hit or miss, even when sitting right next to it. I use an Android so this may be an Android problem however for $100 there should not be an "Android problem" in my opinion. The picture quality when you manually take it is incredible! The video quality is also outstanding. I've left this up for two nights and it captures zero pictures and zero videos, where my Arlo cameras capture every bird, cat and local #@"*bag checking car doors. I'm going to give this camera another couple days and then unfortunately return it for a more well-known name brand camera.I'm disappointed because the case, camera, camo print, stand and the lot seems to be high quality, but it won't trigger to take pictures. Which is kind of a big deal for a game camera.

Colossal piece of crap :(
I purchased two of these cameras. I am returning both of them. One of them simply did not work -- it would not power up. I tried different batteries, which I tested with another device, but the camera was dead. The second camera worked, but not very well. Using the App, I stood next to the camera with my cell phone. I could get it to connect to Wifi via bluetooth, but it would not download images or videos to my phone. It would always get to 99% and then stop.I sent an email (the only customer service avenue provided) to the company, but I have not received an answer. So, I took a breath and tried again the next day. However, in less than 24 hours, the 8 new AA batteries were already dead! And this is even after choosing conservative settings on image quality and video length! The batteries and the LCD screen were both warm to the touch.I don't have the time or patience for this -- I am calling it junk. :(

Very nice Wi-Fi camera for the price
Purchased the camera primarily to take wildlife photos, mostly at night. I live in a small subdivision that backs up to a large wooded area that contains a large variety of animals including fox, squirrel, coyote, deer, raccoons etc. that I would like to get unsuspecting photos of.The Vanbar 700 initial setup was very easy to do and it produced a lot of good photos both night and day at first but it was becoming unreliable at night, sometimes getting nothing when I knew that there were animals present. I was also highly disappointed that the Wi-Fi would not connect to my phone no matter what I tried. So I contacted Amazon for a return and Amazon immediately shipped a replacement which arrived two days later. Amazon’s return policy is great.First thing I tried with the replacement camera was the Wi-Fi and it connected right away with no problem and works just fine. The camera also appears to be reliable for night photos with good quality and excellent quality on day shots. It does seem to go through batteries rather quickly. Haven’t tried the video so I can’t comment on it. Turned out to be a very nice camera for the money and would buy it again. It was also very easy to register online for the free three year warranty that Vanbar offers.

Good trail camera but poor VENARI app
This is my first trail cam purchase but I am not a stranger to digital photography, videography or digital cameras operation.I am happy with the quality of packaging it arrived in and the printed manual is easy to follow. Everything is there to begin using this trail camera immediately after opening the box.I downloaded the VENARI app and effortlessly connected my cellphone to the camera via bluetooth then the camera's WIFI kicked into operation. After my first night of operation I was getting some avi files that I could not open. I replaced the batteries with fresh ones which resolved this issue. The WIFI connection is solid but downloading photos is too slow to deal with. I stopped using WIFI with this camera (not a big deal). The app also left a multitude of VENARI albums on my iPhone photos that I cannot remove. That aside I am very happy with the image quality, ease of operation and camera build. I love setting up the camera at night and viewing the wildlife it captures. I would recommend the purchase of this camera but not the use of the VENARI app.

Disappointed
Generally; you can get the camera to wake up and work; but sometimes it just won't wake up.The reality of the wifi is; that it is pretty slow. Yes you can check the camera in real time; and you can check sort of what it captured. But every single transaction is slow.Depending on what you want to do that might be fine. But for me; I still found it simpler to just swap out the card to see what i got from my home PC.Further; I've had some bad video / pictures; where it was like it just didn't handle sunlight well. My other cam; which was cheaper; no such issues. This is still well made; and solid; i just don't know it was worth the 20-30 (+40% cost) bucks more for the wifi feature; given the above.

Convenient but some concerns
Overall, this is a practical and reliable trail camera, making it a worthy investment for those interested in capturing their outdoor experiences. Its 48MP image resolution and 4K video quality provide clear and detailed captures..The WiFi connection and APP control add convenience by allowing users to adjust settings and preview content from their smartphones. The camera's night vision and no-glow infrared LEDs effectively capture nocturnal wildlife without disturbance. One concern I have is in order to use the app features you need to use an app that seems to have a lot more access to your phone and possibly your network than I’m willing to risk so those features are useless for me.

Sehr gute Wildkamera inkl. 32GB Speicherkarte
