Taylor K1001 Basic Residential DPD Pool or Spa Test Kit

This is the second time I've purchased this item. The seller is fast at getting it shipped. The test kit is great quality. I'll continue to buy this item from the same seller.

For years I had been using a more complicated method for checking the chemical levels of our spa and small pool. The Taylor basic kit is all I need. There are only three chemicals, not four or five that leads to waste. You simply fill up both sides of the kit to the same level and add the drops. I am now getting more accurate readings and the water quality reflects it. Make sure to store the kit indoors at room temperature, and carefully follow the directions when testing your pool or spa.

I was very happy with both the delivery and product. I have used it for years. I mistakenly left a negative review intended for a different product and suppier.

Overall, I got this to supplement my Taylor k2006 kit, since I test ph and chlorine so often, and figured a liquid dpd would be nice as it doesn’t dissolve in powder form all that easily if the water is cold. The test is accurate and works as it should, and is a great value for purchase. But, the actually testing container is shaped very odd, unlike a normal cylinder the other test kit uses, this has a narrow tube the flares at the top, and it’s a little more annoying to pour out excess water accurately to get the exact amount; it like clings like it’s vacuum held into there until you break the tension and then too much tries to pour out. So not even to not recommend, but hope Taylor rethinks this design.

Super easy to use and accurate.

My old Taylor Kit was in great condition but the 3 replacement regents are around $10 each for $30 total. It is cheaper to buy a whole new kit. Had to wait a few days but it arrived in time to check the water for the weekend. Yes, my chlorine was high and pH was low. Gotta love an accurate test kit. Very happy with this purchase.

I check chlorine and pH regularly. Total alkalinity far less. So I run out of the former's chemicals. Seldom the latter. This is the solution. Don't pay for the green top TAs you don't need. Right size so the chems don't overstay their useful life. Note: The pH bottle is R014 not R004. They look/seem the same but are not. If you have a Taylor Kit K1004, this is the correct basic refill.

I’ve had the Taylor test strips as well as this kit and none of them have read chlorine levels correct. I didn’t put chlorine in my pool for 6 months because the test kit was reading false highs and took water to a pool store for them to tell me my water had virtually no chlorine in it. Tested the water several other times in relation to the pool company. Even tested it AT the company with both of us reading the directions. Reads high every time. I want my money back and I’m lucky my pool isn’t destroyed.

I need the chemicals for my hot tub and I really like it. It is expensive at other stores and I’m glad that Amazon had it so I ordered two and it is truly a great product for pools and hot tubs.
